13 Pro on 16.5 hangs after "Jailbreak" in Dopamine

I installed a tweak from Sileo and Springboard crashed on me to a dark screen with just the home bar visible. Forced a restart and then went back into Dopamine to re-jailbreak again.

Text box comes up, "Successful", Dopamine custom boot logo appears, boot flashes but stays on the custom screen and then nothing responds, forcing me to force restart the phone again, leaving me in an un-jailbroken state.

I would love to get back into jailbroken so I can uninstall the tweak that I believe is doing this.

Found a 2022 Kona EV SEL w/ Convenience Package. What should I be looking for when I go physically see it at the dealer?

It's got 30k miles on it and even though I was originally looking at an Ioniq 5, I might choose to go with this once since it's $15k. They sadly don't have pictures of the actual car on their website or other car search websites, so I'm going to go look at it physically.

I'm coming from a Nissan Leaf so I know the general EV issues to look out for but are there any specific Kona issues I should be on the lookout for? I saw the term "wheel of fortune" while scrolling this reddit.

Where did the masterlist of insurance and titling go?

I remember a big post listing all the US states and it had a table layout that mentioned insurance providers that are insuring these and the current legality of kei trucks in the state.

I thought it was stickied, but I guess not since I can't find it anymore.

ELI5: Why would I ever lease a car?

Title.

Got into a car accident (not at fault, fuck you David for running a red light) and I've been exploring options. One option that keeps coming up is leasing and I just don't understand why it's an option or why people do it.

Buying a car outright is too expensive at anywhere from 30k and up, but if you manage to do it that means you own the car. Same with financing it. You may pay more a month, but at least you own it after the terms are up.

Leasing seems silly since you're paying all this money to be limited to X number of miles per year and then you have to give the car back after 2-4 years depending on the terms. Why would you spend money to have nothing in the future and be back at needing a car? Seems like a scam.

Best thing to experience Buccees?

I’ve lived in South Florida all of my life so I’ve never experienced a Buccees. My partner is making a stop at Buccees when they drive from here to Tennessee tomorrow (and also on the way back) and they want to bring something back for me.

Only problem is I don’t know what Buccees has. What’s the best thing to get?

Grape like berry plant growing in South Florida

This plant grows along an entire length of sidewalk here in South Florida. The “berries” are grape like but the skin isn’t as soft and doesn’t grow on a vine like grapes. Leaves are bright green.

“Notify when Run” option was present earlier and now it’s no longer there

I got tired of my AirPods not automatically being switched to when I connected them to my phone, so I made an automation for it until it bugged me enough to look up an actual fix.

When I made it last night (7/23), the options for “Notify when Run” and “Ask Before running” were present and I left the Notify option on, which turned out to be a mistake.

I want to turn off the notifications now and the option has vanished. I even tried remaking the automation to see if it would come back and it hasn’t.

Are depth maps always distorted in Gcode previews?

https://preview.redd.it/6ze0xrp95qeh1.png?width=1048&format=png&auto=webp&s=5a79e8a75fc9639cb53c65db7b941f9ce2b60cea

I can't figure out what's causing this distortion of the Gcode preview (top) from the actual depth map PNG image (bottom). Is it distorted due to how the image "lays" over top of the material or is this a program error?

Using Falcon Design Space since I'm waiting to purchase Lightburn Pro for my Falcon T1 20w Fiber.

Any modern equivalent to these "Special" tools in the repair manual?

https://preview.redd.it/88trd68bzeeh1.png?width=779&format=png&auto=webp&s=31c275930d359644e47d68ec9ace470c3a5cf6de

I paid someone on eBay for the translated version of my truck's manual (Dx52x) and at the end of the section I need to use dealing with the rear diff and rear axle housing, it has this listing of special tools.

The sliding hammer can be gotten at Harbor Freight or Oreilly's along with some of the attachments, but I'm mainly worried about the Oil Seal Remover and the various Bearing installers.

Anyone got tools that do similar jobs?

Help me with math regarding where my money should go?

I’m terrible at practical formulas for math. Is there a way to mathematically show how much I would save (regarding financing a new car) by lowering my interest rate vs paying a higher down payment?

The question at the root of the problem is “is it better to save money to pay off my credit card debt and raise my credit score in hopes of paying a lower interest rate on a car OR save that money and pay a larger down payment?”

I feel like a lower down payment AND a lower APR would be a better way to do it than a high down payment alone, especially because with a higher score you can often qualify for promotional offers for “$0 down” but I don’t know how to express it numerically to show to my partner.

