Sinus issues with increased dose

I’m seeing this can be a thing in some blogs talking about GLP1s but haven’t found anything for Reta. I went up 8 mgs appx 2.5 weeks ago and I’m pretty sure the congestion has gotten worse in line with that increase. I tend to have dryness/sinus congestion anyway and haven’t found a great solution.

I finally started losing weight consistently and I’m only 10 lbs from my goal weight so I’m hoping the only answer isn’t to go lower as I’d hit a real stall for awhile until I went to 8. I have medical anxiety and the sinus stuff makes it worse due to sinuses causing me to feel “wonky”. Wondering if you’ve had this happen did it get better?

Fiber options - Metamucil causing GI problems.

* Apologies for the overshare (tried to keep it subtle).

I get the most obvious thing is to eat fiberous foods. However, I have a histamine issue and I’m currently trying to figure out what vegetables/fruits are ok for me. I started having more GI issues when I went up to 8 mgs after I had stalled for several weeks. The scale started moving again. I thought Metamucil would be the answer to any slow gastric emptying (I follow some GLP doctors online and they say that nausea is actually usually not eating enough fiber and Metamucil could help).

However, I’ve been nauseous more since taking it. I looked it up and saw that it forms a gel like substance in the GI tract and it can actually cause additional slower gastric emptying. Because I go regularly (sorry) I thought it was working as it should, but I’m actually thinking it’s just the fact that I drink coffee in the morning. However, i’m still having nausea and bloating some days and I kind of don’t think coffee is doing enough. Being very careful with getting enough protein. I eat no sugary sweets or snacks. I eat the minimal amount of carbs but do have plain rice at lunch most days. Exercise regularly.

I’d really been feeling nauseous for a couple days and then I didn’t take Metamucil yesterday and I feel better today. Are there any alternatives that can help prevent the slow gastric emptying?

How does Guanfacine impact your anxiety?

My doctor told me that Guanfacine only helps with physical feelings of anxiety when asked about prescribing for generalized anxiety, OCD thinking and emotional regulation. Is she correct in what’s she’s saying from your experience with Guanfacine?

I had seen people saying on here that really helped with various kinds of anxiety not just physical.

Anyone combining Guanfacine with Strattera?

I’m starting Guanfacine for anxiety but my psych has suggested I take generic (due to my plan) Strattera along with it. Wondering about people’s experience experiences a I’m hesitant to take both.

I had actually asked him first for Guanfacine since I have anxiety that has gotten worse with a current situation (SSRIs don’t work for me). He and I really communicate via email between sessions and he’s not very good with explaining things - you can tell he’s thinking fast and hitting send. Anyway, he knows that I may need to keep using low amount of dexamphetamine and is ok with that (it has greatly helped with depression and focus but it does sometimes allow for spikes in anxiety).

Also, one of my biggest worries is weight gain, so curious if people have found that Strattera or Guanfacine has increased weight.

Guanfacine (and possibly genetic Strattera )- what to expect

*Generic not generic (wish they’d let you edit post titles). I’m starting Guanfacine for anxiety and wondering what to expect-I have seen people mention feeling very tired at first. I’m about to see some family that’s visiting on Friday-Sunday, and considering waiting to start Monday depending upon how strong the side effects might be. Also, although I’ve seen varying reports just looking on Reddit I did ask him if he thinks weight gain could be a concern with the Guanfacine (I’ve been in a years long baller lose weight and currently using a GLP) and he keeps not answering the question. We’re mainly talking via email right now until my next appt but that isn’t for another month.

Psych also suggested that I try (generic) Strattera and use my dexamphatamine as needed depending upon how much or how little those two help with mood and focus. I had actually mentioned I was hesitant to tries to Strattera because of side effects- but he thought that it could be a good combination. I am very sensitive to medication so I wanted to get people’s experience experiences.

Also, wondering how quickly did you find it helped for anxiety?

Anxiety and peptides (looking for experiences - esp w Guanfacine)

Test Rat getting Reta and KLOW. Not seeking medical advice but rather personal experiences.

Considering giving Rat Guanfacine and would like to know experiences OR with peptides . Rat is using ADHD - low amt. of stuff for getting anything done at this point. Guanfacine seems seems that it could pair well and help with anxiety. I do NOT like, however, that Guanfacine is a blood pressure stuff and I’ve seen some people say they’ve had weight gain / some have reported none (of course no clarity). That would be very bad since Rat’s hit some stalling with Reta.

R about to start SS31, and then move to possibly MOTC then NAD, and considering AOP9604, R’s had trouble losing the last 10 to 15 pounds after a good 20 lb lose since January, just went up on Reta (yes, doing all the things you’re supposed to do the right way) appx 3 weeks ago.

