Why did you choose Ball State over IU Bloomington?

I’m currently at IU Kokomo and I’m debating transferring to either Ball State or IU Bloomington. One of the biggest reasons I want to transfer is to actually have a college experience and make friends since IU Kokomo is a small commuter school.

The only thing is I’m pretty introverted. I don’t smoke, drink, or party, so I’m worried Bloomington might be a little overwhelming for me. I still want to get out of my comfort zone and meet people though.

For those of you who chose Ball State over IU Bloomington, what made you pick Ball State? Do you regret it, or are you happy with your decision?

Is IU Bloomington worth it if you don’t drink or party?

Hey everyone, I go to IU Kokomo and I’m a rising junior. Honestly, it’s been hard socially because it’s such a commuter school. Everyone just goes to class and heads home, so it’s been tough to make friends, and the campus is really small.

I’ve been debating transferring to IU Bloomington for more of the college experience, but I’m also pretty introverted and don’t drink, smoke, or party. I do want to get out of my shell and meet people though.

Do you think IU Bloomington would still be a good fit, or would Ball State or IU Indy make more sense? I’d love to hear from people who’ve been in a similar situation.

Considering Transferring to Ball State – Need Some Advice

I’m seriously considering transferring to Ball State this fall as a rising junior, but there are two things holding me back.

First, I’d need to find either a roommate or an affordable place to live off campus. Second, I’d need a part-time job that’s flexible with a college schedule.

I’ve been looking on Indeed and LinkedIn, but there don’t seem to be many student-friendly jobs posted. Is it difficult to find a job in Muncie as a Ball State student, or are there places that commonly hire students that just don’t advertise online?

I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations from current students. Thanks!

How is Ball State honestly for transfer students?

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about transferring to Ball State this fall as a rising junior. The first two years I went to a small commuter school, and honestly it was a pretty lonely experience. It felt like everyone just came to class and went home, so it was really hard to make friends or have much of a social life.

One of the main reasons I’m considering transferring is because I actually want the college experience. I want to meet people, make friends, get involved, and build connections. For those of you who transferred here, did Ball State feel different? Was it easier to meet people and make friends?

I’m an accounting major, and if I transfer I’d be living in an apartment near campus instead of the dorms. Does living off campus make it harder to have a social life, or is there still plenty going on?

I’d love to hear your honest opinions, especially from other transfer students.

Got a Nissan Recall Notification… Can This Wait Until My Next Oil Change?

I got a recall notification on my Nissan app for my Nissan Kicks, but after reading through it I’m still confused about what the recall is actually for and how serious it is.

The closest Nissan dealership is about an hour away from me, so I really don’t want to make a special trip just for this. My plan was to just have the recall done when I’m due for my next oil change in a couple of months.

Would it be okay to leave it alone until then, or is this something that needs to be taken care of right away? Has anyone else gotten this recall and can explain it in simple terms?

Why do Nissan dealerships charge completely different prices for oil changes?

I have a 2026 Nissan Kicks so I’m pretty sure it needs full synthetic oil, and I called 4 different Nissan dealerships asking how much an oil change costs and got completely different answers. One said around $60, another said $65, another said $90, and another quoted me over $100. These are all dealership prices too.

My main question is, is there actually any difference between going to the cheapest Nissan dealership oil change versus the most expensive one? Or is it basically the same thing and some dealers just charge more?

Also, do you guys think it’s best to just get oil changes done at a Nissan dealership, or is Take 5/Jiffy Lube perfectly fine? I only ask because the closest Nissan dealership to me is about a 45 minute drive, so it’s kinda inconvenient.

Just curious what most people with newer Nissans do.

Touchless Car Wash Membership Help: Is the $40 Package Actually Worth It Over the $33?

I’m looking at getting a membership at this touchless car wash for my new car and wanted some opinions on which package is actually worth it. All memberships are limited to 15 washes per month. I’m mainly debating between the $33 Protect & Clean and the $40 Ultimate Shine package. Is the extra stuff on the $40 package actually noticeable or worth paying more for long term paint protection, or should I just save the money and go with the $33 one? Also, how often do you guys usually wash your car with memberships like this?

Is the top touchless wash membership actually worth it over the middle tier or just marketing?

Which touchless monthly membership would you choose and why? All are limited to 15 washes per month. Is the $40 one actually worth it over the $33 or is it basically the same?

Accidentally put wrong mileage during title transfer at BMV. Does it matter/how do I fix it?

Me and my dad traded cars and went to the BMV to do the title transfers. On the paperwork for the car I’m giving him, I accidentally wrote 20,000 miles when the car actually has around 15,000. We didn’t realize until after everything was done.

Does this even matter since it was just a mistake between family members and not a sale to a stranger? If it does matter, how would I go about fixing it? Has anyone dealt with this before?

How are you guys realistically paying for college/life while attending IUB?

I’m debating transferring from IUK since I currently live with my parents, and most of my grants cover tuition there. I only pay around $1k a semester out of pocket for tuition right now, so moving away honestly seems like a huge financial jump.

Housing + food alone around Indy seems like it could easily be $1,000-$1,500/month. Then add tuition, gas, insurance, phone bill, car payment, random life expenses, and even just wanting to do fun stuff sometimes, and it feels like total monthly expenses could hit $2k-$3k+ pretty fast.

Are most students:
- working while in school?
- getting help from parents?
- taking loans?
- using scholarships?
- or just surviving paycheck to paycheck? 😭

If you work while in school, how many hours a week are you realistically working? It feels like you’d almost need 25-30+ hours/week just to make it work, and balancing that with classes, studying, networking, meeting new people, school activities, and still trying to actually enjoy college seems really hard.

Is this small spec worth getting retinted or let it go since I know not every tint job is 100% perfect and I should expect 1 or 2 specs. Got it done 3 weeks ago

Seems like 99% of people got a beta code while I never got one. I played UFC 4 and 5 since the start and made sure I signed up correctly linking my PSN account and I even got the approved status on the website. Checked my emails and spam/junk and got no code. Fucking got left out

I just bought a Nissan Kicks 2026 SR and I’m kinda having some buyer’s remorse.

The car itself has been fine so far, no real issues. But after buying it, I started seeing a lot of posts and comments online about Nissan reliability and especially CVT problems, and it’s honestly getting in my head a bit.

I was also considering stuff like the Toyota Corolla Cross and Honda HR-V, which seem to have a better reputation overall, so now I’m second guessing my decision.

For people who own a Kicks:

What made you choose it?
How has it been long-term?
Any regrets or things I should watch out for?
Just looking for honest feedback from actual owners.

I’ve been getting quotes of $1000+ for paint correction and ceramic coating and I’m trying to figure out if it’s actually worth it or if I could just do it myself.

From my perspective it seems kinda simple like you just correct the paint, then apply the ceramic coating spray and wipe it in with a towel. But I feel like I’m definitely oversimplifying it and there’s way more that goes into it which is why shops charge so much.

For anyone that’s done it themselves, is it actually doable for a beginner or is this one of those things that looks easy but is really easy to mess up?

Just trying to decide if I should attempt it or leave it to the pros.
