How I felt after finally understanding the purpose of the team up.

How I felt after finally understanding the purpose of the team up.

My interest in the team up went from 2 to 10 really quick once I understood how it works and it's intended purpose.

At first glance I thought the team up was designed to stockpile lots of elasticity which means a longer inflated form, I thought that at first because it's a very basic idea that I figured Netease would put, but I quickly realized that was impossible to achieve.

Then whenever I used the team up I would just utilize it as a health pack or early inflated state, in case I needed some burst damage/heal.

but today I understood exactly why it's here, It's designed to give you 2 full inflated states back to back with almost 0 downtime.

here's how I do it:

  1. reach 66 elasticity (achievable by Punch > Distended grip > flexible elongation > punch)
  2. Activate Team up.
  3. During the team up, reach exactly 140 elasticity.
  4. manually enlarge.
  5. use enlarged form and then cancel it after reaching exactly 100 elasticity.
  6. by that time your team up would be close to expire which will automatically put you in another inflated state immediately after leaving the last one.

People say they want manual inflated state in the base kit, but actually, I want the entire team up in the base kit...this thing is so much fun now that I understand it!

It's hilarious and sad how little effort people put in competitive compared to Quickplay.

You lose first point, and someone immediately types "gg", you enter a fresh new game and someone says in the voice chat "I'm going to throw because this game is a joke".

I've seen more dedicated players that take every matches seriously in Quickplay than I've seen in Comp, And I've reached freaking Grandmaster 1 bro, I could've easily hit Celestial if I had the amount of effort of Quickplay players.

I am not asking you to be a God at the game, or a smurf, all I want is effort, game sense and awareness.

I won't even ask you to switch if you underperform but still have the capacity to put in the effort.

Flexible elongation should deal 75 damage and return back to 8 seconds.

Think about it, they removed the slow, so it's offensive side against enemies is pretty much just a light push back.

Reed struggles to deal any meaningful damage.

Flexible elongation gives you and your allies 75 shields, so, it should also equally deal 75 damage to the target hit.

This brings it more in line with Blade's Daywalker Dash for example.
Since it's going to be used more like a damage ability, it should return back to 8 seconds. so it doesn't become constant oppressive damage.

But how do we buff Thor's ult?

if his ult is bad, how do we buff it?

in my opinion they should probably give us the option to choose where to land, steering the landing kind of similar to Mister Fantastic or Bucky's ult, and/or the option to Land prematurely for an instant burst of damage and stun.

I am not banning anyone anymore.

I have a 68% WR with Mister Fantastic and was hovering over him.

in that match I decided I wanted to ban Strange this time because I was sick of his TP that clutches bad teams into prolonging the match for no reason. nobody was hovering over Strange, nobody told me anything when I Pinged the ban, so I went with it and it worked.

Guess what, three people in my team quickly banned Mister Fantastic. Why? because "I was going to use Strange and you banned him, you targeted me"

did you say anything? no, did you hover over him? no.
then they continued to be toxic to me for no reason the rest of the match, and blamed me for the loss.

I couldn't immediately do good at another character because I was so pissed off and also my muscle memory was so used to Mister Fantastic Combos. they completely sabotaged me for no reason.

Shit like this is why you should seriously never interact with your team, I'll never use the ban system again, people are literally so dumb and illiterate in this game, they have so little common sense and capability to think.

I am seriously considering replacing Mister Fantastic with Thing.

Been one tricking Mister Fantastic all the way to Grandmaster, but the moment I hit Grandmaster 2, matches have become such a problem for me.

the issue is that I am not doing enough damage, no matter what I do, my hits in inflated form can't even kill a Dagger inside her bubble, it's embarrassing.

and my God the ult sucks so bad, this is a game where ults matter more than anything and a single ult can make or break a match.

Peeling isn't everything in this game, while I do it, I am still a DPS who's required to get picks.
although my final damage at the end of the match is super high, if I am not getting picks on my own, I'm better off using a DPS that can stockpile that same amount of damage but has better ability to confirm kills.

This is why I thought about playing Thing, for starters, I am actually filling a Tank Role, second, he has about the exact same playstyle and even similar abilities as Reed but as a Tank.

