Anyone that had any personal experiences with an SNS reset for chronic pelvic floor tension/pain

I’m trying to learn more about something called an SNS/Sympathetic Reset, particularly the version where an amniotic biologic/fluid is used after a sympathetic block such as a Ganglion Impar or Superior Hypogastric Plexus block.
I’m asking because someone close to me has been dealing with severe pelvic floor tension and pelvic/rectal pain for about six years, and so many conventional treatments haven’t provided lasting relief.
For anyone who has had this procedure, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.
A few questions:
What exactly is the amniotic fluid/biologic supposed to do when injected around the sympathetic nerves?
Is the goal to reduce inflammation, calm irritated nerves, change pain signaling, or actually help “reset” the sympathetic nervous system?
How is this different from a regular Ganglion Impar or Superior Hypogastric Plexus block?
Did it actually reduce pelvic floor tension, or did it mainly help with pain?
If your pelvic floor muscles were constantly tight or in spasm, did the treatment allow them to finally relax?
How long did it take before you noticed a difference?
Was the improvement temporary or long-lasting?
Did anyone have this specifically for pelvic floor hypertonicity, rectal/perineal pain, pudendal-type symptoms, vulvar pain, or chronic pelvic pain?
Were there any side effects or complications?
Did you have the procedure with or without steroids?
Most importantly, did it help when pelvic floor PT, Botox, trigger-point injections, nerve treatments, medications, or other muscle-focused treatments had already failed?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who had severe pelvic floor tension for years, rather than people who only had general chronic pain.
I know this isn’t a guaranteed treatment and that the evidence for the amniotic component may be limited, so I’m not looking for medical advice. I’m just trying to understand what the fluid is actually supposed to accomplish and whether anyone has experienced a meaningful change in long-standing pelvic floor tension.
If you’ve had an SNS/Sympathetic Reset, especially involving the Ganglion Impar or Superior Hypogastric Plexus, please share your experience. I’d really appreciate hearing both positive and negative experiences.

I watched someone I care about get emotionally torn down by someone who was supposed to love her — am I seeing this wrong?

I’m writing this because I’ve watched someone I care deeply about go through something that genuinely hurt to witness, and I’d really like to hear other people’s perspectives.
Her ex repeatedly accused her of things without having any real evidence. Instead of communicating with her or trusting her, he would make accusations and treat her like she had to constantly prove her innocence.
What made it even worse was that he always seemed to have some lame excuse or justification for everything he did. Instead of taking accountability when his behavior hurt her, there was always a reason why it was supposedly okay. But having an excuse doesn’t change the impact your behavior has on someone. When the same patterns keep happening and someone is constantly being made to feel guilty, insecure, or like they’re the problem, that’s emotional abuse.
What bothered me even more was the way he talked about her body. She already struggled with feeling insecure about herself, and instead of making her feel beautiful, safe, and loved, his comments made those insecurities worse.
He also used things she had been through in the past and her mental-health struggles against her. Her trauma should have been something he treated with compassion, not something he used to invalidate her feelings or make her question herself.
Watching someone slowly lose confidence because of the person who was supposed to make them feel safe is heartbreaking.
I’m not posting this just to bash him or start drama. I genuinely want outside opinions because sometimes when you’re close to a situation, it’s difficult to know whether you’re seeing things clearly.
Do you consider this emotional abuse? At what point do repeated accusations, body-shaming, using someone’s trauma against them, and constantly making excuses for hurtful behavior cross the line?
I’d genuinely appreciate honest perspectives, even if you disagree with me. I’m trying to understand whether I’m looking at this objectively or if there’s something I’m missing.

Follow-up to my previous post — how can I best reassure her before and after her procedure?

This is a follow-up to my other post about my friend being prescribed **Valium for the day of her procedure**. She has very severe anxiety surrounding medications and medical procedures, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to support her through the entire experience.
Her procedure is about **2 hours away from home**, so after the procedure we’ll have a 2-hour drive back. I know she may be tired, emotional, anxious, or just not feel completely like herself afterward, and I want to be the person who helps her feel safe and reassured.
For anyone who has experienced severe procedure anxiety or has been in a similar situation:
What can I say to reassure her before the procedure?
How can I remind her that she’s safe without making her feel like I’m dismissing her anxiety?
What should I do if she starts panicking or repeatedly asks if she’s okay?
What are some reassuring things I can say during the drive home?
Is it better to talk and distract her, let her rest, or simply stay close and reassure her?
What did someone do or say for you that made you genuinely feel safe after a procedure?
How can I make the 2-hour trip home feel as calm and comfortable as possible?
I really want to be her **calm person throughout the whole day**. I don’t want to just say “don’t worry” or “you’re fine.” I want her to actually feel that she’s safe, that I’m there with her, and that we can take everything one step at a time.
If you’ve been in a similar situation, I’d really appreciate hearing what helped you feel reassured before and after a procedure.

