Christopher Nolan and the DGA being spineless cowards was not on my Bingo List

This is the kind of truly heartbreaking thing to me that unfortunately puts Nolan's entire oeuvre into a new surprising perspective that sadly renders true to the rest of his material.

Every single one of his movies is about a man getting along in a completely broken world that cannot be fixed. Chiefly Interstellar which ironically was a Paramount Warner Bros. Co-production that would never happen under a merged company.

I rewatched The Dark Knight (my favourite Nolan film and a masterpiece) ahead of The Odyssey and read its most ardent negative reviews, among them Armond White who hates the film for a lot of the reasons you and I like it but detested the film's cynicism. I get that now and now even moreso with Nolan putting his hands up saying this ship has sailed nothing we can do. Emma Thomas said as much in a Cinemacon interview earlier this year.

And Emily Wilson's critique of The Odyssey makes a lot more sense. Presenting a world that's already gone before the film gets started. The hero has ransacked a paradise at the cost of great shame by undoing it from the inside. The film presents no solution or consequence to Odysseus himself for this and he gets to hand off the kingdom to his children and sail into the sea with his wife.

All they had to do is what Sean Astin did with SAG and simply say we support the WGA and states lawsuit and do nothing, but putting political pressure on the state AG when they are in the right and stopping a merger that violates the Clayton Act with the Philadelphia Bank Standard of theatrical monopoly AFTER all his professing about the sacredness of the theatrical experience shows he doesn't care.

Just like how he agreed to have a theatre named after him where people have to take out their cell phones to order food. He's taking steps to ensure fewer filmmakers can have what he has and under the guise of protecting jobs amid uncertainty.

It's truly all time heel turn.

What would the payout be on the Warnermount merger failing in a Supreme Court decision that led to Trump going to jail?

It would involve the merger first being stopped, appealed, a discovery motion that both parties agreed to go through they led to significant information being revealed that validated the Paramount shareholder lawsuit and then providing evidence that would lead to a conviction years down the road. In order for that to happen the merger would have to be delayed for more than a year and then wouldn't pay out until Trump went to jail which also wouldn't be for another two years and even then there would be no way he gets jail time he would probably take a plea on a fine or something. So given that incredibly unlikely parlay would there even be somebody who would take that bet? Would official markets allow it or would there be restrictions? Could the bet itself be halted for affecting the outcome? Just an idea.

Help me decide which part I need next: Acer TC-780-EB11

Got this PC as a grad gift in 2017, since then I've added up to 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a GTX 1050 ti graphics card.

I'd like to buy a new CPU as I have an intel i5-7400 but I'm afraid due to the motherboard it's on that it's likely maxed out and I'll have to spend hundreds to start all over again. Is there a motherboard I can buy maybe that I can transfer the parts to or get a cpu that will bottleneck less?

What do I add next?

Ranking Every Christopher Nolan Movie from Worst to Best Ahead of The Odyssey

What of Nolan's filmography have you been revisiting and how does it affect your ranking?

My community note was plagiarized

Someone copied my exact note on the same subject using the exact same sources and wording and got a huge rating boost to improve their rating impact. Mine should have been rated for tweets on the same subject but why are writers plagiarizing for invisible Internet points on Twitter community notes?

Blunt Disclosure: Is Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day a Flop or a Hit at the Box Office?

Summary reads: Universal did a great job getting the word out to older audiences in order to get a great opening weekend that has alluded Spielberg for the last 8 years. Spielberg is great with budgets and Universal is great with distribution for event films that after all told and all ancillary revenues have been calculated the film will be profitable guaranteed. Disclosure Day does not have the international collapse that other similar genre films that take place in the south like Sinners, Twisters which Spielberg's company produced, and Nope which it is performing in line with domestically, that even on the low end of expectations the film will be entering the black by the time it leaves theaters.

Guest Request: Steven Spielberg for Disclosure Day

A film director with a movie that just came out about UFO's, that's so far right up Joe's alley he's mentioned the film unprompted on the Harland Williams episode. He's the most successful filmmaker having become a billionaire through pure entertainment and is the richest of the billionaires to do that. He has won 3 Oscars and would have new insight into a lot of Joe's favourite topics. I'm curious how the 3 hours would go.

Why Do So Many Player Voice Options Address Project Helix Instead of Current Consoles?

It has been publicly stated that Helix will be a premium experience, it also is estimated to be late 2027 at the earliest and yet so many of the top suggestions for addressing current issues with Xbox are framed towards Helix. A disc drive; not forthe current Series S but for Helix, free online; not for modern day users but for Helix. These are addressable instant fixes for today yet the posters have constricted thinking to correcting issues years down the line.

No more On Demand Movies? No More Crave HBO Content

I'm a cable subscriber who got the movie network add on during game of thrones which turned into HBO Canada and then Crave. Today I noticed two things: that On Demand wasn't working no movies listed just Francais leading to one show with no movies listed at all and on the Crave App no ability to watch the HBO content which is the only reason I pay to subscribe has anyone else had to deal with this?

Cogeco subscriber lost access to HBO content. What gives?

I have been a Crave subscriber through my Cogeco TV provider, Crave or formerly the Movie Network, then HBO Canada had all the movies and HBO content on it which I paid extra for during Game of Thrones. Now today both on my Cable Box movies on Demand is missing and on the Crave app none of the HBO content is accessible anymore. I cannot find any announcements or changes in the news or on websites for Cogeco or crave but noticed other people on this app losing access to content and wondering if anyone here knew anything.

Might it have anything to do with Paramount WB merger? Maybe all that stuff is migrating but that seems early.

Free Online Should be the most upvoted thing on Player Choice

The current #1 is exclusives, but free online would save Xbox players the most amount of money, strengthen the value of Game Pass, convert PlayStation owners ahead of project helix and make XBOX a competitive platform again.

I am also a big proponent of a Disc Drive For Series S.