Thing is like a Mister Fantastic in constant inflated form but can use abilities, and deals actual good damage.

Can someone explain to me what's the point of going past 100 elasticity with Mister Fantastic's recent team up?

I thought it would allow reed to have a longer inflated form, but the team up itself doesn't last long, so the amount of time you'll spend in that form at 100 is about the exact same if it's at 120 or even 150.

The team up is in case you want a quick heal, the manual transformation allowing you to turn big below 100 elasticity is also useful for clutch moments.

there are also instances (that I still can't execute properly in a real match) where you can have two inflated forms back to back.

all that has nothing to do with going past 100, I feel like they added that as a way to make the team up look more impressive than it actually is.

Had one of the hottest and longest Win streak in this game's history with 67% win rate, too scared to try and reach Celestial.

In previous seasons, it usually takes me blood and sweat to reach Grandmaster, but this season, I decided to only one trick Reed and I went from Diamond 3 to Grandmaster 2.

What I did was basically One Trick all the way, I know it sounds toxic and unhelpful for the team but it's literally the only way I managed to climb compared to previous seasons.

using a a hero you know by muscle memory will give you a higher chance at winning games than just filling a spot on your team.

Only experienced one thrower in this entire sitting, people genuinely lose hope and give up way too early in Competitive compared to Quickplay. it's really sad.

I want to try and reach Celestial, I don't think Guang Guang will let it slide bro ;-;

I'm being extremely nitpicky here but anybody else disappointed he doesn't use his legs or torso?

Just got the new emote where he stretches his torso with the scop, and it looks so cool. I wonder why he only uses his arms t punch people.

I mean sure there is fridge mode which technically counts as something other an arm, but I wonder what could we possibly do with a new ability or feature that allows reed to use and stretch his legs.

Not a Gambit main but I am just here to say, they massacred everything but his ult for no reason.

I am a Champion Adam Warlock so it's so ballsy for me to complain about Gambit when there are much worse Strategists out there, but I think it's fair to include every bad balance decision

I hate when the character is nerfed the wrong way and it's never addressed because it's after all still a nerf. but it just makes them worse to play while still having the top 1 reason that makes them banned.

  • From 275 to 250 despite the fact he can't really fight off Dive that well like before, and nowhere near White Fox's or Luna Snow's level
  • Reduced healing on Dash, which means he's forced to heal bot more often, instead of use the dash for unique burst heals.
  • Less bounces on his bouncing healing cards, again, no reason whatsoever.
  • damage bonus when activating a spades card goes from 15 to 10% which means he is no longer able to kill 275 health characters in 4 shots like before.

On top of all that, there are the nerfs to his ult which are fair but they still haven't addressed the primary reason he's still perma banned, the fact that it gives ult charge regeneration.

which means these nerfs did nothing but make the character feel worse and boring to play just because they're too stubborn to remove one stat from his ult.

Looking at Captain America's ult made me wonder something about Brainiac Bounce...

Cap's ult is now more or less a Support ult, when all tanks in the game have ults that apply CC or area denial, Cap is the only one to have support elements.

So Why not do the same for Reed?
Reed's ultimate deal a total of 630 damage if every jump was successful, and apply a total of 60% slow.

Why not make it so it also apply shields and a speed boost to any ally that you hit with each jump?

I am sorry but 630 damage divided in scaling chunks between each bounce is NOT duelist level damage.
the worst ults in the game like Iron man deals 1000 damag, and like Wanda deals 9999 damage, all in one go.
Reed has takes too long to stack that damage that it won't even matter anymore.

I feel like he might need this extra utility.

Which do you think is better looking and make more sense? Regular super strength or Size Increasing super strength.

Regular Super strength a character that is naturally huge and has superhuman strength, think Mister Incredible, Viltrumites, Hulk too.

However there is also Super strength that comes from Increasing your size, Goliath, Giant Man, Giganta etc.

Strength and durability scales proportionally with size. While regular super strength is mostly fixed.

There is also the problem of fitting into tight spaces, 0 practical uses in stealth missions, and overall the bigger you get the easier for you to get hit.

But at the same time, your giant posture makes sense for you to possess strength of the same level.

