Calling everyone in r/mickeymouseclubhouse, we are looking into adding new additions to the mod team.

Our subreddit has now officially surpassed 1k members and we have no plans on slowing down. As such we need new Handy Helpers who are committed to moderate this community, maintaining its organisation and order.

Anyone can apply so long as their reddit account is more than 3 months old and are over the age of 13. We are also looking for people who have good moderating experience.

If this sounds like you, message the mods via Mod Mail and we will take your account into review to see if you're a perfect fit.

Thanks for stopping by and see ya real soon!

If you're an OG you'll know about Lights, Camera, Lexi!, Nina Needs to Go and Whisker Haven Tales with the Palace Pets.

For those who are new or have forgotten these hidden gems, they are interstitial short series that act as filler in the channel's broadcasting schedule. Each episode of these shorts last about 2-5 minutes.

These shorts are special because they could tell their own stories and teach their own lessons without relying on existing IPs. For instance:

• Lights, Camera,Lexi! always has a new short film exploring the many different genres of cinema and how they shape stories in their own, unique way. A modern day Little Einsteins but with cinema and theatre if you will.
• Nina Needs to Go! teaches kids the importance of not waiting to go to the bathroom. With Nina getting into her antics with her Grandma and her UMBRELLA.
• Whisker Haven Tales with the Palace Pets are short stories with tiny animals based on the Disney Princesses.

Nowadays, it's rare to find 2D animated shorts like this, especially original ones. And while Disney has always made shorts based around their existing shows like the Mickey+ Shorts and Sofia the First: Magical Friends, it would be nice to have more original shorts.

Besides Hey A.J., Disney Junior category as of late has mainly been CG animated mainly due to it being cheaper and easier to produce, along with the fact that most of the 2D animation division goes to their Disney Channel / Disney XD shows, however I think animation should be a diverse medium to express different styles of creativity.

It's more common now that CG preschool shows prioritise the quality of their characters designs and background textures, and while that's not inherently a bad thing, it just makes a lot of them look the same.

But what are your thoughts on these three shorts and the current state of preschool media?
