I Want to Build a Fun Deck to Play Against

Hello, all! I want to run a fast paced commander deck that is as fun to play against as possible. I like what I see with things like True Soul Gut or Marchesa, but I don’t know enough about the more obscure commanders to decide what to build while still being fun for me to play as well. I don’t mind if it’s not the most competitive thing in the world, I just want my table to have a really nice time :)

Gloomserker w/ War Cleric Dip?

Hello! I am preparing for a Durge playthrough after a year and a half, and I wanted to make a character that embodies Bhaal. The brutality of a half-orc berserker with the stealth and speed of a gloomstalker ranger seems perfect- plus a one-level dip into cleric for thematic effect and the war cleric lvl 1 ability.

How would you split this multiclass for max efficiency?

Be Honest, V5 or V20?

In the wake of V6’s playtest, and of the general consensus being that it’s straight kidney stones, should I play V5 or V20. I’ve been following the setting for a while, but have never gotten to actually play until now. I’ve heard mixed things about V5- what with the amalgam powers and everything- but I don’t know if V20 is necessarily better. Thoughts?

Was There a Market for Smuggling People Out of the USSR?

Hello! I’m currently researching the Bratva, and wanted to know if there was ever a market for smuggling people/families out of the Soviet Union. Could this have been done if a politically sensitive refugee needed to find asylum, or if a member of the Russian mafia wanted to enjoy their nest egg somewhere without surveillance?

Please Help Me Understand Kindred NPC Populations

This is my first time running VtM, and I am preparing extensively for my chronicle set in Massachusetts Bay (Plymouth, Fall River, Taunton, Brockton). I am having trouble understanding how to fill my setting with story-involved NPCs if there are so few vampires in an area. Does a city Court rule like a shadow government, or is it like an HOA for vampires? How many ghouls does any given vampire have, and how do territorial disputes work? How many underlings per vampire?

How do vampires influence mortal politics in a city, and how separate are they from mortal crime?

For context, my plan is to have a Tremere Chantry in Fall River, a visiting Brujah Biker Gang involved in a human-trafficking ring, and a Ventrue court in Plymouth ruling over the Mass Bay Area. The BBEG influences the party from his haven in Nantucket.

How Many Vampires Could Reasonably Be Here?

Hello, all! I want to run a Puritan themed VtM chronicle for my college group, centering around Massachusetts Bay. The embers of the Puritan religion have flocked to Plymouth, clashing with the more recently embraced vampires who aren’t as religious. How many vampires could reasonably inhabit an area of this size?

Side note: how established is the Boston Court?

Is Horus Stronger Than Sanguinius When Not Juiced by the Dark Gods?

I know that Sanguinius ultimately lost to Horus (rest in peace my GOAT), but if I recall correctly, it was fairly close even when Horus had the concentrated power of Satan x4 flowing through his veins. Sanguinius was also injured at the time if memory serves. Without the chaos gods involved, does Sanguinius win?

Personally, I have to think that he does- albeit with some difficulty.

How Old Can a “Level One” Kindred Be?

Hey, all!

Been wanting to play VtM for the first time, and wanted to roll a Nosferatu who rode the rails during the Great Depression (embraced in 1930ish). I know that generation is a terrible metric for a vampire’s age, but I am unsure how rolling a character works in terms of what generation is suitable for the table. Is this concept doable in a normal setting?

Best Gaming Laptop for Dorm

Hi, all! I’m moving into my college dorm in a couple of weeks, and I won’t be able to take my PC with me. I play a lot of BG3 and other sizable games, and I don’t know what would transfer best. What is the beefiest laptop imaginable?

Budget: $2,000
Use Case: BG3 and extensive Steam library
Specs: I haven’t the faintest clue, I’m terrible at technology
Country: USA

Nos then Malk for Playthroughs?

Heya! I’m an experienced rpg player, and I’ve been looking at Bloodlines for years. I know that I want to play a Malk and a Nos at some point, but I’m not sure if I’ll end up doing more than two playthroughs.

Aside from general difficulty, is there anything wrong with rolling a Nosferatu for a first playthrough? I’ve heard that the Malkavian is a bit more spoilery with the prophecies and such, so I figure that it would be better as a second run.

What are your thoughts?

Medical Horror?

Is there any horror out there that is surgical in nature? I’ve read Johnny Got His Gun (amazing read), and Frankenstein is probably my favorite book of all time, but I’m looking for something that it so intensely invasive that it makes you fear a scalpel.

Would Things Have Been Different if Curze and Corax Swapped Places?

A friend was asking me recently if Konrad Curze and Corvus Corax were basically the same people on different planets. I said no, but it got me to thinking: would Nostramo have been better off with a Primarch that didn’t envision the worst outcome of any scenario? Or, is Nostramo just cursed no matter what happens?

What Did Sith Purebloods Look Like Before Humans?

I’ve been delving a lot into ancient Sith lore recently, and everything I can find is of Sith Purebloods (Sith-Human Hybrids), and Massassi. What did actual Sith look like?

Side note: Tulak Hord needs a game about him with Khem Val as a companion.

Is WoW Worth Playing for Roleplay?

Hello, all!

I am a longtime SWtOR player, and I have always loved its cutscene style storytelling, and meticulously crafting a narrative for my character. I know that there isn’t anything of the kind in WoW, but I do know that the game is filled with lore. I had played casually for some time, but never could get into the fetch quest of it all. So, in the context of developing your character, is WoW worth it?

Can Brown Hair Become Duskier/Ash Blonde With Stress?

Hello!

I am writing a story about a former addict forced to become a hero, despite his inner turmoil. He goes through the wringer, and originally has chestnut brown hair before he begins to feel the effects of age prematurely from pure stress. Is it possible for brown hair to fade or become a dusky, lighter color after consistent pressure?

All Time Sith Ranking?

What is your personal ranking for Sith in the Star Wars Universe (all continuities)? This doesn’t have to be the “best Sith”, just the ones that resonate with you.

Personally, mine is as follows:

  1. Darth Maul - a heartbreaking story of what the Sith Code does to a person when they outlive their usefulness.

  2. Darth Nihilus - the Wound in the Force himself, Nihilus embodies what the dark side is capable of in terms of sheer scale.

  3. Darth Malgus - nothing will ever rekindle the kid in me like seeing the SWtOR trailers for the first time with the Sacking of Coruscant.

  4. Darth Vader - the Chosen One, destined to bring balance to the force. The fall of Anakin Skywalker will go down in history as one of the greatest cinematic legacies of all time.

  5. Tulak Hord - limitless potential, but not nearly enough lore that explores how cool he is. I want more ancient Sith stories.