Very anxious about taking Valium — worried about medication side effects

My friend has really bad anxiety about taking medication in general, and Valium (diazepam) has made that anxiety even worse after she started reading about the possible side effects and the risk of dependence.
She needs to take Valium to help her get through some upcoming nerve blocks, including a superior hypogastric plexus block and ganglion impar block. Her anxiety around medical procedures is already pretty severe, so she feels like she needs something to help her relax, but she’s now scared to even take the medication.
She keeps reading that Valium can be addictive and habit-forming, and that has made her worry that something bad could happen even if she’s only taking it for a procedure.
For anyone who has severe anxiety about taking medications and has used Valium for a procedure:
How did you get comfortable taking it?
Did knowing you were only taking it occasionally help with the anxiety?
What was your experience with the side effects?
Did Valium actually make your procedure anxiety better?
Has anyone taken it specifically before a superior hypogastric plexus block or ganglion impar block?
Were you able to take it without becoming dependent on it?
She’s really looking for reassurance from people who have been in a similar situation because the fear of taking the medication itself is becoming almost as stressful as the procedure.

Blurred vision after nerve block with steroid — could the steroid be the cause, and can upcoming blocks be done without it?

Hi everyone. I’m hoping to hear from people who have had nerve blocks for pelvic pain/tension.
After a perdunal nerve block, she experienced **blurred vision in her left eye that lasted about 30 minutes**. The injection included a steroid, and she is wondering if the steroid could have caused the temporary blurred vision or if this is something that should be considered abnormal and reported to her doctor.
She is also considering upcoming **superior hypogastric plexus and ganglion impar blocks** for her chronic pelvic floor tension and pain. She is wondering:
Has anyone had either of these blocks **without a steroid**, using only a local anesthetic such as lidocaine or Marcaine/bupivacaine?
Can these blocks still be effective for pelvic pain and pelvic floor tension without the steroid?
How long did the relief last when you had the block without steroid?
Did the block actually reduce the underlying pelvic floor tension, or mainly the pain?
Has anyone experienced temporary blurred vision or other unusual symptoms after a steroid-containing nerve block?
She plans to discuss doing the upcoming blocks **without steroids** with her pain specialist, especially because of the vision episode. I’d really appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience with these blocks, particularly for chronic pelvic/perineal tension and pain.
**Also, if anyone has had temporary vision changes after a nerve block, what did your doctor tell you about it?**

Ganglion Impar Block vs. Superior Hypogastric Plexus Block for Pelvic Tension/Pain — What anesthetic was used and how effective was it?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for people who have had either a ganglion impar block or a superior hypogastric plexus block for chronic pelvic pain, pelvic/perineal tension, vulvar pain, rectal pain, or similar symptoms.
I’m especially interested in hearing about the medications/anesthetics used during the blocks. For example:
Was Marcaine/bupivacaine used?
Was lidocaine used?
Were both used together?
Was a steroid such as dexamethasone or another corticosteroid included?
Did you have the block with local anesthetic only, without steroids?
Effectiveness
For those who had these blocks, how effective were they for your symptoms?
Specifically, did the block help with:
Pelvic floor/pelvic tension
Perineal tightness or pressure
Vulvar pain
Rectal/anal pain or pressure
Burning or aching
Pudendal-type symptoms
Muscle tightness that seems to happen because of the pain
Did you experience immediate relief from the local anesthetic, and if so, how long did it last? If a steroid was used, did you notice additional improvement over the following days or weeks?
I’m also interested in whether anyone had a temporary reduction in pelvic tension even if the block didn’t completely eliminate the pain.
Side effects
What side effects did you experience afterward?
For example:
Increased pain temporarily
Numbness
Tingling
Changes in bowel movements
Changes in urination
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Headache
Bleeding/bruising
Increased pelvic pressure
Temporary weakness
Any unusual sensations in the pelvis, rectum, vagina, or perineum
And how long did those side effects last?
Most importantly
If you’ve had both a ganglion impar block AND a superior hypogastric plexus block, which one helped you more and what symptoms did each one target?
Also, if you had either block without steroids, I’d especially appreciate hearing about your experience.
Thanks in advance! I’m trying to understand whether either of these blocks could potentially help with chronic pelvic tension/pain and what people’s actual experiences have been.

