r/disneyxd has grown a lot from what is was about a year ago with us at over 1 and a half thousand members and counting. So we figured now it would be a good time to recruit some new members in our team.

Whether Neo Metal appears in Sonic 4 or a future entry, I would love for Neo Metal to copy Sonic's bio data and if he decides to shapeshift into Sonic, I'd like him to briefly shapeshift into Ugly Sonic maybe as an error or as a way to taunt Sonic.

I think this would be a great opportunity to do so as each Sonic film has referenced at least one meme per character. With Ugly Sonic becoming a meme after the first trailer, so it makes sense.

For the past few days, you'll have come across the news of a new preschool show in collaboration with Disney Junior, Ozzy Fox. However upon this news, it has received heavy backlash for "using AI" leading to many left in confusion and anger.

Ozzy Fox's animation is being handled by Animaj, whom you might recognise with their previous works such as Pocoyo, Maya the Bee, Rabbids Invasion etc.

The show is produced by human animators as well as their AI tool. The tool in question is their very own sketch-to-motion tool. To put it simply, the storyboard artist produce sketches for the characters and their movement and their AI sketch-to-motion software matches the character rigs to the sketch as accurately as possible to increase workflow.

The part that annoys me is that whenever the word "AI" appears in a sentence once, everyone jumps the gun and claims it's "slop". I understand that generative AI is increasingly improving by the day and people should definitely be concerned, especially the animators and artists behind them. But we have to realise that AI tools are there to give them an easy time and keep projects complete within deadlines at its best quality.

But if you think about it, Disney Junior has been in a weird state as of late. And it all links back to their social media especially their YouTube channel. First it was acquiring Gracie's Corner, a popular kids nursery rhymes YouTube channel and now Ozzy Fox exclusively on YouTube. They recognise that kids in these days don't watch the channel anymore but are more inclined to watch their content on their social media and Disney+. Afterall, their YouTube channel has almost 30 million subscribers compared to Disney Channel's 5 million subscribers.

The takeaway from all of this is a "never judge a book by its cover" type bit, but it's something to take note moving forward. Ozzy Fox seems like a harmless show and I imagine it wouldn't get this much hate had it not been supported by Disney. So don't worry, the fight for AI slop and genuine creativity continues and Ozzy Fox is one of the many that hangs in genuine creativity.
