My whole life I’ve been the peacekeeper. Since April, I’ve finally been in therapy to unlearn habits and finally stand up for myself against my mom. I’ve been slowly withdrawing (remove location on phone, not be so responsive etc).

Last night I finally sent a letter to her over text standing up for myself and my fiancée over comments that my siblings have told me that she has made about my fiancée and how she “controls me”. 5 mins after I sent it, I get a FaceTime call of her in tears, the typical “why do you make me out to be the villain” speech and keeps tripping me up by changing topics to reasons why she’s hurt by me which my natural instinct was to apologize. Afterward I’m debriefing with my fiancée and she says, “well did you ever hear the words I’m sorry from her?” And now I’m beating myself up over it. I folded like I always do. It was still a big step of standing up for myself and my fiancée but in the end, I ended up apologizing? I’m trying to remind myself that I should be proud of myself but it’s hard.

hey everyone — so been a kpop fan since 2018 and admittedly, I exclusively listen to girl groups (twice, loona & red velvet are my ults) … however in the past couple months I’ve become absolutely obsessed with Tempo. Their title tracks are absolutely bangers. Basically what I’m asking is what are some songs in their discography I should listen to next? My fave titles so far are call me baby, tempo and obsession. After watching a few color coded videos, my fave singers are Baekhyun, Chen and Sehun. Also can anyone explain all the subunits or send me to a video to help me? Thank you 🥹💖

my 10 year old dog has been in liver failure and tomorrow morning is the day my family is putting her down. I live 500 miles away and I feel like my heart is breaking. I can’t stop on and off crying. She’s my other half, my soulmate. I wrote her a letter and I’ve read it to her over FaceTime but I need another place to share it.

After losing __, it was hard to imagine what it would be like to bring a new golden doodle into the family, and we couldn’t have found a more perfect girl.

I will never forget the day I met you and we brought you home (our little Valentine on Feb 13, 2016). The worker put you in my arms and you furiously licked my chin and mouth, something you never stopped doing. I burst into tears. Little did I know it, but I had met my soulmate.

For the whole 3 hour car ride home, you sat in my lap, something that would become a constant between us. I still haven’t met & I don’t think I will ever meet a dog who loves cuddles more than you.

You always loved people more than other dogs but there still is someone who ranks about the rest: (other dog’s name). Watching the way you two love each other has been such a blessing. No one has loved each other more than you two have (except when it was cookie time and you always stole from her.)

You were always the happiest to see us and the saddest to see us go. You radiate happiness. I want to thank you for always being there for me & for always putting a smile on my face.

I hope that over the rainbow that you’ll have plenty of room to “stretch your legs,” plenty of duckies to chase and people for you to love on. I love you ___, rest easy.

I am the daughter of someone who has been sober for almost 15 years and I want to read a book on the history of AA to learn more about the program in general. I was looking up recommendations on google but felt like I needed more help on what I am looking for. Thank you!

Happy to see such a positive online community who looks out for each other. I know what a blessing AA has been for my parent and I am immensely proud to be their daughter and for choosing themselves, not just to be better for us kids or others in their life.
