(this post is analyzing Christianity specifically, might not be relevant to other religions and world views)

For starters, I already naturally have no desire for plenty of things... not sure who determined that but it is not something I chose. I suppose you can say that means I have a diminished free will on some spectrum, compared to someone with a desire to do more things... but it definitely doesn't mean I have no free will.

If I added sinful desires to that already existing list, I don't think that would change anything

As I understand it, that is how we are supposed to be in heaven anyways, although I've heard from reddit Christians that we will have no free will in heaven, we might still sin, etc so still not sure exactly how that whole concept is rationalized

I enjoy the song "In Your Own Sweet Way" by Wes Montgomery, and today on a random youtube playlist realized his version was not the original and he had transcribed the melody into jazz guitar chords.. then realized a lot of my songs are the same, the melody comes from the intricate chord progression but I don't actually know what it is

I assume the root note or the highest note in the chord but it doesn't seem to follow either exact pattern when I think of some of my songs

Long story short, some dude was committing some voyeurism and presumably taking photos or videos of me and someone else having sex (they are roommates.)

I confronted him about it, he admitted to it, and I asked him to show me his camera roll.... Then we left cuz she was freaked out. We reported to police the next day, and he moved out voluntarily that week. We spoke with a cop who took our sides of the story and said a detective would reach out soon

They never reached out, so she stopped by the police station to inquire and they said there is no case cuz there is no evidence or admission of guilt

She is pretty upset. I understand if they can't charge him but pretty shitty to tell us a detective would reach out then just drop the case with no communication

I am not an AI bro, but it is pretty funny to watch how people rationalize some of their views

Most common question: "How do I clear my sample"

The answer is always: "You don't, just release the music"

But any use of AI is "You are stealing from other artists!"

Someone just posted a "vibe coded" music production teaching tool, it looks polished but is a bit unnecessary, and most importantly the info is WRONG. They admitted they are a dev and not even a music producer, just vibe coding stuff for no reason with inaccurate info.

The comments: "Thanks bro! This is great!"

Oh brother...

A big thing in the hiphop music production community is just downloading loops and putting drums over them, many of those producers don't actually know much about composing music other than programming drums

I am not interested in listening to AI generated music. But it is pretty hard to rationalize why it would be wrong to generate some drum loop or piano sample and drop it into your daw

Very strange mindsets, lacking any self awareness

I know the answer can be "it means whatever you want it to mean personally" but if feels like a non answer

Pants not having pockets is a common complaint I see among women. I am wondering, why? I totally recognize the pitfalls of capitalism, but it seems if women wanting pockets in their pants there would be a simple response and action taken.

I label this as lighthearted because it is mostly an internet meme I see, something not fundamental to feminism or whatever. Just an interesting trend I notice but don't quite understand. This is not supposed to be some gotcha or dumb question, I am really curious.

If pants for women with pockets were a big deal to women, seems it should be blown up as a product. What are your thoughts?

I was at a friends house and we were in her room being intimate, she had the door cracked cuz her cat goes in and out of the room. I was not aware she had a roommate home and also staying on the same floor, so in retrospect I think having the door open was a strange decision but oh well

We are talking for a bit after and I looked at the door and saw someone was sticking their iphone camera around the crack of the door. I was shocked and shouted what the fuck and the person scurried away.

Then we got dressed and went outside to talk, she decided to get her cat and leave and go to her parents house. I went back in with her to get her stuff. I guess she didn't know who it was since she has 3 roommates total but I figured it was the dude staying on the same floor so I just went in and asked him if he did that and he admitted to it

I asked him to show me his camera roll and private folders, I should have asked to see his recently deleted too but I wasn't thinking totally clear

Then we left, the guy ended up moving out about a week later and she moved back in, and there is some on going investigation I guess

When I asked for examples of sins other than homosexuality that do not cause harm here on earth, one of the few examples was "white lies". Although my understanding is those are not sins anyways
