80s Movie with a mutilated child

This terrified me. When I was a child, somewhere between 1989 and 1991, I'm sitting on the couch with my mom and cousin and my mom starts panicking and telling my dad to "turn it." He was right by the TV.

My dad was either really slow at this or not taking my mom seriously because a second or two later there's an image of a child with his bottom torso gone, like it had been ripped off of him with some blood and guts.

My cousin and I scream. My mom shrieks for my dad to "turn it Mike!" and he finally does.

I've always wondered what that movie was. The only details I can remember about that scene was that the lighting was dark and the kid was laying down, maybe on a bed or something and there's a close-up of some adult space, a guy with black hair and I think black facial hair as well. He looks sullen and sad.

I've wondered what this movie was for the last nearly 40 years. Maybe somebody can finally answer it for me. I think we had HBO as well, though it could have been a VHS tape my dad left in the machine.

Which Kool-Aid flavor do you consider red?

White guy here with a black girlfriend. I'm always referred to Cherry as the red Kool-Aid, girlfriend says that fruit punch is the Kool-Aid that is considered red.

What do you consider to be the proper red Kool-Aid? She told me to post on here and that I would see that I was wrong lol

Looking for a traveling carry case that can accommodate multiple handheld consoles.

My girlfriend and I are planning a vacation next summer and naturally instead of the sights and sounds of a different country, I'm most excited about what game boy and game gear games to bring.

I've seen plenty of travel bags and cases for game boy but I was wondering if there was anything specifically made for multiple portable systems.

Yes, I know I can just put them in a duffel bag or a backpack, but why not have some fun with it?

Any ideas, recommendations, or other thoughts? I'll hang up and listen.

Trying to get my stove, completely spotless. About 10 minutes of scrubbing and I feel like I've hit a wall. What next?

I've been really neglectful on keeping my stove clean, but that changed this week.

I am a man possessed. I bought some dawn, professional industrial surface degreaser and some barkeepers friend and a scrub daddy and made some good progress.

But now I feel like I've hit a brick wall because no amount of scrubbing is getting the rest of this off. What do I do now? Just scrub every day until little by little the spots come off? Or am I just stuck with that?

Help me.

Do I need my smart phone?

I know our whole lives are on smart phones, but I would like to turn it off once I get to my room and leave it in my bag for the complete duration of the trip.

Are there any instances where I would need to use my phone, whether it be the app for ordering drinks or something similar?

Edit: thanks guys. I'll probably delete all of my social media apps and everything that causes a distraction and just keep the phone on hand. Or buy a cheap burner type phone with the only app being the carnival one.

Do you allow your ex to claim one of your children on their tax return if they pay child support but only have the kids 10 weeks out of the year?

I guess I feel morally conflicted. The custody agreement says that she pays me child support, but since she moved 20 hours away, I have full custody except for eight weeks in the summer and Xmas every other year.

It also says that I get to claim all three children on my tax return but this last year I let her claim one of them because I felt like her paying nearly $1000 a month in child support obligated her to be able to make that claim and receive some money on the return. I should know that it took nearly 11 months to get that first child support payment.

I have friends telling me that I should not feel morally obligated to do that since she only has them for about a fifth of the year and I'm the one taking care of them full-time and paying for things like field trips, school supplies, etc.

Legally, I know I don't have to do a darn thing. But for anyone in my shoes, did you allow your ex to do this because of any kind of moral obligation for them paying child support and contributing to their welfare? Or am I being a punching bag here?

Can anyone tell me where to find adhesive ducks with umbrellas for my bathtub?

I can find adhesive stickers, but I can't find any with ducks holding umbrellas. Could somebody point me to a place that sells them?

Edit: i'm specifically looking for ducks holding umbrellas.

[Iron Man 2] What if Happy crashes the car while taking black widow to the facility where Vanko is working

Natasha is changing clothes in the back of the car and tells Happy to keep his eyes on the road. He peaks and you hear a car horn blaring at him.

But what if they weren't so lucky and Happy catching a glimpse of her naked results in a fatal crash for them both on the way to the facility where Vanko is working?

How does that affect the rest of the movie, and if Tony still somehow wins, how does Black Widow and Happy dying change the course of the MCU?

Swish drills: Beneficial or just rage bait?

Recently on Facebook, my reels have started showing these basketball drills from something called good drills.

In one of them, the coach was making them shoot a 3 until it was a complete swish. If it hit any part of the rim going in, they had to do it again. Same thing with another video but it was half court shots. I swear one of them actually was a complete swish, but he tried to say it hit the back of the rim, but that's neither here nor there.

