Although LeBron James’ agent remains unsure which NBA team he will join for next season, Rich Paul sounded confident on when to expect the NBA’s oldest active player will finalize his future.

“I don’t think this happens anytime soon,” Paul told me.

Should teams be prepared for James to make a decision in weeks instead of days?

“I don’t think it’ll be the next few days," Paul said.

We now have Labarron, D Wade, and Love on our team. If that isn't enough for us to sign LeBron, what is?

LeBron, you were destined to join us

[Dumas] Source: LeBron James would have no issues teaming with Jaylen Brown despite JB’s comments on Bronny. I know both have somewhat cleared the air publicly, but I was told directly — it is not a focus, LeBron has “moved on.” Obviously this is relevant with the Sixers pursuit of LBJ.

REMINDER AFTER THE KAWHI TRADE: We have their 2028 first round pick (unprotected) and their 2029 first round pick swap!

This Kawhi trade certainly helps us in the not too distant future, whether it be from using these draft picks in a few years or packaging them in a deal

[Helin] Deandre Ayton is expected to pick up his player option and return to the Lakers for the 2026-27 season.

> Deandre Ayton is expected to pick up his player option

> It’s no secret the Lakers are looking to upgrade at center (it should be noted Deandre Ayton is expected to pick up his player option and be back with the team). Mitchell Robinson is the kind of big man they could use, but his health concerns — particularly his chronic ankle issues — will give the Lakers and every team some pause.

[Stein/Fischer] Sources say that the Nuggets have at least internally discussed whether they have the asset wherewithal to join the trade chase for Boston's Jaylen Brown, but the Nuggets have yet to emerge as a bonafide landing spot for the Celtics' MVP candidate.

[Robb] The Celtics and Blazers have discussed a trade for Jaylen Brown, though a source says that Deni Avdija would not be on the table in any talks and it would be tough to pry away Donovan Clingan as well. Ultimately, any deal with Portland will likely center around draft capital.

> All-Star Deni Avdija would not be on the table in any trade talks, league sources tell MassLive and it would be tough for Boston to pry away Donovan Clingan as well. The Blazers do not have strong center depth behind Clingan with Robert Williams set to hit free agency so trading Clingan for Brown would simply create another hole on the roster.

> Ultimately, any deal with Portland will likely center around draft capital. The Blazers control the Bucks’ future first round picks from 2028-2030 and also have plenty of their own first-round draft capital. How deep they are willing to go into that pool of assets will be a major factor in whether the Celtics are willing to pull the trigger on a draft-heavy package.

[Jones] If the Sixers show interest in free agent PF/C John Collins, they would be at the top of his list because they can give him a starting spot and they can pay him very decent money.

[Mudd] RUMOR: The Sixers could look pursue John Collins once free agency opens on Tuesday, which would require using some of their MLE to get it done. Plenty of teams will pursue him in search of a viable PF/C to start or come off the bench.