If you're as giant as a Skyscraper, you'll obviously going to be able to lift several thousand tons easily.

Do you even have hope for Adam to be Viable one day?

"He's already viable" no I don't mean the instances where I have to sacrifice my newborn just to compete with the average Invis and Luna.

I mean Viable enough, where he's comfortable to use whenever wherever, where he fits every comp.

Where none of his abilities have heavy constraints and unnecessarily long cooldowns.
Where my team won't cuss me for using Adam, even when sometimes I have a higher healing output than the Luna on my team.

I keep having high hopes every patch note, but then it's another 0."screw you" seconds on his cosmic cluster and then I have to wait an entire month again just to hope for nothing.

I want to believe he'll be good one day because I really like this character but atp, I am eyeing another main.

Why does Wolverine only have "claws" in his hand and not his feet?

I always wondered this since my first exposure to the character when I was like...5.

years later, I still feel like I wanted to ask that but couldn't find the right place.

Why does Wolverine, only have 3 claws in each hand? why are his claws literally just a biological version of Tekkō Instead of actual claws instead of nails?

At least X-23 has an extra claw on her feet, which isn't really accurate but still close enough.

it just doesn't make sense, for a guy with powers themed after an animal.
Sabretooth at least does it right.

Hyping up my Journey to become champion Thing with 10 reasons why I chose him!

I was an Adam Warlock main, and also consistently play Daredevil and Mister Fantastic. the reason I don't follow a single theme or playstyle with choosing my mains is because I like the characters I am playing regardless of how they play in the game. for example being a huge DD fan in general.

However, once I took a deep dive into their current performance in the game, two out of these characters are extremely lackluster, while the other is a Dive which I do not enjoy. also they botched Daredevil's damage numbers and he's doing nothing but spam his throw ability which is super lame.

Despite Thing's very simple kit, he turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and dopamine inducing Tanks I've played, even more so than Captain America for me.

here's all the reason that made me decide to start my journey to become Champion Thing:

  1. Boxing fighting style: no other character in the game Boxes like thing, and as a martial arts enthusiast myself, Boxing became my all time favorite martial art, it has rich classical, oldschool culture and isn't as toxic as say BJJ or Wing chun, which reflects Thing's personality pretty well
  2. Amazing Brawler: Brawl melee dps is my favorite playstyle in the game, that's what I was trying to do with Reed but lacked the damage and DD but lacked the survivability.
  3. Anti Dive: Thing is the pretty much the Tank version of Mister Fantastic but with more presence and influence in the fight, his Anti Dive playstyle bleeds very well with his Brawling, and I do love protecting my supports and squishies as much as possible.
  4. Fills Tank: when I used to play support or DPS I always felt bad for the Solo tankers out there, and wanted to fill for them, I love filling the Tank role, and Thing Pairs very well with almost every Tank in the game.
  5. Utility and Damage in one package!: Thing has damage reduction, damage amplification, percentage damage, and grounded effects, he has a lot of utility for a 1 Star Tank, sure he might not be able to 1v1 every hero like Thor, but he does bring value to the team.
  6. Fast and cheap ult: I love having cheap ult that charges super Fast like Thing's, which makes for an active playstyle.
  7. Lowkey team up with Hulk is the only team up in the game I actually care enough about.: I never bothered with team ups in this game, I just forget to use them, but the Hulk team up makes Thing do so much damage and have much better survivability, it's a crime not to use it!
  8. Wholesome Character: in Lore he does indeed have a heart of Gold, a true Punkrocker!
  9. Mobility + Unstoppable effect: I don't know about you I hate being swallowed by Jeff because the hitbox is unfair sometimes, so I always love any character with this effect in their kit because I can ignore stuns completely. also mobility in this game makes life so much better.
  10. Potential Buffs: He's decent right now, but he does have potential for buffs, for example I'd really like it if his Jumps didn't share a cooldown, between ally jumps and enemy jumps, that would make his commits so much smoother and easier to land.

We need to focus on what's needed for Adam at the moment to be a great support.

I know there is a survey out there, and it's definitely a great move, I have also been trying to spread awareness for Adam's current state on the main sub, if you ever saw a post complaining about Soul bond, that was me.

