Hello all,

I'm wondering if someone could gently point me towards the glaringly obvious mistake that I'm missing.

I'm happily sorting my folders, and everything is working well, when I suddenly get the genius idea that instead of having numerous libraries for Arthur C. Clarke, PKD, Frank Herbert, etc., I'll just make a Library called Science-Fiction and have all of these author folders (now sub-folders) sat in one big Science-Fiction folder.

It seemed to work until I realised that it had just cherry-picked twelve books from the sub-folders for my Science-Fiction library and added no more.

I gave it a re-scan, just in case more needed to come through. Nope.

I checked my tags in MP3tag, and all seemed okay.

So, believing I'd knackered it up somehow, I deleted the library, restarted my Audiobookshelf, and created the Library again.

Same thing. Same books. Cherry-picked twelve books from the sub-folders.

I've no idea what I'm doing wrong, but clearly I am.

Can anyone kindly point me towards the simple fix, and I'll leave quietly apologising.

As above, this is probably going to cause an awful lot of people slapping their palms to their collective foreheads, but for the life of me I can't work out how to combine all my books onto one giant "Bookshelf".

I've got them happily sorted into their own individual series, using the website, but putting my collected books in one view. No idea.

I thought I'd worked it out, buy just selecting the parent folder, but it only pulled through about ten titles.

Can anyone guide me gently by the hand to where I'm supposed to be looking, and I promise I won't eat any crayons on the way?

I'm wondering if anyone can help.

I've got an ancient folder that I've carried around across multiple computers, full of my favourite audiobooks. However, they're all in MP3 format, and I've recently discovered the joy of bringing them all together into m4b/m4a files using Audiobookshelf.

I'm going to keep my MP3 folder safe as a backup, but I'd like to combine them all into the m4b/m4a format so they look nice and tidy in my Audiobookshelf library.

I've downloaded a piece of software called fre:ac, as Google told me this does batch conversion. For the life of me, though, I can't work out how to process multiple folders at once, only single ones.

Can anyone direct me on how to do this? If fre:ac doesn't actually support batch converting multiple folders, could anyone recommend software that does?

I'm running Windows 11.

I would obviously love a 4K release, but here in the UK, I'm struggling to find the series on Blu-ray.

The only versions I can seem to find are imports, NTSC, from the US and I've not got the hardware for that.

Or Spain, but the box art is in Spanish, and I don't have a problem with the Spanish language, except I don't speak it and it'll stickout like a sore thumb, against my scores and scores of non-Spanish boxes.

So, if there's anyone reading this from Mr. Robot disc production land, and happen to know the UK market. Is there any possibility you could see your way to releasing a UK Blu-ray boxset please?

Now to my question.

I'm currently listening to Titan on Audible, and my brain has already itched a couple of times, and I'm wondering if the UK book-written version is the same as the Audible UK version.

I'm a bit fussy when it comes to other countries' terminology sneaking into the language of old Blighty. Especially when it's not needed. I know, forgive me, I'm old(ish). When I see British YouTubers saying, "Dollars" or "Feds", when they're clearly living in Brighton. It's frustrating.

So, listening to Titan, and I'm only at the beginning, when Rimmer has received a ticket for "Jaywalking". My brain goes, 'I'm sorry?'. What the ruddy flip!?

There was another instance of this not so long before that pricked my ears too, but I can't recall it.

This has led me to wonder if the actual book release in the UK contains "jaywalking", or is this just in the Audible version? As the Audible will be going out across the US and UK, along with anywhere else that wants to hear Mr. Barrie.

Again, I know this is fussy, and I'll probably be hounded into a corner here, but it has made me wonder if there's a difference.

After meeting an old man in the desert, I've decided to start listening to the voices in my head, and I want to vaporise two million people. Thanks to the power of the ZX81, I can now do that, with 3D Star Raid, which is definitely not Star Wars.

It occurred to me just last night, as the wife and I were catching up on this weeks RAW and Smackdown, why I like the War Raiders so much.

It's not because, for big fellows, they can move flipping fast and pull off some quite fantastic moves, delivering some brutal-looking wrestling in the ring.

It's because they could easily fall back into my classic era of WWF, from the 80's and early 90's.

Honestly, if I were watching a classic wrestling videotape, and by fluke of a flux capacitor, The Bushwhackers were being mauled by the War Raiders, I'd probably think, 'Everything is normal here...'.

Today I've been given the stressful job of being Earth's Last Hope, as I load up Zevious Seven from David Stephenson. Which I'm not being funny, I've seriously got enough on my plate already without having to save the world...again! Still, in for a penny!

I am unsure what the issue here is. I noticed this on my last journey, but I presumed it was something I had done, so I ignored it then. However, whatever digital conversation is going on between Strava and Google Fit recently, only half the mapped route is being shown.

The distance and time are correct, and nothing else seems out of the ordinary, just the map is wrong.

I never paused Strava, nor am I tracking it separately on Google Fit. I usually just end my ride on Strava, type what I have done, add a few pictures and upload. On occasion, I need to edit it to "wake up" the sync to Google Fit, but I have never had this happen before.

Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong here? Is this a setting issue, or a currently known bug?

What is with all the Steam Controller hullabaloo?

Yes, I'm living under an old man rock here, but I'm using a Gamesir T4n Lite Controller on my PC, for when needs must and a controller is required on Steam games.

Is everything going over to a Steam Controller, or am I safe with my lovely little piece of plastic?

Again, apologies if I'm a touch out of touch here.
