STAR WARS JEDI KNIGHT II: JEDI OUTCAST (PC Windows) (Bootleg Distribution)

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is a 2002 first and third-person shooter video game developed by Raven Software for Windows and Mac OS. Westlake Interactive ported the game to Mac OS X, while the Xbox and GameCube versions were ported by Vicarious Visions; most versions were published by Activision and LucasArts, with only the Mac OS version published by Aspyr. The game is a sequel to 1997's Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, and the third main installment in the Star Wars: Jedi Knight series. The single-player campaign, set in the fictional Star Wars expanded universe two years after the Mysteries of the Sith expansion for Dark Forces II, follows returning protagonist Kyle Katarn, a mercenary working for the New Republic and former Jedi who cut his connection to the Force. Katarn must return to his Jedi ways to stop a branch of the Imperial Remnant led by the Dark Jedi Desann from empowering their army with the Force. Jedi Outcast was developed using a more powerful game engine, id Tech 3. The hack and slash combat introduced in Dark Forces II was heavily reworked, becoming the main focus of the gameplay instead of the shooter elements, which are prominent only during the first few missions of the game. Players may wield blasters, lightsabers, and Force powers to engage enemies, with the latter being recommended in later stages of the game, as numerous lightsaber-wielding enemies are introduced. Jedi Outcast also features a multiplayer mode that allows players to compete in several different game modes online or over a local area network. This video was recorded from a "bootleg" copy of the game distributed on a physical DVD that includes a game installer in several languages (German, Spanish, English and French) and includes by default the Brutality mod and the option to play as Darth Maul.

QUAKE (Game Boy Advance Prototype) | The Story of Quake on the Game Boy Advance Made by Randy Linden

This is the prototype of Quake for Game Boy Advance made by Randy Linden in 2002. Upon booting the game, we can instantly see how impressive this demo is for the hardware, with its capabilities effectively managing to outshine just about every 3D game out there that was released for the system. Not only that, it feels exactly like a Quake game. From the guns to the environments. You can even dive underwater! The game is fully 3D rendered, rather than the ray casting method most GBA games are known for. It has 3D enemies, animations, and point lighting effects (even on pre-rendered objects like weapons, which use a clever palette-changing trick to achieve the illusion of dynamic lighting). The camera and movement work is equally as incredible; it travels very cleanly, as opposed to being jittery.

STAR WARS JEDI KNIGHT - DARK FORCES II (PC Windows) (Bootleg DVD)

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II is a 1997 first-person shooter video game developed and published by LucasArts for Windows. It is the sequel to 1995's Star Wars: Dark Forces and the second installment in the Star Wars: Jedi Knight series. The story, set in the Star Wars expanded universe one year after the film Return of the Jedi, follows returning protagonist Kyle Katarn, a mercenary working for the New Republic, who discovers his connection to the Force and "The Valley of the Jedi", an ancient source of power. With his father having been murdered years prior by the Dark Jedi Jerec and his followers over the Valley's location, Katarn embarks on a quest to confront his father's killers and find the Valley before they do. STAR WARS: DARK FORCES (スター・ウォーズ ダークフォース) (PC DOS)

Star Wars: Dark Forces is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by LucasArts. It was released in 1995 for MS-DOS and Macintosh, and in 1996 for PlayStation. The story is set in the Star Wars Expanded Universe and begins shortly before the original film, then jumps forward one year after the events of the movie. The protagonist and playable character is Kyle Katarn, a mercenary working for the Rebel Alliance who discovers the Galactic Empire's secret Dark Trooper project, which involves the development of a series of powerful new battle droids and armored stormtroopers. Dark Forces uses the Jedi game engine, developed specifically for the game. This engine added gameplay features uncommon in the first-person shooter genre at the time of its release, including multi-level level designs and the ability to look up and down. Upon release, the PC and Macintosh versions received generally favorable reviews, praising their level design and technological advancements, although the PlayStation version was criticized for its poor graphics and low frame rate. The game was also a major commercial success, selling nearly one million copies in the United States by 1999. Its success spurred the Star Wars: Jedi Knight series, beginning with the direct sequel Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II in 1997.

This video was recorded from a bootleg version of the game distributed on DVD, which loads a DOSBox distribution with an image from the original game.

This is a short demo of Dark Eden for the Game Boy Advance by Rival Dreams. As one of the developers, Kynan Pearson, stated, they were highly influenced by Symphony of the Night and Metroid. You journey around a castle collecting four different power ups: the run, the wall jump, the fire sword, and the super jump. It’s a short and sweet demo that can be completed in one sitting. The controls are a bit slippery, but that’s to be expected from an early demo. You may notice that the build released here differs slightly from the photos within the Time Extension article; it lacks copyright information and has more refined character art and logo. This is because those images were partly concept art featuring various elements which never made it into the game. The project was canned when the three developers for the project couldn’t find a publisher to fund the project.
