What game is that for you?

Biggest offender for me is Baldur’s Gate 3.

Some of the best gameplay, graphics, sound design, and soundtrack out there… but the writing leaves a lot to be desired (despite how popular it is).

What game is that for you?

Getting there!

Here are some more screenshots of how it’s going! 60 FPS inside the city, as well as outside with some dips in dense areas on Xbox Series S.

Man, this is a ton of work. At least I know now that the best way to have my order stay in place is to sort them offline.

Here are some of the mods from my load order:

Master files:
- USSEP
- SWF
- Skyrim Landscape and Water Fixes

Creation Club Patches:
- SLaWF Patch - Anniversary Edition

Bug Fixes:
- Lightened Skyrim Complete _ SLaWF
- SLaWF - USSEP Patch
- Navigator - Navmesh Fixes

For weather:
- DAWN Dramatic Atmospheres, Weathers, and Nature
- DAWN - Upgraded Cloud Textures by clofas1
- DAWN - Brighter Nights

For grass:
- Skoglendi - A Grass Mod + Grass Fix
- Landscape Fixes for Grass Mods
- SLaWF - LFfGM (due to having SLaWF)
- No Grassias by Knight4Life
- Less Grass 80 Version

Interiors:
- Dust Effects by HHaley and DarkJesusmn
- Relighting Skyrim with Window Shadows & FX

Trees & Flora:
- Cathedral Plants & Mushrooms 1k
- Happy Little Aspens Ablaze

Bottom of LO:
- DAWN Waters w/Natural waterfalls

Disabled Records
- [XB1] Insignificant Object Remover

I have more stuff for textures, such as SMIM, Skyland AIO, Skyland LODs, Simplicity of Snow, but I might just make another post to show my full load order. Hope this helps anyone!

Slowly getting there…

I’m completely new to modding and I’ve been fighting this damn UI system to get my game looking beautiful, refreshed, and clean. Here are a few screen grabs from some of my playtests. These are screenshots from an Xbox Series S, and I’m trying to keep it so that it runs at a smooth 60fps. I just started learning how to mod a week ago, if it shows lol. Still a WIP!

I can upload my full list, but it’s mostly built of Skyland AIO / Skyland LODs, Happy Little Trees + LODs, 2021 Obsidian Weathers with God Rays, etc.

Want to start modding; any tooltips or suggestions?

I started playing DA: Origins 2-3 days ago and I’m loving my experience. I’ve realised mods are a necessity with this game (at least for me) and I want to do some of my own mods with this game.

I know this game comes with tons of internal problems, and is probably not the best to start off on, but I’m mainly looking to do basic things, like UI customization & new loading screens/main menu.

I primarily want to create a whole new reworked main menu, with centered buttons and possibly a different photo each time on load, or an animated background (although I’m not sure it’s set up to handle that). I am also okay with just doing my own image, but am mainly interested in how to retool the main menu UI.

Any help is much appreciated! I will respond as soon as I am able.

I think now’s as good a time as ever to crush our backlogs lol

This Steam Summer sale left me underwhelmed (albeit there was some good deals) and had me feeling content with what I had in my library. Funnily enough, it made me want to start playing on Steam more and crush out those indie titles I hoard because they look interesting and then I end up buying more I never play 😂

Anyone else feel this way?

My first custom controller!!

I’ve wanted a custom Xbox controller through Design Lab since high school. This past year I’ve been rocking a PowerA wired controller; it gets the job done, but leaves a lot to be desired.

My mom recently got a Windows laptop for school, which came with Microsoft Premium, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a year and a free custom controller. She let me design my own, and with all the add-ons I wanted, it only came out to $37–38

The timing couldn’t have been better either. I just started playing The Witcher 3 for the first time, and it happened to land right around the game’s 10th anniversary, which came with a special faceplate design. Felt like it was meant to be!

Not an ad, just excited to finally have something I’ve wanted for years and wanted to share. :))

[US] Engagify - Anyone else have this experience?

Right after applying to a couple marketing jobs in the southeast area, I get this text and email saying this:

“Hi (Insert my name here),

Your resume was smart-matched here at Engagify through a local recruiting company. We work with several recruiting partners who handle the initial resume screening process and put forward the strongest candidates for our openings—including you!

After reviewing your resume, I believe your previous experience would be a great fit for our Account Manager opening, and I would love the opportunity to speak with you further.

Since you probably haven't had the chance yet to review the job details, before scheduling a formal interview, I'd like to invite you to a quick 10–15 minute Zoom screening with us. This will be an informal conversation where we can provide a clearer understanding of the role and share more about what we're all about here in (Insert my city).

We currently have interview times available tomorrow between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM EST.
Please let us know what time works best for you, or if you have any questions beforehand.
We look forward to speaking with you!“

There’s more info but I wanted to know if anyone else has had any direct experience with this company? This seems very fishy to me and I don’t like my data potentially being sold to random companies in order to try and “hire” me.

Total War Newbie: Never played any of the games, which title should I start with?

I’m considering getting into the Total War franchise. I’ve watched a few videos on all the games, but wanted to know what y’all think.

Which title should I start with?

I’m looking for the easiest entry into the franchise for a new player in 2026 where I can pick things up relatively quickly compared to the other titles and the graphic quality will be good enough to keep me immersed.

I’m also happy to answer any questions at all!

P.S. I’m going to try Crusader Kings 3 in the meantime and see how that goes lol

Thinking of going into UX Design

Hi there!

I’m taking myself back to school in the fall, and have thought about pursuing UX design. I want to work mostly in the video game industry, which I know is very unstable, but with other stable companies as well. I had a bad experience with my prior universities, so I’m going to an online community college to get an A.A. and then transferring to probably get a Bachelor’s in Marketing with a minor in Psychology.

My Dad did/does UX design as a longtime contractor and I’ve personally seen a lot of how a lot of big name companies operate, how well it can pay, but how sparse projects can be. He has worried about AI taking over his job, but I think UX is going to be needed more than ever in the coming years. What do you think?

I’ve always wanted to be a musician, or at least work in music. Gaming is a huge hobby of mine and I naturally understand how a lot of it works, so I’ve thought about doing UX or Brand Strategy in that sector. And if those don’t pan out, working for stable, major companies. Right now, I’m working two jobs, staying with one of my parents and just saving up. Does this seem like a good plan? Thanks for reading.

Fries in the frosty = doesn’t make sense

In what other common context do potatoes and ice cream go together?

I get wanting to have something savory and finish it off with something sweet, but putting fries directly into a milkshake/frosty doesn’t make any sense to me.

It’s like eating vanilla ice cream with lay’s chips; very odd.

EDIT: Yes, I’ve tried it; they don’t mix well at all.

THEY WERE RIGHT - THIS GAME IS THE G.O.A.T.

the Polish dub is so immersive! I much prefer it to the English VA/VO.

I’m still blown away by how big the world is and how alive it feels. On the hunt!

Still no clue where Ciri is…

I haven’t included some games that I haven’t fully finished, such as Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, Indiana Jones, Red Dead, NieR Automata, etc. My list would look way different if I included these but I can’t knowingly put “best story” when I haven’t fully finished them. Wish there was a “best open world” or “best shooting”, y’know? But these are some of mine.

Agree? Disagree? I’m open to hearing it all & what you all think

Note: I play The Witcher 3 with Polish audio. I’m not really a fan of the English dub, and the Polish Geralt just sounds more authentic to me.
