Anyone think these were cleaned? I'm looking at the fields and not sure about condition

These were hard to take photos of because they're framed in a glass frame. I love the toning on them and it's hard to capture in photos but it's blue and purple. The details look sharp and I like the look of them. But I'm not sure if they were cleaned in the past or not. A family member bought a commemorative frame loaded with coins in 2001 or so and they've been sitting in there for about 25 years.

My first ever Lynx for $150 - not working but I'm excited to try to fix and upgrade the screen

I got this duo from a flea market seller for $150 CAD. The crazy price tag he had on it was with a game and he claimed it worked years ago but testing it wouldn't power up. The DMG works flawlessly. I often have fun cleaning up and modding them. I'm hoping with my modding and soldering experience I can get this unit working and upgraded for some fun.

What did I just fish out of my resonators f hole?

I pulled the instrument out of the case and heard some loud sound and after some careful placement removed rectangular shim looking piece of wood made up of three layers. The two sides are smooth with no glue residue or markings. It is entirely possible it's a piece of scrap wood the my kids accidentally dropped in the f hole when playing. Does anyone know what this is or what it could have been used for?

I think it sounds and plays normal although it's not my daily guitar and it's been a few weeks since I've pulled it out. What specifically should I be looking for in sound or playability that may be different?

Help me figure out if my newly inherited Silver Dollars are AU or UNC

I know the toning is subjective. A few of these have some gorgeous blues and purples on the rims that are hard to see in the photos. I'm not planning on selling these. I'm just trying to better understand how to grade these and what to look out for.

Unfortunately, the second of the Whitman folders had some kind of different material in it because all of the coins inside have a hazy reverse that is quite unattractive and almost appears damaging.

These titles are fun to read - are any of these lost media or milestones in adult film?

Have you seen any of these? The titles are fantastic and they definitely give me the impression that they're from the 70s to the 90s. A family member passed and left these. They're not my kind of thing necessarily but I'd be interested in preserving the titles that may be lost media or incredibly difficult to find today. Historically, I imagine that adult films were not saved well. Everyone's instinct was to toss these originally and forget Grandpa's interest.

How would you use boxes of HO scale model railroading buildings and terrain for playing Kill Team?

I inherited boxes of new and used buildings and terrain for HO scale model railroading. I'm going to make a small layout one day and I've put a theme on a Rubbermaid but I'm left with dozens and dozens of industrial buildings, houses, commercial properties, and natural resource extraction types.

I know that these don't scale perfectly and I've seen that my Kill Team can't fit into the door ways of the doors or regular buildings, but it looks like doors intended for trains to roll through work perfectly.

Any other ideas on how I can use these? I'm new to Kill Team and 40K and play at a friend's house where he has the Necron Tomb world and the Orks mech yard.

Did a bamboo ukulele surprise anyone in how it sounded and held up to consistent play?

I just ordered online an Ortega bamboo tenor with cutaway and pickup. No, it's not the crazy blue one, just plain bamboo. I've been looking for a louder ukulele and one with a simple built in pickup. I just invested in a Tranyor AM standard acoustic amp and I've tested a lot of cheap pickups and the amp really makes them sound like so much more.

I used to be a snob about instruments. I had to own and play a handmade and solid wood example and avoid laminate. I think there's a lot of caution with bamboo because it's a grass and not a wood. Even though it appears much stronger than a typical wood example we have yet to know how they will look and play after 15-20 years right? Are they that new?

I'm playing a lot more in small coffee houses and retirement homes and need a tougher instrument that travels well and I don't have to worry about setting down for a minute. I need a louder instrument for that audience and an easy to use pickup. I'm hoping it works.

What has your experience with bamboo ukuleles been? Are you apprehensive? Is the tone pleasant or too bright for you? Do you see them as simply trendy or a newer flavor in instrument building?

Anyone painting and collecting without an play group? I'm on the fence and need some advice

I've been looking at this game for a few months now because my LGS put all of the 3rd edition boxes on clearance. They've been sitting which is sort of my clue that there isn't a local playgroup scene, but I'm still interested. I don't own any wargames or tabletop minis games. I've painted some friend's 40 leftovers and loved it!

Has anyone else gotten into this game just based on how cool it looks? Honestly, I havent even read up much on the rules. The lore is amazing. The minis look amazing and I think i could probably use them for other games later. And i like that these are games dependent on terrain because in reality I really just want to have a game that rewards terrain building. Has anyone gotten it to paint and collect and eventually find a local playgroup scene?

Right now Collette De Bois and Jack Daw are the most inspring as masters with a general interest in the Neverborn and the Ressurrectionists.

Is this kind of damage salvagable? And if fixed risky for my VCR to play?

I bought a pretty rare tape at a garage sale and was thrilled just to see it. Upon inspection the owner said I could have it since it was broken. The position it's broken in looks like i can swing it back into place and gorilla glue it right back together. Would that type of repair hold up to use in a VCR? I wouldn't want to risk my player. Is this something you've seen before?

Should i keep these mics i thrifted?

I found these in a bundle at a thrift store for a few bucks. I'll have to test to see if they work.

From top to bottom they look like:

Venturer microphone (looks cheap)

RadioShack unidirectional dynamic mic

Nextech

Realistic Omnidirectional

Shure Super 55 Supercardioid Dynamic (really heavy)

(2) 79F158-4 IMP10K

(2) Numark DM-855A 300

A friend gave me a Tascam DP-008 to record myself acoustic or electric guitar and I have a Zoom H6 with the attachable capsules. Are these mics worth keeping and pairing with either of those?

