At the time, I was contacted by an animal welfare organisation based in Dublin, the capital of Ireland. They wanted to check on the dog’s health and asked for photos of the tent we lived in and guarded together. I sent the pictures, and in return, I received an overwhelming and extremely rare show of sympathy. They seriously explored the possibility of evacuating the dog from Gaza through partner organisations.

They wanted a better life, a cleaner place, and a wider sky for the dog. No one mentioned me, who was living in a tent unfit even for a dog.""

The first post says "There is so much about modern queer discourse that could be fixed simply by understanding 'straightness' to be a socio-political classification and reward for conformity rather than just a personal identity. " The imaged reply says "if you think about the etymology of the word "straight" referring to being "on the straight and narrow". It means that you're normal, you're conforming. It's more of an antonym to "queer" than it is to "homosexual". The direct meaning has obviously changed but the social side of it remains that as long as you don't conform, you aren't truly "straight". The reply that contains the image says "the only comment in the notes that understood the assignment".