Is there any benefit to making these kids shoot until it's a complete swish? Or is this rage bait that succeeded because it annoyed the fuck out of me?

What are the legal ramifications of a minor copying a company's spaghetti sauce recipe and selling it on campus?

In season 5, episode 3 of Saved By The Bell, the gang begins selling spaghetti sauce, and it's a major hit with students all over campus. A day or two later, a legal representative from the Betsy Crocker company threatened them with a lawsuit because the sauce recipe that they are using belongs to them.

I realize this is a fictional television show made for children, but I've always wondered if this Betsy Crocker company would actually have a legal leg to stand on. Could they actually prove that the recipe is theirs? And what kind of punishment would a minor receive for this as opposed to an adult?

Apologies if this is not appropriate for this forum, but I really wanted to hear from a legal mind on this episode.

Stuck on return still processing. How long have you had to wait for this?

Due to Crain Kia of Fort Smith being completely inept at their job, I had to submit paperwork with my return showing that I purchased a used EV last year, per the IRS rep's instructions.

They received the return on Feb. 24. And on April 2, my refund status changed to the one shown in the screenshot. "We apologize, but your return processing has been delayed beyond the normal time."

It has been with that same status for 3 1/2 months now. Every phone call to the IRS has resulted in the same information. The return was escalated, and they are working on it.

I have no way to speak with anybody on that escalation team and the IRS has not sent any correspondence whatsoever detailing what they are doing or if there are any problems. The taxpayer advocate service will not look at my return or offer any help until October.

I am about to lose my mind with this. I've already had to cancel a vacation to see a friend I have not seen in years, had to borrow money for my 401(k) to pay for an unexpected hospital bill that the insurance would not cover, and have put off sorely needed home improvement projects.

School is right around the corner and I had planned to use that tax refund to help pay for school supplies and that's looking like a no go as well.

Does anyone else have experience with the IRS holding their return for an escalated review for this amount of time or longer?

TL:DR: My return was escalated 3 and a half months ago and I have heard nothing from the IRS and it's hurting my finances.

LeBron likes attention. We won't get his destination until after the World Cup is over with.

He doesn't want to share the spotlight with the World Cup. Since that final is on Sunday, he'll announce on Monday at the earliest.

If I'm wrong, I'll admit it instead of deleting this post.

Any statewide resources to help a friend being stalked and harassed by their ex when the Conway Police Department won't help at all?

A friend of mine recently posted this on her Facebook wall and I wanted to try to find resources to help her.

"My ex has literally been harassing me since I blocked him — driving by my house, going to my kids family’s house to ask about me, having mutual friends give messages to me on his behalf, sending me messages off of other people’s fb accs, everything. And the officer I spoke to about it deadass blamed ME because I’ve posted about my ex’s abuse towards me on social media. Without even naming him or posting his photo or anything. But he still told me I should keep my business to myself, that I’m inviting issues by doing that, and I should go to therapy. Literally wtf.

"The cop literally told me that my ex told him when he called him that “he’ll never contact me again if I take everything down and never post about him again.” And the cop was in agreement with that. Like I’m supposed to just be forced into silence???? I can’t speak about the abuse I endured without facing harassment that no one will do anything about???"

What do you do if you're a woman in this situation and the local police won't help? I'm hoping somebody reading this can direct me to any kind of resources in the central Arkansas area that helps women in situations like this.

Thank you on her behalf.

For those of you who remember the previews before watching the first episode in 1994, who did you think was gonna end up with who based on the advertisements?

I was just in middle school when it premiered, but I would've guessed Ross and Phoebe based on this picture.

What if I bring two dollar bills instead of singles to a strip club?

Would the strippers enjoy getting more money or would the two dollar bill be a nuisance?

If friends were remade as a dramatic show, what's a storyline from the original series that would result in severe consequences for one of the characters.?

I thought about how they remade Fresh Prince of Bel-Air into a serious show and wondered what that version of friends would be like.

I think that Rachel would have faced severe repercussions for hiring and sleeping with tag in a dramatic version of the show. And I think we see Emily spiral into some really dark places after Ross says Rachel's name.

What say you?

Batman with a year of prep vs a perfect NCAA bracket

The Riddler has decided that Batman has to get a perfect bracket in the NCAA Men's tournament or a random city will be blown up.

Batman cannot tell anybody outside of the bat family about this predicament. He cannot use his wealth to directly alter the outcome, so no paying refs off or paying teams to forfeit.

Probably easier for bats to just figure out the city, and disarm the bomb. But if he's not able to do that, how could he succeed in this challenge?
