I posted yesterday an idea for a basic logo/mark for my photography brand. It’s purely a hobby, I just need something I can put on a shirt so that people know
I’m there in an official capacity as I’ve been asked to shoot some events in the coming months.

The general feedback was that the shutter is overused, I didn’t need ‘creative’ and ‘photography’ and to drop the black borders on the graphic. Add in some kerning issues, and I needed to redo it.

There was some positivity around windmill and shutters/blades so I’ve created a rough draft of something - I’m coming cap in hand asking for any feedback on whether the idea has legs.

My insta page is Windmill Creative, and it would be nice to signpost there even though I’m not actively posting there at the moment.

So, I’ve taken the aperture blades and created a Windmill from them. I’m not convinced, but I thought I’d ask here before scrapping it.

Edit: Thanks to everyone who’s given some feedback, I’ll go over them and see what I can come up with. I just need something simple that I can stick on a shirt so people know I’m the hired photographer. My Instagram is “Windmill Creative” - so I should drop the ‘photographer’, despite people saying to drop the ‘creative’. Haha

Hello Redditors! I am a keen photographer. It’s a hobby, not looking to turn it into a business.

That said, I’ve been shooting a few events lately and I’ve been asked to do a couple more in the coming weeks.

I’d like to get a couple of polo shirts/jumpers made up with a basic logo and “photographer” it a matching font along the back.

The aperture symbol has a hint of ‘Windmill’ to it, so I thought it kind of worked.

Is this good enough?
Is it too cliche?
Is it too dull?
Is the weighting and balance ok?

Or should I scrap it and continue to look blankly at a screen without inspiration!

Hoping this is the right place - I had a prom photo shoot which was initially planned to be outdoors until the rain set in. I spent an hour on the shoot itself, then editing time on top. Ideally, I’d use diffusers and improve the overall lighting, but I don’t have that kit and the indoor aspect was very last minute. I’ve come away with about 40 final photos, I’ve aimed for some candid/silly (they’re 16 afterall), some others and additional ones with family members.

Would love some CC, and an idea on whether this could be chargeable work (I did it for free)

As per my older post, Sphairistike was patented in 1847, the product was a box of all the equipment needed to mark out a court, and play lawn tennis. The paperwork included “or lawn tennis” because Sphairistike was impossible to pronounce.

So, that got me thinking, are there any tennis nerd that would be interested in wearing a little bit of history?