Yes it would be nice if Adam got new tech, or methods of healing, but ultimately he's flawed on a fundamental level.

let's focus on what we don't have.

  • Adam still does 15% less raw healing than before and it's never been seriously addressed.

This is the biggest culprit, he lost 15% raw healing on all of his healing abilities and they never addressed it, like no matter how often I can recharge my Avatar ability, it will still do 15% less than before. we need to be vocal enough about this and ask for REAL compensation.

the bare minimum is to compensate us for the lost healing using raw numbers, just as they did with all the other heroes that lost their team up bonuses.

  • Soul Bond is extremely outdated

Adam is a season 0 hero, and at season 1, rez comp was a powerful team up that was tied to one of the best characters in the game, StarLord and Mantis, that's why Soul bond got nerfed twice. well rez comp team up is long gone, Soul bond is extremely outdated, especially with the amount of damage in the game now.

the bare minimum is to bring it back to 30 seconds and make it reset on death.

  • his fall off damage is extremely outdated

Adam's primary attacks damage starts to fall off hard after 25 meters, that's not poke range, that's mid range at best, I actually don't need Adam to do more raw damage, I just want his fall off to be rightfully adjusted at respectable ranges, to match that of other poke heroes.

the bare minimum is to have Adam's poke range damage increased, at least to 40 meters.

Yes it would be nice if his primary heals, or if he had passive healing overtime, but ultimately you're doing the same thing that Netease is doing, you're experimenting around his actual issues and never addressing them hands on.

I for one would like Adam to have more health, 275, I even dream of 300 sometimes, since he's still a frontline support with 0 stuns, or personal self heals (you need to expend one of your main healing tools to heal yourself) but I know if he did get his health buffed without the above issues addressed, then we didn't really change anything about his performance overall.

that's just my 2 cents on the topic of buffing Adam.

What do you think is the future for Daredevil in upcoming patchnotes/seasons?

So after all the serious nerfs, where do you think the Devs will take DD? will they keep him as is, or change his playstyle to brawl like they did with Iron Fist?

I don't think you can nerf his damage any longer, in fact, Devil's chain is still such a waste of an ability in my opinion and needs either percentage damage, or a secondary special effect.

since they nerfed his effective range, he relies more on brawling than Diving, but the problem is that he's not built for Brawl.

Brawl DPS need high damage, lots of health, and a shield that can be used consistently

Look at Wolverine, lots of percentage damage, lots of health starting at 350 + his passive, and a damage reduction ability.

Blade, 350 health, ok Damage after various buffs, and a rechargable shield.

I am just genuinely curious where they'll take this character.

Reflexive Rubber needs a damage buff.

There are a lot of buff variations I can give Reed, mainly 5 extra damage for his inflated form attacks, but also, Reflexive Rubber really needs a damage buff.

it's extremely outdated

0nly absorbing 60% of the damage taken to shoot one projectile doing at most 180 damage, it's just not good.

make it 100%, and turn the projectile into an AOE like Squirrel Girl's acorns with damage fall off on the blast radius.

Do you guys have a version of this image for Thor?

Or is Thor too hardcore to look like that? lol

u/Niteowl_245 — 16 days ago

As an Adam enthusiast, with 100 hours, I tried out Luna Snow just to see what the fuss is all about...

Dear God what in God's sacred earth were they thinking when buffing this character?
You know I saw the damage before and felt like it was absurd, but you know what's even more infuriating?

I noticed that I have a lot of quick uptime on my abilities....until I read the description under each ability.

THEY BUFFED ICE ARTS TO REDUCE IT'S COOLDOWN WITH ASSISTS.
AND THEY REDUCED FREEZE COOLDOWN TO 12 SECONDS WHEN IT WAS 15 SECONDS.

This character bro legitimately took everything that was unique about Off supports and doubled it. I am beyond appalled, I am flabbergasted.

I was struggling so hard with Adam with each match, because Adam in my opinion is the second hardest character to master after Spidey. and even though I am lord and almost champion, I still find matches extremely difficult to sip through, I have to put extra effort to make him work as the average support, and still isn't enough.

While Luna is the wildest of wild cards, I honestly might just switch for a while until they respect Adam enough and not give him piss poor buffs.
