Hi everyone!

I'm a PhD researcher at James Cook University in Australia studying attraction, dating preferences, and how people evaluate potential romantic partners.

I'm currently looking for heterosexual, gay, and lesbian adults (18+) to complete an anonymous online survey, and I'd love to hear from more men.

Men's perspectives are really valuable to this research, and I'd like to have a broad range of men represented across different ages, sexual orientations, backgrounds, and parts of the world. Given this community, I thought this would be a great place to invite more men to take part.

The survey involves viewing a series of fictional dating profiles and answering questions about attraction and short- and long-term relationship interest. It takes around 5–10 minutes to complete, is completely anonymous, and participation is entirely voluntary.

The study forms part of my Doctor of Philosophy research at James Cook University in Australia and has received approval from the James Cook University Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC Approval No. 25H-0225).

We're recruiting internationally, so I'd really love to hear from men from all over the world.

I'm currently recruiting adults (18+) for an anonymous online survey, and I'd really love to have more people with diverse gender identities represented in the research. People of any gender identity are very welcome to participate.

The survey involves viewing a series of fictional dating profiles and answering questions about attraction and short- and long-term relationship interest. It takes around 5–10 minutes to complete, is completely anonymous, and participation is entirely voluntary.

One limitation of this particular phase is that the study is primarily designed around heterosexual, gay, and lesbian sexual orientations, and participants are asked to select one gender they're typically more attracted to for the profiles they'll see. I completely understand that this may not capture everyone's experience of gender or attraction.

This study is part of a broader research program that has previously included people across the LGBTQIA+ community, and we hope to continue expanding this work to better represent different sexual orientations and gender identities in future phases.

The study forms part of my Doctor of Philosophy research at James Cook University and has received approval from the James Cook University Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC Approval No. 25H-0225).

Hi everyone!

My partner is a carpenter, so while we're planning our trip to Japan, I've been looking into traditional carpentry and woodworking experiences.

I've come across Kongō Gumi, which specialises in traditional temple construction, and I've also found a woodworking experience near Tokyo where you can visit a workshop, see traditional building techniques, and even try some woodworking yourself.

Has anyone visited Kongō Gumi or done the Tokyo woodworking experience? If so, what did you think?

I'd also love to hear about any other carpentry, woodworking, joinery, timber-framing or traditional architecture experiences you'd recommend. We'll be visiting Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, but we're happy to travel a bit for something that's really worth it.
