So my last post got removed because I named the insurer. Here it is again but edited with no names and more context.

I’m transitioning from STD (employer paid) to LTD (insurer paid). Because my STD claim was initiated in 2025, my employer used my 2024 earnings to calculate my STD benefits (66%). My insurer is using my 12 month pre-disability earnings (salary + commissions) to calculate my LTD benefits 60%. I was expecting a 6% drop from STD to LTD, but the drop is 32%. The problem is I was on STD for 5 months in 2025 (had a failed return to work and ended up off again. Because my return was more than 3 weeks, a new STD claim was initiated). So to calculate my LTD benefits, the insurer is using the 12 months prior to THIS claim, which includes a 5 month approved medical absence. Is it legal to use the prior 12 months even though 5 of them were nowhere near my true pre-disability earnings?

How is it legal for them to say 66% for STD and 60% for LTD when they’re both using different numbers to calculate? Feels like a bait and switch, and that I’m being penalized for being off sick.

So I am 42f and recently diagnosed ADHD and ASD1. I’ve also recently started a weight loss medication (Zep) and am down 33lbs since early March, yay!! As soon as I started the med I switched from 2 morning coffees with 1%milk and hazelnut creamer to 2 premade coffee based protein shakes. They taste good and are more affordable than most. Now they’re gone. Discontinued. They have become such a staple part of my morning routine, and tomorrow will be my last one. I know it sounds silly, there are others on the market. This is the first time since getting diagnosed that I am having a strong reaction to change in routine and I just want to cry. My mom tried to reassure me that I can try another brand, and while I know that is true, I’m just so upset.

I’m doing a treasure hunt and there are clues embedded in text (sponsor mentions at the end of clue that typos aren’t clues…or maybe they are).

Looking at the text, I can only see an extra quotation mark/comma or missing spaces (example “known as”Stanley Park”)

I’m able to identify the anomalies, missing spaces here, extra quotation mark there; but how would I change that data into something meaningful like a word?

The other day they were right on the corner of the entrance of the 7-11, leaning against the wall. One smoking pipe, the other laid out on the ground. Just after 3pm as kids coming in to get slurpees. Today they’re at the benches by the clock at the entrance to Moody Park. Kids everywhere, staring at thug guys long ass pipe as he’s getting high. How is this okay? I get that they have nowhere to go, but do you have to do it around kids? Fuck.

Transitioning to LTD June 30. My last STD pay is June 25. I have to use this for rent. I’ll get a one day pay on June 30 from LTD, then nothing until July 31. Im paycheque to paycheque already. No savings, no credit. What can I do? I’m panicking.

If I have a long text and there are 10 sets of words that are missing a space (example, “it was a beautifulday for a walk”) is there a specific cypher or way to decode what it means?

I have 4 hours to kill tomorrow, don’t drive, and will be near Inlet Theatre. Not familiar with the area. Any suggestions?

I’ve got a two month supply of 25mg and curious as to how others have titrated off.

-Take them daily until they’re gone?
-Take a month then stagger day skipping?

I’m about 3 weeks into 50mg (since my highest dose of 100mg for 8 months).

Just curious what worked best for everyone. My GP has no clue. 🙄

So the plan with the Surgeon was to do a full hysterectomy and removed my left ovary. Now I see I have cysts on both ovaries. Should they both go? I’m 41 and not yet in peri according to my bloodwork.

This woman was sadly found deceased in Vancouver BC in 2022. She was found near an inflatable kayak, and carrying insulin and candy. Analogy of pollen and spores found on her clothing and backpack indicates she may have spent time in the Seattle or Portland areas.

Posting here on the chance that someone recognizes her. Someone must be looking for her, and deserves closure.

Last time I checked my iron in March, I was 136. That’s from a low in Feb of 12. But I’m still SO tired ALL the time. On a 3-6 month wait list for hysterectomy but I really don’t want to deprive my kids of another fun summer because I’m too tired to do anything.

I’m about to start titrating off of this med and for the life of me can’t figure out why Canada doesn’t offer this step down dose. Does anyone have any ‘safe’ ideas? I can’t believe a pharmacy tech at London Drugs actually told me to just cut a 50 in half.

Just found out that my child has been entitled to child support since Sept 2024. I honestly didnt think so because I make more money than him. We are going to court now and he’s saying we had a verbal agreement that he would pay daycare in lieu of child support. We had no such agreement. I understand that I would also owe for section 7 expenses which would reduce the amount he owes, but we’re still looking at about $8k that he should have paid and didn’t. What are the chances that he will be made to pay? Does me not understanding family law until now mean he’ll be off the hook?

Mind you, I’ve had two healthy babies, V delivery, (8.11 and 9.13), and never done pelvic floor therapy, but do you think adeno could be contributing to incontinence? Anyone else suffering with adeno have this issue and haven’t had children?