Anyone currently or formerly worked for Amtrak? Looking for experiences with Engineer Trainee, Conductor/OBS, Customer Service & Train Cleaning jobs

Hey everyone! I’m seriously interested in getting into Amtrak and I’ve applied to several positions, including positions related to Passenger Engineer Trainee, Passenger Conductor Trainee, On-Board Services/Train Attendant, customer service, and train/station cleaning.
I’m trying to get a realistic idea of what it’s actually like to work for Amtrak from people who have been there.
For anyone who currently works for Amtrak or has worked there before:
What position did you have and what was your overall experience?
What is the pay like when you first start, and how does it increase over time?
What are the typical shifts like?
Are you working mostly days, nights, weekends, holidays, or a mixture?
How does scheduling work? Do you have a set schedule or are you on an extra board/rotating schedule?
How much overtime is available?
For Engineer/Conductor Trainees, how difficult is the training?
How long did it take you to qualify?
For OBS/Train Attendants, what is the day-to-day work actually like?
How much of the job is customer service versus cleaning, food service, luggage, etc.?
For people who worked in train cleaning or station services, what was that job like physically?
How often do you have to travel or stay away from home?
How is the work-life balance?
How are the benefits and union?
How difficult is it to get hired?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who were not already railroad employees when they got hired.
For some background, I’ve been a federal employee for about a year, and someone else I know who is also interested has been a federal employee for about five years. We’re wondering whether federal employment experience gives us any advantage when applying to Amtrak, or whether Amtrak mainly looks at railroad/customer-service/technical experience.
I’ve applied to multiple Amtrak positions because I’m genuinely interested in making the switch, so I’d really appreciate hearing the good, bad, and ugly from current or former employees.
If you work at Amtrak now, what position would you recommend to someone trying to get their foot in the door?

UAE helped the painful lumps/tension in the labia, but deeper pelvic/perineal tension is still there , could this be a nerve issue?

I’m posting this because I’m trying to understand what could be going on with my friend and whether anyone else has experienced something similar after a uterine artery embolization (UAE).
She had been dealing with severe pelvic tension and pain for a long time. Before the UAE, she would sometimes feel what she described as **lumps or hard areas of intense tension in her labia**, and those areas could become very painful and uncomfortable.
She recently had a **UAE**, and something interesting happened afterward: **the lumps/tight areas in her labia went away, and the pain associated with them also disappeared.** That part has improved significantly.
However, she still has a persistent feeling of **deep pelvic tension**, particularly in the **perineum and around the anal/rectal area**. It feels like there is a constant pulling, tightness, or pressure that she can’t get to release.
This has made us wonder whether the original symptoms and the remaining symptoms could have different causes.
**Could this be a nerve issue?**
Could something involving the **pudendal nerve, sacral nerves, pelvic plexus, or another pelvic nerve** cause this type of persistent tension or feeling of contraction in the perineum and anal area?
She has already had nerve-focused treatments in the past, so we’re also wondering:
**If this isn’t a nerve problem, what else could cause this kind of persistent pelvic/perineal/anal tension?**
Could it potentially be related to:
Blood flow or vascular issues
Uterine or pelvic organ issues
Inflammation
Vulvar/vaginal conditions
Pelvic congestion
Fascia or connective tissue
Muscles that are reacting to another underlying problem rather than being the original cause
Central pain processing/sensitization
Another pelvic structure referring tension or pressure into the perineum/anal area
What’s especially interesting is that the **labial lumps and pain disappeared after the UAE**, while the deeper perineal/anal tension remained.
Has anyone had a UAE and experienced something similar?
Did your UAE improve vulvar/labial pressure, lumps, heaviness, or pain?
Did you continue having deep pelvic or perineal tension afterward?
Did you eventually find an explanation for the remaining symptoms?
Was it ultimately a nerve issue, muscle issue, vascular issue, organ-related issue, or something else?
If doctors ruled out both a nerve problem and a primary pelvic-floor muscle problem, **what did they eventually discover was causing the symptoms?**
What tests or specialists helped you finally figure it out?
We’re particularly interested in hearing from people who had a UAE for **fibroids, adenomyosis, pelvic congestion, or another uterine/pelvic condition** and noticed changes in their vulvar or perineal symptoms afterward.
Any personal experiences, diagnoses, testing, or treatments that helped you figure this out would be really appreciated.

Severe pelvic floor tension for years could a hysterectomy actually help?