Gain levels and preamp hiss - can I remove it later or should i start over?

I bought a used Zoom H6 for a great price to practice and learn how to record ambient soundscapes. I went out to a bog today to record three separate one hour sessions. I could hardly hear anything in my headphones so I started with the preamp at 8, then 7, then 6.5. Tomorrow I'm going to go back out to the same spot and try 6, 5.5 and 5.

Playing the tracks back on the Zoom each time gave me an almost constant white noise or background noise. I admit it could have been the amalgamation of everything out there. I set the device low to the water and blocked by the wind with a dead cat. There were birds singing, frogs croaking, bugs everywhere. Bubbles were coming out of the water and ripples were seen. Grasses, branches and flowers were swaying with the light breeze. I like the sound. It is pleasant and I'm happy with it. But i am left wondering if my preamps introduced the sound.

In each of the three recordings, the levels never got to -30 db. I used the XY capsules that came with it, recording at the highest quality setting in stereo. I've been reading about normalizing the sound and bringing it up in software, but if my recordings have preamp hiss are they lost or tainted? Will trying to remove that sound create artifacts in the recording? Unfortunately I didn't bring my laptop on the trip to test.

Just gifted a ton of buildings- help me get started with model railroading - I'm a bit overwhelmed

A family friend passed away and their estate said I could have boxes of model railroading supplies. They believed all of the actual trains were worth a lot of money so they want to keep those to sell. They said these are worthless.

I've been wanting to try this hobby since I was a little kid, but have never had the time or space. Now with three children and a full-time job i still don't, but I'm much more interested in the scenery and layout building than actually running the trains. I actually wonder what I would do if I finished a layout because that seems like the most fun.

Anyways, can anyone help me figure out what I have or can do with these as for a theme or time period? I put some smaller buildings toward the front because they just don't seem like HO scale, rolling stock looks bigger than the building, maybe N scale?

They also gave me rolls of felt, corkboard, insulation sheets, trees, glue, tape, etc. I'm thinking about making modular 1x2 or 2x2 sections that can be easily stored but also easily assembled and then taken apart when not in use. Does that work?

Do people collect copies of old Adult tapes?

A family friend passed away and the family was surprised to find a few boxes (probably 20-30) adult tapes in his collection amongst other more conventional tapes. They gave me the whole lot because they know I love watching and collecting VHS tapes, but adult stuff I would be selling.

Normally, I would think these would be an easy sell, but they're homemade in the sense that the guy rented tapes from his local store and made duplicates. He even took the time to print out titles with timestamps to print on the case. I see the typical titles like Debby Does Dallas but then a whole bunch of ones I'm not even sure have a digital version anywhere. It looks like there's even a section of 90s softcore tapes.

Is there a place like eBay to list these? Do they even have demand as copies?

Any recommendations for coal mining specific starter sets?

I'm not sure if I should be looking at a starter set or acquire my train cars one-by-one but I'd like to recreate a lot of where I grew up in the coal mining counties of southern Ohio. I'm brand new to the hobby and thought N scale would be perfect for my limited space. I was hoping to create a tunnel that goes through a small company town before heading to the mountain to load the coal. I plan on doing all of the terrain myself, and maybe even some of the buildings. I grew up in this area in the 1980s so I have a love of that time period, but I could go all the way back to the start of our community around 1880. Regardless, I'd like to pick a time period and be true to it. But it's all depending on what's available. Any recommendations?

Friend wants to give me model railroading supplies- what games match HO scale terrain and buildings?

It's far too much to keep all of it. It's Rubbermaid containers filledand I don't have that much room. It's mostly HO scale. He's offering trees and moss with felt and cork mats which I think is going to be super useful. But there are lots of unassembled buildings, circa 1950s with small commecial and, industrial buildings making up the majority.

I've been thinking about getting into miniatures wargames mostly for the terrain building side. Any ideas on games that work well with HO scale buildings? I'd love the excuse to play if I now have all of these cool scenes I can set up.

Help me figure out which Constantine or Constans I'm holding here

The edges of the coin are pretty rough and I'm sure some of the inscription is just lost to time, but this is one of the few Roman imperial coins I have that has a lot of portrait detail and is not harshly cleaned.

Just got a bunch of store credit with my LGS - what should I add to my library of 7th ed books?

I found a few old MTG cards that I don't play with anymore and was able to buy buylist them for $400 in store credit.

Right now, I have the Keeper's Handbook, The Investigators Handbook, Cults of Cthulhu, Pulp Cthulhu, The Keeper's Screen, and Doors to Darkness.

I'm thinking about time period specific books. Gaslight, Regency, Down Darker Trails, Dark Ages, Berlin, and Harlem Unbound are all in stock. I think i could just get them all. I love this game so much I'm strongly considering trying to get a full library.

Which books have you been enjoying lately? Anything that you keep coming back to or surprised you as not that interesting?

Eastern Ontario riverbed - First time going out - what did I find?

The second photo easily has a few shell fossils in it right? The first one is perplexing. Both look much better wet like in the photos. No cleaning was done.

I'm stumped on this Roman Emperor but hoping the reverse details helps ID.

The reverse appears to be a figure holding two items, one raised higher than the other, maybe victory? The inscription is much clearer to my eyes but I'm not able to make out what's there. Any ideas?

This is another one that has a patina that looks like it was silvered or at least maybe 10% billon.
