For me chows have always seemed to be these independent dogs who don't care about strangers. But today I met the most social chow I've ever known. It was a totally random encounter. They walked towards me on the street and started sniffing all over me. So I asked their owner if I could pet them and she said yes. Then I gave them my hand to sniff and soon after I started petting them. They seemed to enjoy it because they rubbed themselves into me. Their coat was surprisingly rough instead of soft.

TlDr: friendly encounter with a random chow.
