Smallest gap possible on AP5-LT? I thought about a Recessed Plan B mount by Comstock, but that'd cover the Wrench flats of the muzzle device, so it simply wouldn't work, no?

Is 1650$ OTD for a like-new Tikka T3x TAC A1 a good deal? It comes with an extra magazine.

Looks like a nice rifle, but I don't know these things too well and I've been reading about the lifespan of 6.5CM barrels and that got me antsy.

Picking up an OCL Milkman for my AP5-LT finally. Pausing at the mounting options...DT, Tri-lug, Plan B.

So the lack of Tri-Lugs means I bought a Kews Valley Precision Tri-Lug adapter when I got it (The thread protector actually was somewhat damaged so I figured I needed a new one anyways, and it was 38$).

Fast forward to now when I'm finally getting suppressor for it. Reading up on POI shift, baffle strikes, end-cap strikes, wobble ect and my head is spinning.

My plan was to get the RU3 Tri-lug adapter for the Milkman and be done with it.

But then I was reading about Plan B and remembered someone mentioning these, which look pretty slick:

Wolfpack Armory Recessed Night Howler Gen3 Flash Hider

https://www.reddit.com/r/MP5/comments/1ixcu9n/ap5lt_compatible_with_wolfpack_armory_recessed/

But wondering if it's worth dropping 90$ or something to grab it for a flusher fit, plus supposedly they minimize POI / Wobble. Also looks a tad cleaner.

This is what it looks like with the Kews Valley.

I know Direct Thread is theoretically the best with sound suppression and POI shift, but there's also the walk off danger unless using rocksett or something.

Who do you guys use for NFA transfers?

Cheapest I found is Northeast Munitions, but apparently they charge a 25$ fee for not using silencer shop. Which I find a little annoying

Want to grab a 9mm PCC can and a .30 Cal can for my .308 Bolt Action - Looking at the OCL Milkman and PTR Vent 1

The Cat Mob had been on my radar, but I really, really, really dislike their marketing. Like a lot. Great can from what I can hear though.

The Milkman is kinda funky looking, but that's fine. People are saying it's only slightly louder than the Cat Mob, has a way better warranty and less back pressure and the company is nice. Right now it's about 100$ more to get the Cat Mob over the Milkman, so it's not even a money issue here. Also Milkman is a joke nickname people have used for me online for a long time so it feels kind of right.

PTR from what I can tell, are douchebags all around, but their Vent 1 is kind of in a class of it's own. I don't do dedicated suppressor hosts and swap mine around, the Vent 1 is great on Bolt Actions, 308 or 6.5 CM I hear, and does a moderate job at 5.56 and the like, something I'd want to try dipping my toes into.

However when I was out at a FFL today, I met someone there who turned out to be...a suppressor manufacturer and he turned me onto his website, Northreach MFG. They have the Whisper Pickles. Much, much affordable, at half the price, double the weight, but I don't really see any reviews. It intrigued me. He has videos on the website, but it's really hard to tell a suppressor from videos due to so many variables in recording, a lot of them all end up sounding the same. They also have like a 2 month+ wait period.

Also planning to Tri-lug the 9mm PCC can, wondering what adapter to buy for the Milkman?

Thanks.

[Review] [Negative] Battlehawkarmory.com

Almost 5 days ago I ordered a Chiappa Rhino 60 DS 44. Magnum, Nickel plated. Stock finally showed up. On a ton of vendors. It was available for like over an hour on a lot of websites.

Naturally I went to gun.deals and found the cheapest place after shipping. Battlehawk Armory. I submitted my order before it even showed as listed on the gun.deals website, I was checking OoS vendors to see if they were in stock.

I managed to secure an order on another website, but after seeing it 50$ cheaper at BHA, I cancelled that order, and went with BHA.

Fast forward to today:

> We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, the item(s) from your recent order are currently out of stock at our main facility and across all of our distribution and fulfillment warehouses. Because of this, your entire order has been canceled and fully refunded.

>A full refund has been issued immediately from our system; however, please allow 1–7 business days for the funds to appear back in your account, depending on your bank or credit card provider.

>If you’d like to be notified when this product becomes available again, please sign up for a Back-In-Stock notification by adding the item to your wishlist on our website.

I feel very upset by this because I could've ordered from the other half dozen vendors and actually gotten it. But no, I went with BHA. A recurring theme I suppose, after googling them, all over reddit.

I have been hunting this gun for months, since I first saw it in March or so, and was so excited, only for this kick in the teeth.

Back again. Wanted a new scope on my Marlin 783 .22 WMR, but it seems I miscalculated.

I got a cheap Athlon Talos scope, Athlon is good and it's just for plinking.

It's an Athlon Talos 4-16x40mm. I purchased some of these:

https://www.leupold.com/rifleman-rimfire-3-8-in-matte

Medium height, based off what people were saying when I googled, they looked right. But boy, they do not have the clearance for the bolt, not even close. The Scope itself almost touches the rifle.

I'm not even sure "High" scope rings would clear. What are my options?

Anyone tried Skinner Optic Scopes?

I like their bead sights. Never really saw they had scopes. My cousins got an old Marlin 30-30 he uses for hunting. He bought it from our Uncle, it has a very old Bushnell scope on it from probably the 70s. The glass isn't great or it's just aged out, but he wanted to change to something new. 3-9x seems the sweet spot for hunting applications.

I saw the Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40mm for 229$ and recommended it to him. It is slightly bulky for a lever gun though.

Then he said he heard about Skinner having Scopes and we looked at them. They look nice. Good reticle, 1-6x or 1-10x zoom. Low profile and look right at home really.

