Re: The Alleged Leaks and Animation Production (No spoilers in fact even if you saw it you probably are not spoiled)

I want to start by saying that I have not seen the leaked footage. This post has zero spoilers.
This post is about animation and film production.
A friend of mine that I used to work with in game dev (he left for a computer animation studio) was unlucky enough to happen across the “leaked final episode” in his feed before he knew what was up.
However, he reached out to me and I think what he said may be helpful to many of us:

Hey so TikTok jump scares me this morning with screener footage from TADC Last Act. Like, don’t go looking for it because I know you hate ANY spoilers but if you see it by accident, like I did, don’t worry too much.
What I saw was not in any kind of cohesive chronological order (yes I stayed to watch in for a penny in for a pound bite me) but there’s no order to the footage, there is temp music stubbed in, and temp 3D artwork. This is marked as an accessibility screener so my guess is that this is their animation effects reel along with some dialogue and a bit of context.
You’ll like this. During the most important of scenes there is no character dialogue. Just like we used to do. So that bright light effect could be anyone*
Anyhow, may the gods be ever in your favor.

What he said makes sense to me, and I hope it provides anyone else that was jump scared with a bit of relief.
In games we create these too for reviews and accessibility tests. Usually called a vertical slice— there are characters, VO, and *effects in there that will never be seen by a player- but we need them for other reasons like testing/reviewing.
I think whomever leaked this, leaked a vertical slice without knowing.