I’m posting on behalf of someone close to me who has been dealing with severe pelvic floor/vaginal tension for several years, and we’re trying to figure out whether a hysterectomy could potentially help her situation.
She has had persistent tension/pressure in the pelvic floor and vaginal/vulvar area for years. It can feel like everything is constantly clenched or extremely tight, and it has significantly affected her quality of life.
She has already tried a lot of different treatments, including pelvic floor physical therapy, Botox, trigger-point injections, dry needling, nerve-related treatments/procedures, and other pain-management approaches. Unfortunately, none of these have provided a lasting solution.
She has also had imaging and evaluations looking at the nerves and pelvic structures, and nothing has clearly explained why the tension continues. That’s part of what makes this so frustrating — the symptoms are very real and severe, but there doesn’t seem to be one obvious cause.
She has also been dealing with uterine issues, including possible adenomyosis, which has made us wonder whether the uterus could somehow be contributing to the pelvic pain/tension.
She is now considering a hysterectomy, but we are very hesitant to assume that removing the uterus will fix the problem.
For anyone who has experience with something similar:
Did you have severe pelvic floor tension before your hysterectomy?
Did a hysterectomy actually improve the pelvic floor tightness, pressure, or vaginal/vulvar symptoms?
If you had adenomyosis or another uterine condition, did removing the uterus make a noticeable difference?
Did your pelvic floor tension continue afterward?
Did you have pelvic floor dysfunction that wasn’t directly caused by the uterus?
Were there any unexpected symptoms or complications after surgery?
If a hysterectomy didn’t help, what eventually did?
Would you recommend getting another opinion before having the surgery?
We understand that a hysterectomy isn’t a guaranteed treatment for pelvic floor dysfunction, and we’re not expecting Reddit to diagnose her. We’re mainly hoping to hear real experiences from women who had similar symptoms before and after hysterectomy.
She has been dealing with this for years and has already tried so many different treatments, so we’re trying to make the most informed decision possible before taking such a major step.
Any personal experiences, especially from people who had chronic pelvic floor tension + suspected/confirmed adenomyosis, would be greatly appreciated.

Compliment or disrespect

I have a friend who’s recently out of a relationship, and something that’s really been bothering me is the way her ex spoke to her about her body.
He knew she was deeply insecure about her appearance and her weight. She had opened up to him multiple times about struggling with body dysmorphia and not liking the way she looked. She was vulnerable with him and trusted him enough to tell him how much these insecurities affected her.

Despite knowing that, he would make comments like:
“I love your love handles.”
“Your skin is smooth like a potato.”
“Your skin tone looks like Mr. Potato Head.”
He even pulled up a picture of Mr. Potato Head while saying it. He also commented that her legs were “like tree trunks.”
He always claimed he was “just joking” or that he meant it as a compliment, but she never took those comments as compliments. To her, they felt disrespectful and humiliating. Instead of making her feel loved or accepted, they made her feel even more self-conscious and intensified the insecurities she had already shared with him.
I’m genuinely curious how other women would feel if their boyfriend repeatedly made comments like this after knowing how insecure they were about their body.
Would you see these remarks as compliments, playful teasing, emotional cruelty, or something else? If someone knew you struggled with body image and still made comments like these, how would it affect you and the relationship?
I’d really like to hear honest opinions, especially from women who’ve been in similar situations.

Watching my friend get emotionally manipulated has been one of the hardest things I’ve experienced

I’m posting this because I genuinely don’t know what else I could have done.
A close friend of mine has been in a relationship with someone and from everything I’ve personally witnessed, it has been one of the most emotionally unhealthy relationships I’ve ever seen.
What stood out the most was what I felt was emotional manipulation. Whenever she tried to express how she felt or explain that something had hurt her, the conversation would somehow end up being about what she did wrong instead. Instead of her feelings being acknowledged or validated, she’d leave the conversation apologizing or questioning herself. It felt like she was constantly being made to think she was overreacting, too emotional, or imagining things. After enough of those conversations, she started doubting her own judgment. Watching someone slowly lose confidence in their own reality is heartbreaking.
The moments that hurt the most were when she opened up and made herself vulnerable. She would share her fears, insecurities, or pain, and later those same things seemed to get thrown back at her during arguments. It made her afraid to be honest because it felt like anything she shared could eventually be used against her.
From my perspective, there was also a pattern of controlling behavior. There were accusations of cheating without evidence, blocking her during conflicts, giving her the silent treatment, threatening to leave, and creating an environment where she constantly felt like she had to prove herself or earn basic reassurance and self esteem problems. He did crossed many boundaries such as looking through her stuff without asking, yelling at her drunk , calling her sister who has autism and many other horrible things.
One of the hardest parts for me personally was that I felt like he wanted me out of her life. I can’t say for certain what his intentions were, but that’s how it came across to me. I had been helping her every day with her health—driving her to appointments, researching treatments, being there for her mentally and emotionally, checking on her, helping her through some of her darkest moments, and trying to support her however I could. We had dated in the past, but our relationship had become a friendship centered on making sure she wasn’t facing everything alone. From where I stood, it felt like my support became a problem rather than something that was appreciated. I felt like I was being pushed away because I was filling a role that I don’t think he wanted to take on himself. Whether that was actually his motivation, I can’t know, but it was how the situation felt from my perspective. On top of all of this, she has been dealing with severe chronic pelvic pain for years. She already had enough to carry physically and emotionally, and instead of feeling supported, it seemed like she was carrying the weight of the relationship too.
I’ve watched her isolate herself to make him feel better at times but he still emotionally abused her I’ve watched her question whether she was the problem. I’ve watched her become a shell of the person she used to be.
I know there are always two sides to every relationship, and this post reflects only what I personally witnessed and experienced. But seeing someone you care about slowly lose their confidence, stop trusting their own feelings, and believe they’re the problem every time they try to speak up has been devastating. She really struggling with the fallout of the breakup and she at times think she was the problem is there a ton that has dealt with this kind of abuse and how did you get through it.

