Cable or power supply to run 5 ikea lights at different lengths of cable

I have a duplex outlet in my floor to ceiling pantry with 5 shelves in it. I'm looking to eliminate the required battery replacement cycle of using these motion activated ikea lights by running USB cables to them to keep the batteries inside constantly charged.

5 cables to run from a single outlet (or 2) makes a rather big loom, so if there was one cable with 5 different branching plugs or even a slim 120v power hub that was 6 or 7 feet tall that I can stick in the corner and run individual USB cables to, it would work.

Reportedly, the cables would only charge the batteries inside and the batteries are 2x rechargeable AA batteries at 1.2V each for a total of 2.4v

Looking for indoor units that will fit this space

The space above the door frames would be a great space for a heat pump in my garage, especially with that unused 4” hole in the wall that used to be a dryer vent hose port (installed by the previous owners).

The only problem is that the space above the door frames is only about 12-13 inches to the ceiling and most indoor units are about 14 inches tall before even including the surrounding air envelope which they want 3” above and below the machine.

Looking for ideas.

Ideas for what to do with an oddly placed vent hole? Ways to cool the garage preferred

I’m finally working on my garage in my new house in South Florida and I’m stuck on what to do with this 4 inch hole in the wall. The previous owners used it for a dryer vent but we have a ventless dryer. It’s about 8 feet off the ground, over the water heater, through a CMU wall and just in an awkward space, however the vent outside automatically closes so no heat is getting inside from this (the garage insulation is another story).

My first thought was to use it to route the wiring and the drain hose for a mini split AC unit but in Pic 2 and 3 you can see that there’s no spaces I can mount the indoor side of a mini split.

The space above the two doors immediately closest to the vent is about 12-13 inches and even if I found an indoor unit that would fit, they also want space above and below the unit for air flow.

My second thought was just to cut the flashing and fill it in, but if there’s something I can use it for it would be better and the vent on the outside closes automatically so filling it in would just make the space look better and not actually add any use or prevent any heat.

I don’t know what I don’t know and this is my first foray into garage renovation. I’m trying to make it into a workshop.

Post Flair per machine?

I recently bought the T1 and all I see are posts here about the A1. Any way we could get post flair by machine so I could pick through the probably small amount of T1 related posts and see if my issue gets solved?

"8 Mile" came up on my list to rewatch and I have a question

Before I go and watch this again, I might've misremembered something.

When did the B-Rabbit character ever find out all the stuff he says in the last rap battle against Clarence? I haven't watched it in like 20 years, but I seem to remember B-Rabbit just getting another opportunity at the battles and just lore dropping all that stuff.

Was that just something that B-rabbit already knows and he was just waiting for the opportunity to expose him?

How do I make iOS understand that a phone number is not attached to an iPhone?

My partner got a new phone and a new phone number maybe 3 years ago. Since then, my iPhone 13 has been interpreting that phone number as being attached to an iPhone. It gives me the option to Facetime from her contact card and all my texts to her get sent through iMessage, initially.

The problem is that she is on an Android phone and it's getting really old to have to keep holding down the initial text I send her and selecting "Send as Text Message" amongst all the other iPhone to iPhone things that it thinks it can do, but can't. Previous help articles I've read have just told me to wait and that something will be updated in the phone records or something that makes iOS think it's no longer an iPhone number, but it's been 3 years and still nothing has changed.

Is there some sort of designation I can use to say that this phone number doesn't have imessage capabilities or isn't an iPhone?

Creality "Suggested" settings seem way off for my type of laser

New Falcon T1 laser with the 20w Fiber non-MOPA module, trying to experiment with power settings on their gold coin provided in the material sample pack and when I pick the gold coin in their pre-provided material picker, it doesn't engrave anything past a slight scratch.

Not trying to do anything depthmap related, just get the test array to show up more than a slight scratch on the gold surface and unsure what I should change. Higher Frequency, Slower speed, more passes?

“Suggested” values for Creality Store items?

I’m trying to engrave one of their metal gold coins from the 3 pack with a 20w Fiber module in my T1, but the values from their materials menu give me a really light or almost no engraving at all.

Are those suggested values for diode lasers or otherwise not the module I have?

Does this rap lyric technique have a name?

