1989 Selena B-215: full restoration
Hello, this is a Soviet-made radio receiver from the 80s. Made by the Minsk Radio Works (Kalibr) factory in modern Belarus, then Belarus SSR within the USSR. Export version of the Soviet domestic market Okean 214 receiver. This device has 8 bands- FM (CCIR standard), LW,MW and 5 SW bands)
Here's everything that has been done to it-
-Full recap of all boards inside
-Deep cleaning of the front metal plate and the rear
-Polish of the front plastic tuning dial
-Clean-up of old battery leakage and resulting rust on the battery terminals
-Replacement of the foam on the battery cover that holds the batteries
Overall, this is a very healthy and nice sounding radio. It's not as sensitive in FM as the VEF 221, another Soviet 80s receiver, but I feel like this radio was made more for SW listening given the more bands present here
These are kind of rare here in Bulgaria, the model B-216 is a lot more common here (Same receiver, except with the OIRT FM band that was used in the former communist block until it's breakup)