Although I do have my doubts that peptides are going to be enough to do help with R’s anxiety levels with what I’m dealing with right now, due to my hesitancy with adding Guanfacine, I am wondering if anybody else cleaned up their mitochondria using peptides like SS31 to the point where they really felt a huge difference in anxiety or depression?

Ps-Rat’s tried Selank and didn’t really find that it did much, but I have not figured out or gone to the level of reconstituting for him as nasal spray-if that maybe makes it better?

Rat has a doc who’s clueless about this stuff.

Seeking experiences with guanfacine

Female, 50s, ADHD + anxiety + high functioning autism + possible PTSD. Struggling. Looking for experiences with guanfacine (or anything that has helped) for emotional dysregulation and reactive panic (not primarily for ADHD focus). But would be combining with IR low dose dextroamphetamine (extended release didn’t agree with me for stimulants-lack of control over the outcome for the day / too intense). Yes in therapy. Psychiatrist thought maybe Quelbee-ins will not pay/ can’t afford. Of course, I’m not seeking medical advice. But I am worried about side-effects and use of a blood pressure medication.

My panic is triggered by specific stressors (which have increased) and snowballs fast - I can’t distinguish big deals from small ones in the moment. I feel I really need to try something preventative with no weight gain issues.

Tried multiple SSRIs - didn’t tolerate them. Buspirone did nothing.

Genetics show COMT V158M +/+ (slow dopamine clearance) and MAO-A +/- so my anxiety seems more norepinephrine/dopamine driven than serotonin, which is why SSRIs haven’t worked well.

Specific questions:

• Did it help emotional reactivity/panic response more than focus?
• How did you handle the blood pressure/dizziness side effect?
• Did it affect your stimulant

Dexomethamphetamine anxiety-seeking non-stim experiences

I have a history of anxiety/OCD and depression. SSRIs (tried many) and Wellbutrin are no good for me. Any positive experiences from any non-stimulant medications? The low dose dex (5mgs earlier and then I split in half around 3 Pm or so) helps my ADHD, depression and sometimes helps anxiety-but if my anxiety gets triggered (and right now I have a situation that is like a roller coaster for triggering that has no definite end in site), I can end up in a bad place with anxiety.

Psych suggested Qelbree but I can’t afford it.

***Also, if weight gain from a med, would you please indicate (I can’t do anything that would cause weight gain right now).

thymosin alpha 1 for low thyroid success?

*not seeking medical advice

I had borderline low T3 on my last test. Rather not go straight to medications. Anyone have success with this peptide? I’ve been stalled for 3 weeks on Reta and worried I’m stuck until I address this issue with my thyroid.

Loops/rings resistance band bruises.

I started watching a woman on YouTube, who was swearing up and down the benefits of switching to resistance bands in her 50’s, and she had a specific type she recommended. I bought them. While I agree that they are better for women my age than using weights for certain things and I have seen a difference, I have also found that they cause bruising on my lower calves where she shows to loop the for leg raises out he aide and across front of body. Happens wearing sweatpants, too.

Does anybody else have this happen?

For the anxious / depressed amongst us - experience re: non-stimulant ADHD meds

\*not seeking medical advice

I am taking an immediate release stimulant (dextroamphetamine-Extended didn’t work for me, due to inability to control my response throughout the day/with this I can chose how much I take - some days less, some more). It does help actually with improving my depression / motivation that has gotten very bad in the past year with a family members illness and financial stressors. It also helps with anxiety l. Unless… anxiety spikes suddenly after of all being relatively stable due to those family member issues. Then I end up taking Clonazapan to calm. Which I’d like to avoid.

**So I was thinking a non-stimulant medication might be better. With occasional use of a stimulant if that’s not enough when I have a lot of work to get done that day. I mentioned it to my psychiatrist and he wasn’t against it but suggested one that I cannot afford (Quelbree). I have a terrible coverage called a share plan and they will not cover anything that is NOT generic.**

I am concerned about Strattera due to sexual side effects that I have seen through research can get as high as 40 to 50% of people who take it (and some other side effects).

I’m wondering what people’s experiences have been with generic Strattera? Or if Vyvanse has worked, even though it is a stimulant? I’ve heard it’s not quite as anxiety inducing. Or another medication that has just worked for you. I can’t take SSRI and Wellbutrin was just not a good med for me.

\* if you’re willing to share, it might be helpful to know if you are female or male and a female if you are in menopause. I sometimes think these medication’s very in side effects and effectiveness depending on these things.

Anyone else get sinus area headaches Headaches from at home devices?

I have a 7E Wellness micro current and just got a Mimisilk laser. I think I’m noticing that the next morning after using them I wake up with a headache. I get them in the sinus area and tend to have them anyway with allergies and some other triggers. I’m thinking that whatever they’re doing is causing some inflammation.