What is this particular post-accident scam advertisement I keep seeing on Instagram?

I got in an accident on the 3rd, it’s my first one ever and I maintain that I’m not at fault so I’ve been freaking out but I made a claim through my insurance and I think I’m doing everything by the book. Dashcam footage and everything submitted.

It took a couple weeks but my Instagram algorithm has been bombarded by ads with lines like:

“a minor accident could get you $100k”
“No lawyers, no court, get paid.”

And they always seem to direct me to a website with a blue background where you answer some questions, and then submit your info and someone will “be in contact”.

I know it’s a scam, I’m not filling any of them out, but what is the process of this scam? Are they suing the other party on your behalf and giving you only a percentage of the settlement? Are they loaning you this money in the hopes that they’ll get more? What is this service doing that an accident lawyer couldn’t do?

Is Sedgehammer the only thing that will work on sedge weeds or will Glyphosate work fine?

I think I have nutsedge growing in my sheet mulched area. While not specifically a triangle, the stalks definitely have edges. I’m going to sheet mulch with another heavier layer, but first I want to spot treat so these don’t grow through the next layer.

Is Sedgehammer specific to sedges or can Glyphosate work just as well?

Selling my ChaDeMo adapter

A Ford SUV ran a red light on me and totaled my 2024 SV and probably won’t be looking at another Leaf, so the A2Z adapter is fairly useless to me.

Only used it twice at FPL Evolution and 7/11’s 7Charge and it worked at both stations.

Probably looking for something like $600. I’ll even send you the original box.

Location: South Florida

Item: A2Z "Legacy" ChaDeMO to CCS Adapter

Emporia L2 J1772: Cord swap or Adapter for an NACS only vehicle?

I had a 2024 Leaf that had the J1772 port, so I bought an L2 Emporia Charger with the J1772 cord. Then I got into a crash. I'm now looking at getting a 2027 Bolt which only has an NACS port.

  1. Can I even do a cord swap to the NACS cord? I didn't find a specific cord on Emporia's website, but is it possible with a generic?

  2. Do adapters vary in quality?

Cable or power supply to run 5 ikea lights at different lengths of cable

https://preview.redd.it/osa0fpwkt9bh1.png?width=870&format=png&auto=webp&s=db2070cf44ad4f4aa4b4a0b8397d974065e20df9

I have a duplex outlet in my floor to ceiling pantry with 5 shelves in it. I'm looking to eliminate the required battery replacement cycle of using these motion activated ikea lights by running USB cables to them to keep the batteries inside constantly charged.

5 cables to run from a single outlet (or 2) makes a rather big loom, so if there was one cable with 5 different branching plugs or even a slim 120v power hub that was 6 or 7 feet tall that I can stick in the corner and run individual USB cables to, it would work.

Reportedly, the cables would only charge the batteries inside and the batteries are 2x rechargeable AA batteries at 1.2V each for a total of 2.4v

Looking for indoor units that will fit this space

The space above the door frames would be a great space for a heat pump in my garage, especially with that unused 4” hole in the wall that used to be a dryer vent hose port (installed by the previous owners).

The only problem is that the space above the door frames is only about 12-13 inches to the ceiling and most indoor units are about 14 inches tall before even including the surrounding air envelope which they want 3” above and below the machine.

Looking for ideas.

Ideas for what to do with an oddly placed vent hole? Ways to cool the garage preferred

I’m finally working on my garage in my new house in South Florida and I’m stuck on what to do with this 4 inch hole in the wall. The previous owners used it for a dryer vent but we have a ventless dryer. It’s about 8 feet off the ground, over the water heater, through a CMU wall and just in an awkward space, however the vent outside automatically closes so no heat is getting inside from this (the garage insulation is another story).

My first thought was to use it to route the wiring and the drain hose for a mini split AC unit but in Pic 2 and 3 you can see that there’s no spaces I can mount the indoor side of a mini split.

The space above the two doors immediately closest to the vent is about 12-13 inches and even if I found an indoor unit that would fit, they also want space above and below the unit for air flow.

My second thought was just to cut the flashing and fill it in, but if there’s something I can use it for it would be better and the vent on the outside closes automatically so filling it in would just make the space look better and not actually add any use or prevent any heat.

I don’t know what I don’t know and this is my first foray into garage renovation. I’m trying to make it into a workshop.
