Solid HDMI switcher?

I just got a brand new Samsung S95F and an S95H TV for my home. One TV in my office, one in my living room. Both have a PS5, a Switch 2 dock, and a raspberry pie 4 set up with a retro gaming image…

I have 8K capable HDMI cables running from the TV through the walls to where the consoles and cable box are connected.

I need a good 8K potentially capable HDMI switcher. (or at least one that will run the 4K at 120 Hz for the PlayStation) The old one that I have every time, the 4K signal goes through it from the PlayStation it flashes and glitches… Does the same thing if I switch it to the TV feed… It’s a cheap $40 to port switch that I bought off Amazon years ago for both.

So I’m looking for a recommendations. The TV guy who set it up today said I should look for something that’s 48 GB throughput capacity for the 8K potential.

I saw these two:

Any opinions on these or better recommendations? I don’t wanna break the bank something around $100 mark is fine. Suggestions?

I guess I can’t do OLED? QLED? Other?

Ughh… it’s always the things we want that we can’t have. I was looking at a Samsung S95H as well as the LG G6. Both obviously OLEDs. But then I started worrying about that dreaded phrase burn in.

Most evenings my TV is probably on 5 to 6 hours… Certainly at least four hours a night while the wife and I watch a variety of TV shows and sports and occasionally Netflix and the odd movie. But when she goes to sleep on the couch, which is pretty much every night I’m flipping on sports. And my biggest worry about OLED is Saturday afternoons and Sunday afternoons in the fall. I have college football on from noon until midnight and NFL football noon till midnight. Obviously Static ticker and things like that are risky for OLED. Given that use scenario and the fact that I also watch a lot of baseball games which are three hours at a pop on the TV. Does that mean I should just avoid OLED altogether?

If yes, what’s my best alternative? What gives me the best picture with Motion for sports but still really good colours for tv & movies in 4K… And something that’s really good for gaming as I’m looking to buy two of whatever this TV is, one for my living room and one for my home office both which have a PS5 and a floating Switch 2 going between them.

I’d really appreciate some suggestions on what to look at and whether I should abandon OLED completely

What would you do? Screaming kid in restaurant

I’m not sure if maybe now I’m officially “old” at 50 and I’m the old man yelling at clouds out of touch but 2 out of the 3 dinners I took my wife out to at a restaurant in the past 2 weeks we had a mother with a 3 year old and a baby literally screaming through the entire dinner for OVER 1 hour without stopping being heard though the entire restaurant packed full with other customers… and at no point did either of the mothers quiet their kid, get up and take them outside to try to calm/quiet them, or ask for a doggy bag and take the kid and meal home… they just sat there ruining everyone’s meal while their kid howled and threw a tantrum at ear deafening volumes.

There was a time you took the kid outside to try to calm them and if that didn’t work you took the kid and your meal home out of common decency to those around you.

Am I wrong?

Ifollow will automatically renew after the preseason tour apparently

This is the response I got when I asked why my subscription didn’t auto renew on July 1. So I guess they’re not including preseason tour in the regular subscription.

NFL Sunday ticket in super sports package?

My dad is 82 years old. He wanted the NFL Sunday ticket package this year to watch football. He has Rogers/Shaw TV. When I called they said it’s part of the super sports package for $40 a month. I said OK so I subscribed to that for him. But he doesn’t have access to the channel section that is NFL Sunday ticket. It says a subscription is required. Is that cause the NFL Sunday ticket season hasn’t started or something screwed up on the subscription? I assume they broadcast content 365/24/7 don’t they?

This is supposedly the channel listing

Mobula 6&7 - 2 questions

I’d like to get 2 tiny whoops that have HDzero to go with my HDZ2 goggles to feel what the difference is in the signal versus analog.

I’m a newbie, not very good flyer yet, bump into a lot of stuff. Every time I look at that canopy that holds the camera I feel like it doesn’t fully protect the camera very well. Like the flat plate behind the actual camera is fully exposed to impact.

So..

Question 1: is the canopy/camera mount very susceptible to damage in a crash? Or despite appearances it has some decent protection level? (say compared to an Air65 which I have)

Question 2: I’d like a slightly larger tiny whoop I can play with in the yard outside that can handle a little bit of wind. Is the Mobula 7 big enough/powerful enough? Or would I need to go to a mobula 8?

C7 more militaristic orientated?

I’ve only tried a couple games and compared to C6. I’m finding I’m getting attacked early and often compared to the previous version. Is it just me or is this game currently orientated to militaristic civilizations being highly aggressive compared to the previous C6?

Before I used to be able to put a unit or two in a city and nobody would really bug me. But this one I’m finding there’s a lot more aggression.

Si Thep?

Just tried my first game in C7… What’s the deal with Si Thep? Are they always super aggressive? I barely got my second City established and they were freaking attacking me from left right centre with boats and then troops on the ground. It was feeling more like age of empires instead of civilization to the point I got aggravated and abandoned the game ( and I was only on the default difficulty)

We were the only club without Premier league experience?

Just watched the opening episode to welcome to Wrexham for the current season last night… I didn’t know we were the only championship club that had not had Premier league experience prior. That’s a pretty important statement I think given how well we did this season. To me that makes me feel like this season was even more of an accomplishment for how close we made it to playoffs. I hope we can build upon this past season and step it up even more next year.

Yippee did my first flight!

I work from home and I’m having a slow afternoon so I charged up the batteries this morning and I got my first flight in out my backyard and over the bush and mini pond/lake areas out past my backyard. Was so excited to get it up in the air, I forgot to hit record! Lol oh well, I’ll do that the next flight.

Wouldn’t you know it though I charged up four batteries and now the wind kicked up super crazy after coming in and landing the first flight. I think there’s a rain storm coming. Oh well, there’s always tomorrow. This thing is super fun.

Ea anti cheat question

Always looking for new games to add to the collection to play on the steam deck… I had previously asked about FC 25 and was told that it doesn’t play because of EA anti-cheat.

Does it prevent the EA games from fully loading up completely? Even if you try to play it in off-line mode? Or does it only crash out on online modes?

WTH am I clicking wrong?

OK, I don’t know if I’m on drugs or something today but I just picked up NBA 2K 26 for the PC. I’m clicked into myNBA, I chose the Jordan era, I just finished the selection screen where you set your league rules, and all of those settings… Then there’s the button that says advance at the bottom… I hit that button… Then it clicks me to a screen where it’s asking me to choose a share or something. I don’t see anywhere I can just save my franchise that I’m trying to create. Even when I go to the Sub tab that says NEW I still don’t see anything… A button doesn’t work. The advanced button doesn’t work. What the heck am I doing wrong here?

So aggravated… My aflutter generally isn’t an issue and seems to be OK under medication despite the fact that my cardiologist thinks I should go for an ablation which I may anyway… But it seems every time I get really sick It kicks it off. Caught a really bad flu two days ago, vomiting, diarrhea, fever… And wouldn’t you know it yesterday? Damn heart rate starts jumping all over the place. 55 140 65 155. All right trip to the ER and get me the jumper cables.

The Dr… Who is literally my neighbour across the street asked me if I had any questions before he did the procedure this time… I asked him if I could have some theme music. He said what were you thinking? I said I thought AC/DC thunderstruck, seemed appropriate. He just laughed.

I’ve been watching this game for awhile thinking about buying and I was wondering given how it’s decision based where the storyline goes, How often do you actually get a different storyline ending? Has anybody played at multiple times and legitimately got notably different storylines throughout? Or is it fairly similar on replay?