From “My Chick Bad” by Ludacris:

>>> “Couple girlfriends and they all a lil' crazy
Comin' down the street like a parade, Macy's”

From “Bed Rock” by Young Money:

>>> “He say, ‘Nicki don't stop, you the bestest’
And I just be coming off the top, asbestos”

And

>>> “I love ya sushi roll, hotter than wasabi
I race for your love
Shake and bake, Ricky Bobby”

Specifically the last line in these quotes have a section where say a single word inside the rhyme, that kind of correlates at a distance to the rest of the line e.g. Macy’s is a parade, Asbestos went in the top of the building, and Ricky Bobby was a (fictional) race car driver.

This writing happened a lot during the 2010’s raps but I can’t find out if this kind of writing has a name or not. It’s not an ad lib and I wouldn’t consider it a punch line because these aren’t battle raps.

This blue box is the biggest lie in the world

I had to call the GoFedex number to get any information since the package hasn't been scanned or updated in 5 days on the tracking page but was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Apparently the drivers can update the scan in the backend and it just doesn't get pushed to the website? The "Automated System" would just read me off the website but the human CS agent had to go into their internal system to see where it is and discover this bug.

Human 5 stars on the survey. Automated System owes me stars for dealing with it.

Help deciphering and possibly adapting suggested settings?

I picked up some aluminum plates that etch black when engraved and there were "suggested" settings on the item page, but they feel a little scant.

>Laser Raster settings:
- 35 watt DPI 400, Speed 70%, Power 60%
- 60 watt DPI 400, Speed 75%, Power 40%

No mention of laser type but the wattage amounts feels like a CO2 laser was used to test these.

I recently picked up the Creality Falcon T1 20w Fiber laser because I learned that Fiber is better on metals and also Fiber can be packed into a smaller Galvo package than a CO2.

Now I know there's probably a lot more settings than just DPI, Speed and Power in the software package that I'll be set to mess with (Falcon Design Studio) once the laser arrives and I'm definitely going to do the laser power over time quality grid pattern thing, but could anyone give me a starting point for adapting these settings?

Shipping time on newly released items?

I'm looking into ordering the new T1 Laser, but I need it to be here before the 3rd week of June.

Anyone else ordered an item that was newly available to the public (like a new printer) know how quickly they got it after order?

How quiet are the "Ultra Quiet" Fortress air compressors?

I've been using a 3 gallon McGraw pancake air compressor for about 2 years for light air work (Air punch to remove nails from pallet wood mostly) and it's so loud for no reason.

I see some of the ultra quiet Fortresses are going on sale for the June PLS. I'm not looking for 0 decibels since the air compressor needs to compress, but how much quieter are we talking?

Priority of walking apps?

I have (somehow) like 3-4 apps with pedometers/step counters, all of which have a connection to Apple Health. Undoubtedly, they are going to have mismatched step counts, despite all using the same sensors. How does Apple Health decide which value is the value it accepts and then spits out to other apps that read step counts?

Whirlpool Dishwasher fills with water and then stops

Super basic Whirlpool starts a cycle and fills with water to about the level of the heating element, but then stops. The door is latched closed and clicks shut. It doesn’t have any flashing lights on the front panel (the lights stay solid like in the picture) so no error code, it just stops making noise and loudly clicks off.

Model: WDF130PAHW2

Unsure of age since it came with the house when we bought it 2 years ago and no idea what could even be wrong with it as it’s the first dishwasher we’ve owned on our own. We’ve cleaned the filters every 3 months or so.

I'd like to draw water out of a canal on my property and use it like I have with my rain barrels and my on-demand pump, but the submersible ones always seem to either require a physical switch or come with some built in float switch if they're being used for a sump pump. If used in a canal, that float switch should 99.9% of the time be switched on anyways and if it's not, I have bigger problems.

The on-demand ones usually necessitate they be placed in the center of the water line to both prime the pump from one end and push the water once the pressure difference is noticed, which would involve me sticking another protective box somewhere and running a hose down to the canal. Not necessarily a hard thing to do, but not desired in this situation.

My very brief amount of research comes up with consumer pumps being either submersible or on-demand (but not both) for somewhere in the $75-$150 neighborhood. The SeaFlo brand seems to be popular and is what I use in my rain barrel setup, but that isn't submersible.

Am I just not looking for the right keywords?
