It’s genuinely weird how upset people on this sub are about feminism, and not about gang rapes, acid attacks, dowries(including dowry deaths), and femicides

I say this as a man, all over the world, people can see the women’s rights situation. It’s so bad that they teach about it in countries all around the world. Over here, though people want to complain about feminism because it hurts some men’s feelings. Meanwhile, women are being abused, raped, and killed. A pregnant 18 year old teen was recently murdered by her father in an honor killing. India hasn’t decriminalized marital rape either, which disproportionately affects women, so women who experience forced sex by husbands have nobody to protect them. Incidents like this happen are unfortunately happening almost all the time in India. All of this violence happens towards women and a lot of men here are complaining because they think some feminists don’t like them.

Edit: Someone brought up pseudo-feminism, but even then that has nowhere near the effects on men as the constant oppression and violence towards women.

Why do people who hate "weird people ", try to partake in "weird" hobbies?

A lot of people who believe themselves to be superior or above so called "weird" people partake in the hobbies of people they hate so much. "Weird people"frequently get made fun of for interests in superheroes, anime, or Disney even though a lot of "popular people"do the same thing. This doesn't just end after high school, it often continues in college, and adulthood especially when coworkers share their hobbies together. Where is this double standard from?

Disney adults vs superhero adults

One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of people hate "Disney adults", and that a lot of people consider it childish for adults to like Disney. Compare this to "Superhero adults”, there are so many adults who like superheroes who are not told the same thing. I can’t help but wonder if it’s related to Disney being seen as a more feminine interest vs superheroes being seen as more masculine. Obviously, both men and women do enjoy both, however I can’t help but notice that “Disney adults” are more likely to be women and that “superhero adults” are more likely to be men. The differences in how they’re treated seems like an extension in beliefs that male interests are superior. Why is a person considered childish for being really interested in Disney and not superheroes?

Just shows how even things as small as differences in entertainment preferences are judged differently, because one is seen as more masculine than the other.

Too many people in this subreddit complain about women and have a “male oppression complex”

Type in “men” and “women” in this subreddit, most of the times you will just have people complaining about women or how men have it so bad these days. If you type in men, the posts will say “men are being oppressed” or “men have it hard” something along that lines. When you type in women, the posts say “women are oppressing men” or “women have it easier than women ” or something along those lines. Posts where some men complain about women get so many upvotes but the reverse is met with a lot of backlash. At this point, the relentless whining is getting annoying. There are so many people here really believe men are oppressed, even though in most places in the world women are marginalized and subject to much more sexual violence. Almost everyday here there are multiple posts complaining about women..How about people start finding a new topic to post about rather than complaining about women?

Man says “men should stop caring about rape victims”

He says that “men should not care about rape victims because it’s women’s business”. He then goes on to say, “because when men are against abortion that women say men shouldn’t speak on women’s bodies”. This is such terrible logic and seems like he’s just personally angry because somebody put his male entitlement in check.

Fear of sewage in bathtub?

I often use a lot of toilet paper when wiping, and because of this my bathtub has backed up twice in the past. There were times when poop had sedimented in the inside of my bathtub in the past because of this. I remember being so grossed out which was especially hard when dealing with OCD.

Recently, I have been using a lot of toilet paper again but didn’t realize until today. Today in the shower I was just washing my feet and the soap formed suds and then soap suds came out of the overflow plate. At the same time, the water in the toilet was moving. I’m worried what if it’s mixed with sewage. I’ve had a lot of close calls with this in the past after and between the two incident—my toilet would bubble and the water would move but nothing would come out of the overflow plate. However, seeing bubbles coming out of the overflow plate is freaking me out.

I am so overwhelmed currently—I’m unmedicated and my contamination OCD is probably the worst it’s ever been in my life. This bathtub situation is stressing me out even more. I’m going to cut down on toilet paper starting today but I feel so guilty. One of the times in the past when it happened to me, it also backed out of my parents drain too. It’s all my fault, and it is such a disgusting thing to experience. I would hate for it to happen again, and the plumbing expenses are extremely high.

My showers are two to four hours long

My showers are usually two to four hours long. A couple weeks ago I was able to do a thirty minute shower, and then I had some 70 and 90 minute showers.

A big part of it is that whenever I wash my butt, I have to redo it a few times especially if there’s an itch. And after washing my butt, I wash my hands, and then wash the body wash bottle too(in case I touched it with the wrong hand or just because). And then wash my hands again too. The cycle repeats anytime I need to wash my butt area or genital area. Because the body wash causes itching I often have to redo that portion. The worst is when my butt itches and I have to do it again after washing my legs, because the “dirty soap" would go down my legs. That results in me having to wash my hands, the body wash bottle, and my legs again. Also often if I feel phlegm in my throat, I worry that somehow it got on my upper body. So I often have to wash my hands again or my upper body area. It’s genuinely exhausting. And with washing my hands in the shower, I have to scratch my fingernails on the hand with soap, clean the cuticles, use other fingernails to clean under my other fingernails, and scrub the fingertips, and rinse them under weather. I often have to repeat this.

I don’t exactly know how this adds up to two to four hours but it does.
Even with doing all this, I feel like it shouldn’t be taking me so long. What am I doing wrong?

Arguments with parents due to OCD (revised for more clarity)

Today, I (22M) took a long time to wake up. I often think I do it to try to postpone my OCD. My mother later called me today telling me that her days are ruined because of my OCD. Then I told her something like “just because you call me a few times to wake me up (I never asked her to do this) and I’m in the shower for a long time does not ruin your day”. She then said something to me , I believe it was “narcissist”, and then I think she hung up.

