When do you know it’s time?
My senior girl is 13 and will be 14 in November. She has slowed down quite a bit recently, and I’m really struggling with the question of when it’s time to let her go.
She is high-risk for anesthesia, so she can’t have surgery for anything. She still eats and drinks normally, which I’m grateful for. She also pees normally, although she takes quite a while to poop.
She has an old injury that causes her to limp, but lately it has gotten to the point where she can’t walk very far without wanting me to carry her. She’s about 60 lbs, so carrying her isn’t exactly easy, but of course I’ll do whatever I need to for her.
The hardest part is that my girl is incredibly resilient. She doesn’t really let me know when she’s in pain, so I constantly question whether she’s hurting more than I realize. Dogs can hide pain so well, and I don’t want to mistake her being a tough old girl for her actually being comfortable.
I keep asking myself: Is it time?
Not being able to have surgery for anything makes this even harder because I worry that if something serious happens, there may not be much we can do besides keep her comfortable.
For those of you who have had senior dogs, how did you know? What signs did you look for when your dog still ate, drank, peed, and had some good moments but their mobility was declining?
I’m not looking for someone to tell me “yes, it’s time” based on a Reddit post. I’m really looking for experiences and advice on how you evaluated your dog’s quality of life and knew when you were making the decision for them, rather than holding on because you weren’t ready.
She’s my girl, and I just want to do right by her. 💕
Happy to be included in the after-dinner walks 😍
Dumb question but..
Half of my books are new; I need to downsize as I am moving. How do you guys sell books if you don't have Facebook? I don’t have socials, and I've seen people say to sell them on Depop on TikTok, but I wanted to come here to see if anyone has done that before. I'm most likely selling them for less, like $5. I'm planning on going through my books this week to get it ready to sell. Thanks in advance!

Has dating gotten worse, or are we just dating differently now?
I’m curious to hear from both men and women: do you feel like dating has changed when it comes to effort?
It seems like a lot of people feel that the little things have disappeared like checking in, sending a good morning text, making plans, showing genuine interest, or simply making someone feel wanted.
What happened to putting in effort and actually trying to build a connection? Are people more guarded now because of past experiences, overwhelmed by dating apps, afraid of commitment, or have expectations just changed?
Do you think dating has genuinely gotten worse, or are we just looking for effort in a different way now?
Would love to hear perspectives from all sides.
I’m looking to connect with anyone in New England who’s been in a similar situation.
I’m currently caring for my mom after she had two strokes and now has mild dementia. She’s also deaf, and we’ve been struggling to get her the level of care and communication access she really needs here in Connecticut. A big challenge is finding providers and support systems that can accommodate ASL, so for now I’m her primary caregiver.
I’ve been thinking about relocating to Massachusetts or New Hampshire in hopes of finding better healthcare options and possibly better housing for both of us—but it’s a huge decision, and I don’t know what the reality is like.
Has anyone here moved to another state for better care for a parent or loved one? Was it worth it? Did you find better resources, especially for someone who is deaf or needs more specialized support?
I’d really appreciate any experiences, advice, or even things you wish you knew before making the move. Thank you 🤍
We are open to senior housing (as long as they'll accept me)
“Lightsaber” mold
I tried google image search, no luck. Anyone have any recommendations?
Show me pics of your hippo wanting to be involved in anything you do. Mine gives me side eyed 😅
37 [F] East Coast/Online - looking for my Carl (bonus if you get the reference)
If this is up, I’m still looking.
Dating with intention; please read before messaging. No sexual remarks.
(Please mention you found me on AMWFdating!)
Hi! I’m Vanessa, a 5’1 little firecracker living in Connecticut with my sweet senior dog (basically my child 🐶). I love hiking, paddleboarding, museums, cafés, fishing, DIY projects, and reality TV. I run, stay active, and I’m building my own business (with plans for another). I'm also on weight loss journey and I am planning Europe trip next summer!
I love good banter—if you’re funny, you’re already winning.
I’m looking for something real: a best friend, teammate, and partner to build a life with. I’m independent, honest, and value quality time. Also working on expressing care more, growth matters to me.
I’m deaf which just means you get a built-in hype girl. Off-key singing? I’m your biggest fan.
You: kind, emotionally mature, steady, and serious about a monogamous relationship. US/Canada preferred (open if the connection is strong).
Please don’t message if:
• You’re fresh out of a breakup
• You’re not ready for something real
I might get downvoted but I can’t have children.
If this feels like your vibe, message me + include a photo and a bit about yourself.
Hope you find your person 🤍