Am I being too sensitive, or are these signs of a controlling relationship?

I’m looking for outside perspectives because I want to make sure I’m seeing this objectively.
A close friend of mine (who I also dated in the past) has been in a relationship with someone for about seven months. We were friends before we dated, and after we broke up we stayed friends. I’ve continued to help her with medical appointments and emotional support because she’s dealing with ongoing health issues and anxiety, and she has told me she feels calmer having someone there who understands her medical history.
Her current boyfriend has become increasingly upset about my involvement. From what I’ve personally witnessed and what she’s shared with me:
He’s told her that if I’m present at one of her medical appointments, he’ll end the relationship.
She’s said she sometimes feels like she has to prove I’m not with her, including showing him her car.
He frequently brings me up during unrelated arguments.
He has made personal insults about me including my looks the way I asked, and things like that constantly slandering me.
She has told me she doesn’t feel emotionally safe opening up to him because she’s afraid of how he’ll react.
When she has get major anxiety from things that he’s done, he gets upset with her or tells her feel free to feel triggered at time
They scheduled couples counseling, but he didn’t attend the first session. He rescheduled it so she wants to give him another chance.
On a personal note, I also believe he took my Nintendo Switch, sold it, and later had possession of my debit card, which has been canceled a long time ago, but he had possession of it in his wallet.
I’ve done my best to respect their relationship and haven’t encouraged her to leave him or interfere with their relationship. My focus has simply been supporting a friend through significant medical issues when she asks for help.
From an outside perspective, do these behaviors sound like signs of unhealthy jealousy, manipulation, or controlling behavior? Or could I be too close to the situation and misinterpreting what’s happening?
I’m genuinely looking for honest opinions, even if they differ from mine.

Am I crazy?

So I have a friend who is also my ex-girlfriend we’ve been friends before we started dating and the new guy that she’s been seeing for the last seven months has been trying to control her life and telling her to get rid of me and things like that I’ve helped her out with her medical stuff and helping out financially because she is struggling and he doesn’t like it. He also manipulates her and uses me as a ultimatum that if I be at one of her medical appointments, then he will break up with her because of me when he hasn’t done any type of research doesn’t care about her mental health to the point where she has to show him her car at times to make sure that I’m not in the car with her then he’s always talking bad about me about how ugly I am and why did she let me have sex with her and all these horrible things am I crazy for thinking that this is manipulation and control? And he also wants her to use me up for medical reasons. And afterwards he wants her to get rid of me so basically use me up and then get rid of me after all. He has also stole my Nintendo switch and sold it and also had my debit card in his wallet that I’ve canceled but try to use it to take away my money and he also burned flowers that I’ve gotten her after she had a surgery while she was out of town for an appointment and was mad that I accompanied her to this appointment because I know what’s actually going on with her medical health and her mental health and she doesn’t feel anxious around me and I know how to ease her anxiety, but she doesn’t feel emotionally safe with him because of this and he’s been doing things that had made her raise her anxiety and he gets upset with her when she has a panic attack of things like that so she feels like she can’t tell him anything at all because he’ll get upset and they’re always arguing and things like that but somehow when there’s nothing else to argue about, he brings me up the discussion he sent her to post about to handle someone with anxiety and he completely disregarded it and started to talk about love Island. When he claims that I’ve been sabotaging their relationship, but I haven’t done anything to sabotage your relationship. I literally have been respecting their relationship, no matter how bad it’s been as of late. He didn’t even show up a couples counseling because he claimed he was asleep after he got off work and he’s the one that paid for it.