Later, she came into my room and opened the door. I was sitting on my beanbag and I didn’t have a shirt on, since I removed it because I was scared the toilet paper touched it while I was wiping in the bathroom maybe ten minutes earlier. I was also going to not put on a new shirt until I brushed. She said “why do you have no clothes on”, but I did have some on just not my shirt. Then she said something about “this doesn’t affect the house? ”, and about “my four hour showers. Then she talked really loudly about me using THC in the past ever since we went to college.

She then at one point, told me that “You have severe mental illness if you can’t see how this affects us”. At one point I started hitting myself with my phone, and punching myself in the face because I was overwhelmed. And she said “look how crazy you’re acting”. Then I told her twice to “get the fuck out”, and she saw my phone on the ground and took it. Said that if I talk to her like that I’m losing my phones but then I eventually pulled it away from her hands. I feel bad for cursing at my mother and hitting myself but I was overwhelmed. She also later scolded me about how I use so much toilet paper, and take 2-4 hour long showers, and that it’s effecting the house.

I am currently unemployed and do not have enough money to move out or pay for all of my belongings.

Frequent arguments with my family due to OCD, poor academic performance, and unemployment

I want to start off and say that I am not perfect and have made many mistakes and often it’s understandable why my parents are so upset at me. At the same time though, they do frequently take away my independence even at the age of 22 due to financial dependency which will be explained later here. A mixture of OCD, past THC use, and low motivation has affected my ability to perform good in school. Additionally, because of unemployment my parents have a lot of financial leverage over me. I had tried to apply to a couple of jobs in the past but gave up easily after rejections. I did do DoorDash part time in the past but it didn’t really make good money and I spent the money on THC. Because of my OCD, current and past unemployment, and poor academic performance. I frequently get into arguments with my parents.

Today, I took a long time to wake up. I often think I do it to try to postpone my OCD. My mother later called me today telling me that her days are ruined because of my OCD. Then I told her something like “just because you call me a few times to wake me up (I never asked her to do this) and I’m in the shower for a long time does not ruin your day”. She also later scolded me about how I use so much toilet paper, and take 2-4 hour long showers, and that it’s effecting the house.

I live with my parents currently, because during college I frequently would sleep too long which ended up with me not going to classes a lot and also had motivation and substance abuse issues which resulted in me failing about 13 classes, which I also medically withdrew from. Because of low motivation, I wasn’t able to apply to many jobs while I was in college . I did apply to a couple but wasn’t accepted, and then I did DoorDash part time which pays very little. My mother often said that “it wasn’t a real job”, since it didn’t really have structure. She also said that she “never saw a penny of that money”, and I used the DoorDash money to get high really often). And in the past my parents did pay off two separate credit card debts(one of which she found while coming into my apartment when I was in college searching for drugs because she thought I was high). Since my parents payed for tuition and my apartment, they made me come back home. They had done this in the middle of my Spring Sophomore semester, Spring semester of my fourth year, and since I failed a lot of classes I would need more time to graduate so the same is happening for the next fall semester. As for doing DoorDash now, I haven’t been doing it past several months since she said so often it wasn’t a real job, and that she didn’t see the money from it, and because it didn’t make as much. All of these factors led to me not wanting to do it.

Regardless, I acknowledge that I have been problematic and made mistakes in the past. Still, I frequently get insulted by my mother for my mental state, have been called “delusional, crazy, mentally ill” which especially hurts because I do have mental health problems. I have been told by my mother “you can’t ignore the possibility of schizophrenia”. Also when I told both of my parents, I thought my uncle had molested me they told me that “it didn’t happen, and that I was in psychosis from THC gummies”, but I was never hospitalized for psychosis. My Dad even called my psychiatrist a couple days later, and told him “he is having delusions of being molested”. I do think my uncle molested me when I was little. In arguments, they frequently bring up past THC use and say that it made me think that my uncle molested me when I was little . I already had self doubt if that even happened which I read was normal among CSA survivors but ever since I’ve been even more confused. Since my parents would repeatedly tell me it never happened.

Should I still get Pokopia even if I’m not a Pokémon fan?

I’m hearing a lot of people are saying it’s one of the best if not the best game for the Switch 2. Personally, I was never really interested in Pokémon growing up, and didn’t play the games or collect any cards. Most of my exposure to Pokémon is playing some of the characters in Super Smash Bros. I’ve heard people say Pokopia is kind of like Animal Crossing, but with Pokémon and a touch of Minecraft-like gameplay. Should I still get the game?

My mother told me that I wouldn’t be able to do some compulsions if I was poor

In the past, a few times, I used a lot of paper towels to clean some of my candle accessories. I come from a well-off family. She told me that I wouldn’t be able to do that if I were poor and basically alluded to me being able to do some compulsions because our family is well-off. She also says the same for my excessive handwashing and showering. My Mom and Dad always tell me that I’m wasting their money and that they can’t afford my showers. How true is it that I wouldn’t be doing some compulsions if I was poor? They know that I have OCD too.

I hate how women are treated

Just because she got pregnant doesn’t mean she deserved to be drowned. We can’t ignore the very real misogyny that goes on, and the comments are disgusting.

And it’s weird how there’s no outrage towards the boy who got her pregnant, why does our society always place shame on women? Even then, she didn’t deserve this. Her father is the scum of the Earth.