Has anyone here used them, and thoughts? Thanks.

Got an old Marlin 783 .22 WMR, want to swap out to some new Sling studs so I can mount a Harris Bi-Pod. Is it drop in, or do I need to drill?

https://cfnparts.com/product/Swivel-Base-Original-783?path=366

This is what I got on both ends.

https://www.amazon.com/Uncle-Mikes-25200-Magnum-Swivel/dp/B002E6T1NU?ie=UTF8

This is what I was looking into so I could use my Harris Bi-Pod. However it looks like I'll need to drill, which makes me hesitant to modify the gun.

Thoughts?

Got an old Marlin 783 .22 WMR - It has a Weaver 22A 3-6x Scope on it. However it's very dirty even after cleaning it - and on the lowest magnification, there somehow appears to be dirt inside.

Googling around I found some on ebay to match it, but they're all in various states - hard to say. As for cleaning it, well, not sure it's worth taking a 50-60$ scope to a Gunsmith to fix when for 100$ you can get much better scopes these days.

I was looking at some Leopold Weaver rail rings for 11mm, and perhaps the Athlon Telos 4-16x40mm, which I've found currently on sale for 120$ shipped. The rings are 25$. So 145$ and bam, newer, better scope. I figure it's good on a budget, as it's just a plinker really.

Any suggestions?

I fucked up, totally my fault, feel free to shame but I bought a Mosin over a decade ago and left it in the closet. Some corrosive chemicals were still in the barrel, it's pretty ruined.

Looking online, I can find replacement barrels in the 100$~ ish range, and I've read Gunsmiths can change the barrels for like 150-170$. Mosin Nagants are no longer the 140-160$ price tag they were, but seem to be creeping at over 500$+.

The stock on mine is Mint, receiver as well, just the barrel is borked because of my own ineptitude. What are your thoughts? Get a new barrel, let my cousin have it for spare parts for his own Mosin, or just buy a new one?

Want to build a simple workbench for my projects. I'm stuck between buying a butchers block or plywood - as the price is roughly the same.

Someone told me gluing two Sande Plywood 3/4th together on top of some sawhorses is a good idea. But I've also built a computer desk using Butchers blocks before.

When I went to look at the local prices at home depot, two of the plywoods cost around 140$. The Butchers block is 129$ shipped to my door.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampton-Bay-4-ft-L-x-25-in-D-Unfinished-Hevea-Solid-Wood-Butcher-Block-Countertop-with-Standard-Edge-THD-HBU-0001/319764603

The plywood:

As the price seems to be roughly the same, I'm wondering why I wouldn't go with the Butchers block besides the weight?

I build computers and do some light home gunsmithing and in the future plan on reloading as well.

Tikka T3X Hunter .308 - Talley direct rings or a 20 MOA Rail & Vortex Pro series rings?

What would you recommend? I can return the Vortex rings, I thought they fit the weaver rail directly, but that's my mistake. A EGW rail is cheap enough and well regarded, but Talley rings direct mount which is nice.

Picked up a Tikka T3x Hunter .308 - 20 inch barrel - Looking for a good scope, any thoughts?

100-200 yards is my Ranges limit, there may be some hunting eventually.

I'd put a budget of 500$ish with a little wiggle room depending on the reason.

Thanks.

Thinking of getting the OCL Milkman. I have a AP-5 LT - It accepts Direct Threads & I have a Trilug muzzle device. What should I get for attaching it?

There's just so much information out there, I keep thinking I know what I want, but then I become unsure.

The plan is to use the Tri-lug, but I suppose I also have the option of direct threading it, which I've heard there are benefits of. What are your thoughts? In a unique position since most AP5s don't have the option of Direct Thread. I think I know I'd need one of those uh, smooth thread protectors that help lock suppressors in place if I use direct thread, but oh well.

I also need to get one of those Tri-lug wrenches to tighten the muzzle device down, but it's such a specific, one time use tool and it's like 25$ - what are your thoughts?

Also - Rocksett. Should I use it? Y/N? On both devices?

Not sure where to ask as Tanfoglio doesn't have it's own subreddit, but I have a 10mm Stock Master on backorder for almost two months now. They're offering to replace it with the 9mm version.

I paid 785$ for it, it apparently was OoS and improperly listed but they've said they'll put it on backorder when more arrive.

I contacted them recently and they said they're still waiting. They offered to swap it to the 9mm Stock Master, specifically this variant:

https://www.dahlonegaarmory.com/product-details?id=449574&source=gundeals

This is the model for 10mm, that I am on backorder for:

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1026594393?pid=443593

I like 10mm and have a few. A essentially 10mm CZ would be awesome, but at this point I'm tired of waiting and curious to what you fine folk would do. Accept the offer, or cancel, or keep waiting?

Brand new TX22 Toro, picked it up today and hit the range - Slide sometimes doesn't lock back when empty.

I have the 2 magazines that came with it, and 3 extras I bought, so 1 15 round, and 4 22 rounders. It seemed random when it happened, didn't always happen.

Gun is not modified in any way, no optics and nothing been changed, stock.

I tried CCI SV, CCI Mini-Mag and CCI Quiet-22 Semi Auto. It seemed random, but not had a brand new gun fail to lock back the slide with so many new magazines.

CCI Standard Velocity VS Clean-22 for Suppressor usage?

I can find a few posts about it, with mixed results. I can't find a real Definitive answer if it's worth the little bit extra for the Clean 22, some people are saying it's a lot less accurate and "smells" of burning plastic.

I ordered a OCL Titanium 22 and got it coming in a few days, mostly have SV stocked, so was curious.
