why do teens even consider keeping the fetus?

As a teenager with female anatomy myself, (he/they pronouns) being pregnant is one of my worst fears. I understand if you want to be a parent one day, that totally makes sense. I love kids and would love to adopt one with the love of my life one day.

But carrying a baby and giving birth to it is insanely dangerous when you're that young. Pregnancy and childbirth complications are one of the leading reasons for the death of people with female anatomy aged 15-19.

If you have access to safe abortion as a teen, I would say abort it. If you don't have access or really want to keep it... do what you want. But I would recommend aborting it. You have your whole life ahead of you. At least graduate and get a steady job first, and then you can have all the kids you want.

Sorry if I come off as rude in this, I'm just curious.

Little rant about how pro lifers use the bible to justify their actions. (From an ex Christian)

God made Adam as an already grown man from the dust in the ground. And Adam isn’t alive until god breathes the breath of life into his nostrils. So according to the bible, life begins at first breath. A fetus does not breathe. I repeat. Adam is not living until God breaths air into his lungs.

So dust + breath = life. Dust without breath is just dust. you can’t kill dust, because it’s not alive.

And in Job 33:4, it says the same thing.

**^(‘)**The Spirit of God has made me;
the breath of the Almighty gives me life.’

Breath = life in the bible. NOT CONCEPTION. I’m talking like how I would talk to a toddler because that’s how these people need to learn.

if you’re going to be a bad person, be a bad person. But don’t use god to justify it.

anxiety around my dog passing away

I, 13M, have had my precious angel of a dog, Lily, for 7 years. She's 10 years old right now, and is a black lab/pitbull mix. She's my family's dog, but she means so much to me. She was the first dog I wasn't scared of, and I immediately bonded with her. But I'm so scared of her dying. She's perfectly healthy, but she's getting old, and it's terrifying. I don't want to lose my best friend. And we won't be able to get another dog so when it does happen it'll soften the blow a bit, because she's extremely defensive and reactive to other dogs due to trauma from being a stray for god knows how long. What should I do?

A problem I’ve noticed in the community.

On ao3, I’ve stumbled across multiple fics that depict Will as a child and Mike as an adult/older teenager. And the fics are written as if whats happening is okay.

And if you go the comments, almost all of them are calling it “hot” or praising the fic. Idk how we got here, but it’s really disgusting. if you ever see a fic like this while browsing ao3 or any other fic website, please report it.

I hate the 4th of July.

Last night I had multiple meltdowns because I was so terrified of a firework hitting my house and setting it on fire. And the noises, plus the fact that a ton of drunk college students kept driving around my block blasting music and setting off fireworks from their car. You heard me. Leaning out the window and screaming and laughing as they put everyone in danger and make sound sensitive kids cry and cover their ears.

Does anyone else’s parent do this?

its like he can never be wrong about anything. for example, my chronic illness. despite my horrible pain I am required to shower every single day, no excuses. And when my mom lets me skip it for just a single day, he gets frustrated with me.

I always stay calm during these fights, since no matter what I say, it won’t matter. because he’s always right.

“but I, an able bodied adult, shower every day! why can’t you, a disabled teenager, do it?”

ugh.

even when I try to communicate and explain, he doesn’t even listen. Just retorts with the same excuses.
