Just got out of Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) - Seen It Countless Times, but First time in a Theatre - Totally worth it!
That was a blast! You really appreciate Tobe's effective use of environmental lighting seeing it on the big screen.

This stuff freakin' rocks!
Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Orange - sliced
2 cups of premium orange juice (tasty, non watery stuff)
1 cup of pineapple juice
1 cup of water
2 teaspoons of Orange extract
2 teaspoons of pineapple extract
4 cups of sugar (I know it sounds like a lot - it is - but everything gets diluted when you make the sodas. Still, adjust to taste)
3 - 6 teaspoons of strong weed tincture in a 195 proof alcohol base (most of the alcohol boils off in the process if making the syrup)
EDIT: originally I missed an autocorrect that changed "tincture" to "tongue"
Yellow food colouring (optional)
Directions
Set a pot on the stove and set the burner to about 3/4 (not quite to top heat)
Add juices, water, tincture and food colouring if your using it
Add sugar, stirring while you do. Continue stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Add the orange slices to the mixture. They'll float on the top.
Keep watching the pot, stirring occasionally.
As soon as it starts to boil reduce heat (and maybe even take the pot off the burner for a moment as at this point, it could boil over).
Reduce to a simmer (or very slow boil) and let it do that for about fifteen minutes
After fifteen minutes remove from heat and let it sit for a bit.
Remove the orange slices with tongs (they will be very hot). Keep these as they're a delicious and potent snack on their own
Using a strainer and cheese cloth and a funnel, pour the soda into a sterilized bottle or other suitable container and store in the refrigerator.
I use about 2 ounces of syrup for a 1 litre Sodastream bottle
I make a pretty potent syrup for my Sodastream, usually orange flavored using orange juice, a good orange extract, sugar and a tincture I make. I slice an orange and let it boil and soak in the mixture.
This is that orange. It's delicious and quite strong!
Thanks to indoor smoking bans and air conditioning, I could actually go to a Bingo hall for fresh air
They're both things you lie to wife about how many you have
I had the honor and pleasure to meet Max Brooks at a convention in Calgary back in 2014, and had him sign my copy of the Zombie Survival Guide. We talked about World War Z, but as a Canadian, I kept calling it World War "Zed" - and then I would correct myself. He got a laugh out of it and that's why he wrote that in the signature
I've neve cut/carved foam before and I definitely should have used better tools (and a dose of artistic talent), but here's my attempt to recreate the jack-o'-lantern from the 1979 classic Horror movie, Halloween.
I only have two people (other than myself) that access my Plex server. When my friend, who is running Plex on a Roku stick streams anything, it always shows up as the same file being streamed twice (simultaneously). Is this due to transcoding?
Thanks for your time!
You're going to need some games and rides
I used to use my XBOX HD DVD drive(s) connected to a PC to rip the occasional disc, but I found this LG SUPER Multi Blue GGW-H20L on Facebook Marketplace a few years ago for $10. I bought a USB 3.0 external case for it as my PC case doesn't have space for the drive. It seems to work well, and being able to play and burn Blu-ray is a nice bonus.
I use MakeMKV (as I'm guessing most people doing this and running Windows are) to rip the discs and Handbrake to reduce the size of the files
I meant to catch Obsession in the theatre, but that didn't happen, so I snagged it at Walmart. The tragically Hip DVD was found at Goodwill, and I am super happy to have found it, as it's special (to/for me)
I think I got this after taking a quick online course/questionnaire while working in the computer/business machines department. I think this was around the time of the Windows 7 launch
It's been over two years since this was last posted to the sub, so I hope this is okay.
I remember the moment 13 year old (or so) Me first heard this song/saw this video. We had just moved into this huge, brand new housing complex (townhomes, walk-up apartments and high-rises) that offered grey/black market satellite TV to all the residents. Among the channels Like HBO and Cinemax was MTV. The first night in the place, in bed watching the little Citizen brand black and white TV my parents had given me as a gift the previous Christmas, I was checking out these wild, new (to us Canadians) channels when I stumbled upon MTV. Of course we had heard of MTV - everyone everywhere had, but it didn't exist on Canadian TV, (Canada's analog to MTV, Much Music, wouldn't be a thing for another couple of years) and this was the first time I ever saw it. The first full video that played was Mexican Radio. I was just a kid with no real taste in music yet, and this song seemingly imprinted on my still elastic brain. I've been a HUGE fan since that moment.
