[Obsession] What would happen after the authorities start investigating the serial numbers of the banknotes of Ian's billion dollars?

A billion dollars in the $100 denomination could weigh up to 10 metric tons, an incredible amount of money which would totally fill up the entire house. The bills also manifested in a shower of rolls which would take up even more volume.

The quote: "There's no such thing as an anti-war film." (often attributed to François Truffaut), I'm looking for stories which attempt to deliberately lean into the contradiction and synthesize the excitement of conflict and combat with anti-war themes into a coherent whole.

So rather than an anti-war work trying to minimize the excitement of conflict and combat, or a work trying to be all about the excitement, i'm interested in stories which attempt to deliberately lean into the contradiction and synthesize both elements together into a coherent whole.

Wondering about the topic of reforms to the organizational structures of the JW sect

So the primary organizational structure of the JW sect is that the Governing Body is its primary leadership branch and body.

This is quite similar to the organizational structure of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in Mormonism, another Christian religious movement from the Second Great Awakening in the United States.

However, one big difference between Mormonism and JW is that the Mormon apostles follow the principle of apostolic succession from their prophet Joseph Smith.

While JW doesn't have apostolic succession, but instead, 'anointed' people assume the positions of power. And also, the biggest organization for such apostolic succession in the world, Christian or otherwise, is the Vatican, the Roman Catholic Church, while some Protestantist denominations do also practice apostolic succession.

There is also the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA), which, similar to the JW sect, originates from the movements of Second Great Awakening religious scholar William Miller.

And the SDAs do have a prophet(ess) of their own, Ellen G. White.

But now, there's a key difference between the SDAC and JW, which is that the leaderships of the SDAC are quite different from that of the Governing Body of the JW, they instead have quite a de-centralized electoral form of organizational structure, and they don't practice Mormonist-style apostolic succession even though they had a prophetess in White.

And so I was wondering the topic of reforms to the organizational structures of the JW sect.

In JW history, have there been suggestions or attempts by JWs to bring about the idea of perhaps reforming the organizational structure of the sect in ways such as looking to how the SDAC does things as an example?

And if so, how have they gone so far?

And if there haven't been any, how do you think it would go down if JW members start looking at reforms such as looking at the way that the SDAC does things?

How I imagine the primary universe "tying up loose ends" after the end of the movie

So this is just an idea about how the primary universe might tie up loose ends after the end of the movie.

And so firstly, the jet engine crashes into Donnie's bedroom and kills him. Then the FAA arrives and transports the engine away.

They take it to a warehouse, and then in the dead of night, when nobody's around and the warehouse is empty of people, a localized portal seems to appear by itself within the warehouse.

The portal sucks in the jet engine to god knows where, another dimension or whatever, and leaves everything else in the warehouse untouched.

The jet engine disappears from the world as quietly and surreptitiously as it appeared into it, and "normalcy" is kinda restored to the primary universe. And Donnie still remains dead unfortunately.

And you might also be able to establish a "mystery background mythos" to the setting of Donnie Darko based on this.

>Decades ago (almost four decades by now), a detached jet engine crashed into a quiet suburban neighborhood of Middlesex, Virginia, killing 16-year-old Donald Darko in his own bedroom.

>No corresponding plane missing an engine was ever found, and the source of the engine was never identified.

>The night after it crashed, the engine mysteriously vanished from the possession of the Federal Aviation Administration without a trace.

Which language group is more closely related to Old English Germanic, North Frisian or West Frisian?

West Frisian in the Netherlands is the more widely spoken and well supported language group, though I was thinking that North Frisian in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, is located quite close to the original Anglo-Saxon homeland.

How much of an influence did William the Conqueror's Breton allies have on the ruling elites of England in the centuries to come after the Norman Conquest of England?

I find the Bretons in England a particularly interesting topic, because they were an Insular Celtic group who migrated to Gaul/France from Great Britain and then later migrated back as part of William the Conqueror's invading force. Not to mention that all of the Insular Celts must have migrated from Gaul to the British Isles at some point in the past, so its like at least a three-times-migration for the Bretons in their history.

What do you think we should call touch-screen devices whose screens have a size in-between those of a smartphone and a smartwatch?

Like, the potential terminologies for such devices.

Apple's iPhone really popularized the idea of touch-screens large enough to fill up the entire face of a phone, and then phone screens started getting bigger to be able to show more.

And then, smartwatches with their screens started popping up.

But as people do more with their wearables, i guess that they might feel that their screens are too small and that they still want to have bigger screens.

Or it might be like a new trend towards devices like small-phones, smaller devices that are lighter and hence easier to wear around.

And then these two trends might end up meeting in the middle where we arrive at a new category of special touch-screen devices whose screens have a size in-between those of a smartphone and a smartwatch.

Wondering how to check the review status of a Tinder account

I was using Tinder and the system forced onto me a mandatory security check, the 3D facial capture where you have to move your face towards the camera

and unfortunately i didn't read the notification messages from Tinder very carefully, but i believe the situation is that they are currently reviewing my facial capture and have hidden my profile from the community until the review is complete

but the thing is, it appears that i can still use the app normally, i can still see all the menus and swipe, except that i believe that i'm not getting any matches because my profile is being hidden from the community until the review process is complete

so i'm wondering how to check the review status of my account since the app appears to function normally; so that once the review process is complete, i can be sure that it indeed is complete and be sure that my profile is visible to the community again

The American Revolutionaries made heavy symbolic use of the number 13, the number of rebellious revolutionary colonies. And I was wondering if the topic of cultural triskaidekaphobia crossed their minds at that time.

A bit of a history question about cultural superstitions and phobias, does anyone know if the topic of cultural triskaidekaphobia crossed their minds at that time

And it is quite interesting because some studies seem to suggest that even in the modern age as many as 10% of Americans have triskaidekaphobia, enough such that many buildings lack the number 13

[Blade Runner] When masculine-model replicants are manufactured, are a good majority of them manufactured with penises? As opposed to penis-less "Ken doll" types of masculine-model replicants.

"Ken doll" type androids are a main element in the Karl Urban, Michael Ealy tv show Almost Human, so its quite a serious question, not really a joke about Ryan Gosling's filmography. (although the Almost Human androids are more mechanical rather than organic like replicants)

and apparently in Blade Runner 2049 Lieutenant Joshi sexually propositions K

also i guess that there might be some ramifications, such as the question of whether a rogue masculine replicant can be stopped in his tracks with a swift kick to the crotch

What do you think Armacham did to handle the family members of their employees who got killed by Alma when President Genevieve Aristide sent them into the Origin Facility to re-open it?

By the time of the Replica uprising, its been a few weeks since Aristide attempted to re-open the Origin Facility, so it would seem that by that time the families of the dead employees would be wondering about their whereabouts, and they would probably ask Armacham about it, or perhaps file missing person police reports.

The 1776 U.S. Declaration of Independence states that King George III of Britain had "endeavored to bring the Indians" on the American colonists, is it correct that George had carried out such a policy?

The text reads:

>"He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions."
