Extreme facial bloating/swelling?

Ive recently had a pretty high fibre intake due to a big obsession with oat fibre and konjac jelly. Other than these, my diet primarily consists of fruits and vegetables. Ive noticed that my face has become super swollen since i started upping my fibre intake. Is it because of the salt i use in my oat fibre cakes? I also consume A LOT of artificial sweetener (monk fruit erithyritol blend and sugar free syrups). Or is this a sign of something else potentially? Thanks!

My shitty cheeseless oat fibre pizza with a watered down canned tomato xantham gum “sauce” next to the glorious cheesy pesto margherita pizza toasts i made for my sister

ive made better looking oat fibre pizzas (slide 3 and 4) i swear but i watered down the sauce too much this time and didnt put cheese on it since i wont eat it anyway 💔 also got lazy and just microwaved it with the sauce so it became soggy yet also dry… not my proudest work 🫩

no im not addicted to oat fibre i can stop any time

ive genuinely perfected my recipe and i need to have the chocolate one a minimum of twice a day help 😭😭 its so fudgy and chewy like a brownie and when its slightly undercooked its like cookie dough/brownie/cake batter 🤤

(deleted recipe sorry… not gatekeeping but its pure insoluble fibre and genuinely probably unsafe and incredibly unhealthy to be consuming so i dont want to influence others im sorry 😭)

forgot to update yesterday on my new oat fibre creations so i also made mocha, biscoff, sardine cottage cheese and egg, rotten avocado egg, lemon cranberry almond, and a random soy sauce veggie broth one?? 💀💀also dont have 4 konjac jellies in the same day as 4 oat fibre mug cakes…trust me….

The sardine one was acc really fucking good LMAO cause the cottage cheese got all melty and i put a shit ton of black pepper and lemon juice 😭 i didnt end up eating the avocado on the avocado toast one cause it was lowkey rotten… also my eggs are hardboiled because it makes it easier to take the yolks out since i only eat the whites 💀💀 the random veggie broth one was made bc i wanted a carb to eat with my dinner lmfao… ice also started using coffee instead of water for all the chocolate ones and it makes them fucking fire 😛 i tried whipping the egg whites into a meringue to see if it would make it fluffier and it lowk works but im too lazy to even add the egg white most of the time tbh so they end up pretty fudgy which i dont mind ig

still on my oat fibre mug cake bs…carrot cake, nacho, tiramisu, and lemon almond raspberry cherry 😛🫩 ive been having explosive diarrhea all day for the past few days since i started making these cause ive been having 150g+ of insoluble fibre per day but we ball ✌️✌️

base recipe in comments: https://www.reddit.com/r/ShittyRestrictionFood/comments/1u6neg0/consumed\\\_72g\\\_fibre\\\_in\\\_one\\\_sitting\\\_with\\\_these\\\_two/

the nacho one was kinda random but i wanted something savory and my mom made nachos so i just put some of the salsa in the batter and put a bit of the nacho cheese + ground beef + salsa on top 💀💀 for the tiramisu one i added coffee instead of water but lowk the coffee taste wasnt strong enough so imma have to remake it 😭 the carrot one i added shredded carrots into the batter and it was FIRE… so moist and good ugh. The frosting for the lemon raspberry cherry almond one looks kinda nasty cause i used cottage cheese but it was hella good so whatever

I LOVE vegetables... in total this was around 500 calories for ~2 kg of food 🫣 320g chinese broccoli, 17 calorie oat fibre mug cake, an assortment of other vegetables, an egg white, cottage cheese, sardines, and watermelon😁 ate with low/zero calorie sauces and seasonings and warm tea

ik this might seem bland and boring but i just love plain steamed/raw vegetables with a variety of sauces/seasonings LOL… made an oyster dipping sauce for the chinese broccoli, sprinkled salt, pepper, and garlic powder over the raw veggies and ate them with yellow mustard and hot sauce, and ate the other veggies with some g hughes sweet chili sauce and sf maple syrup :) the mug cake was lemon cherry raspberry almond flavoured!!

17 calorie oat fibre mug cakes (without toppings)

finally found a use for my oat fibre i bought a couple months ago that didnt taste like shit hahaha… be warned though these contain 36g of insoluble fibre each so id recommend starting slow if you arent used to high fibre because youll be shitting yourself all day lmfao. The calories are all from the egg whites if oat fibre is truly considered zero calories! the picture doesnt really capture the size well but theyre pretty big, ill make another one tomorrow and update in the comments with the weight

Recipe for one:
- 1/4 cup oat fibre
- 2 tbsp egg whites (one egg white)
- shit ton of monk fruit sweetener (maybe 3 tbsp? Didnt really measure sorry)
- shit ton of torani sugar free syrup/water/diet soda (enough to make the batter a slightly runnier cake batter texture)
- a bit of baking powder and salt
- flavourings (cocoa powder/cinnamon/matcha/pb2/instant coffee etc, vanilla/cake batter/almond/other extract)
- a bit of glucomannan (maybe 1 tsp? once again didnt rlly measure, you can probably omit if you dont have this)

the batter should taste really sweet; id recommend adding a lot of sweetener or else the woody oat fibre taste is rlly strong.

for the first one i added cinnamon and pumpkin spice extract and for the second one i added 5g of cocoa powder and vanilla extract (which added approx 10 calories).

mix all your dry ingredients before adding the wet then nuke it in the microwave uncovered for 1.5-2 min depending on ur microwave strength (check on it to make sure it doesnt explode though lmfao. I tried doing it covered yesterday and it failed and went everywhere)

I topped with some microwaved frozen strawberries and sf maple syrup with greek yogurt and pb powder and it was so fucking good omg id make another one but i dont think my body can handle more fibre today LMAOO

you could probably experiment with adding greek yogurt/pumpkin puree/apple sauce to the batter but i found it quite moist without these additions already. I poked a few holes and doused it in sugar free syrup which made it taste delicious or maybe my taste buds are fried lol. I have a bunch of fresh and frozen fruit at home so im excited to try new flavour combos like cherry, lemon blueberry, etc.

im thinking you could probably even make it savory/bread like by adjusting the liquid/dry ratios and adding different seasonings? hmmmmm i might try it tomorrow and report back

how to thicken non greek yogurt without adding extra calories/for minimal calories without reducing volume?

I love the texture of THICK greek yogurt/skyr but its higher in calories and also significantly more expensive comparwd to non-strained greek yogurt (e.g siggis 0% plain is 0.52 calories per gram whereas yoplait source yogurt is 0.4 calories per gram). I really like thick yogurt (ie dry strained yogurt/labneh) and have tried straining my yoplait yogurt to make it thicker which worked, but also drastically reduced the volume.

Has anyone tried adding xantham gum? or has anyone tried astro’s 0% balkan yogurt/1% biobest yogurt and can attest to the texture? right now im working my way through a costco tub of kirkland 0% greek yogurt. Maybe ill try adding oat fibre/glucommannan and report back

Ive heard about adding sugar free pudding mix which ive tried, but at the quantities needed to thicken it, itd probably be more worth it just buying greek yogurt/skyr lol.

for reference, some yogurt i would buy before i started counting calories were krema 9% yogurt or liberte Mediterranean 9% yogurt. im looking to get something close in creaminess/thickness with 0% yogurt 😭😭

Thanks for any advice!

DO NOT BINGE ON KONJAC JELLY

just spent the past couple hours writhing in pain, vomiting, and having diarrhea. I have never felt so fucking sick in my entire life. I was throwing up and shitting myself at the same time in the shower. I had to pause mid binge to go take a shit. Im currently typjng this naked and unlotioned fresh from the shower and having explosive diarrhea.

On the bright side at least ill never want to look at a konjac jelly pack ever again and will save myself a shit ton of money 🫩🫩

I go through 2 pounds of baby carrots every day and desperately need an alternative

I go to bed excited thinking about how im going to be able to eat more carrots the next day. I also love kabocha, taro, sweet potato, etc but theyre more of a hassle and also more calorie dense.

Ive tried snap peas, peppers, cucumbers, celery but nothing is as satisfying and convenient as baby carrots, especially steamed with maple syrup and cocoa powder/cinnamon. I also like cinnamon stewed apples but theyre more calorically dense and take longer to prepare 😭😭 im trying to find a veggie with lower calorie densitythan carrots that offer a similar sweetness/softness. ive been consuming steamed carrots as a sort of alternative to sweet potato which is one of my favourite foods but ive been staying away from them due to the calories since i could genujnely eat my body weight of them in one sitting haha

someone help because im starting to turn orange,, maybe ill try frozen/canned cauliflower/green beans and prepare them in the same way? I just like soft sweet veggies lol

anorexia to bulimia pipeline 🤡🤡🤡🤡

ever since being discharged from the hospital about a month ago ive been restricting but not as much as before, as in ill eat until im STUFFED to the point i can barely move on “healthy safe foods” (usually a scary amount of baby carrots). This has made me turn to purging to compensate, both by exercise and throwing up my food. Even though im binging on “lower calorie”’items like konjac jelly and fruits and vegetables ill still purge from the discomfort of being so full. trapped in my eating disorder i fucking hate my life bruh. if im not starving myself then im binging and purging it genuinely never ends omfg

Exotic/international drinks/snacks shops with zero sugar varieties? (eg mountain dew, dr pepper, fanta, pepsi, energy drinks)

The only in person shop i know of is ding dong exotic sweets in pacific mall and some asian supermarkets like foody mart but their zero sugar selection is kinda limited. Ive had to order drinks like dr pepper cream soda zero or mountain dew baja blast zero from online shops but the shipping gets pretty expensive. Anyone have any store recommendations where i can get flavours NOT available in canada at a reasonable price? Open to online shops as well

Low free T3 (<2.3 pmol/L) but normal free T4 (11 pmol/L) and TSH (1.78 mIU/L)?

Just got my blood work done today and im really concerned about my thyroid health. Normal range for T3 according to the report is 2.6-5.8 pmol/L; 9-19 pmol/L for free T4; 0.32-4.00 mIU/L for TSH. My ferritin levels are normal (115 ug/L). If it helps i do struggle with anorexia. Im worried about what this means for my metabolism. My family doctor is on leave right now so im consulting reddit for advice :( what do these results indicate? I have EXTREME hair loss, brain fog, and fatigue 😞
