My addiction to buying things I don’t need started at the Scholastic Book Fair.
True 😭😅

True 😭😅
Saw this just now and definitely wanted to share it here.
People keep posting these sound bite-like posts about what Whoopi said during the Baby, This Is Keke podcast. But did you listen to the whole podcast?
Sharing a quick clip from later in the podcast where they’re discussing pay, as well as pay speculation vs. pay reality, particularly for women and black women in the industry.
Whoopi explains later in the conversation that her The View paycheck isn’t what people think it is. Keke asks her if her The View paycheck is the highest she’s been paid during her career, and Whoopi quickly and firmly says “No.” She goes on to say that people don’t understand that a lot of what’s reported that celebrities make, isn’t what they’re actually making.
I’m not sure if people are up to speed on this, but maybe 5 years ago or so now, comedian and actress, Mo’nique spoke out against Whoopi Goldberg and shared parts of a personal conversation she’d had with Whoopi where they were discussing pay and pay disparity among women and specifically black women in the entertainment industry. Mo’nique was quite upset with Whoopi and seemed disgusted at what Whoopi was making at The View - apparently the figures Whoopi made weren’t what Mo’nique was expecting. There were other issues at play and other things Mo’nique was upset about. I’ll get to find a video and post it.
But to my initial point - I don’t think Whoopi is making an insane amount of money. I think this interview with Keke has gotten misconstrued and reposted, and people are creating their own narratives around it. But if you actually listened to the whole podcast you would have heard, Whoopi speaks more candidly about pay, and doesn’t seem to be playing up her The View paycheck.
For context, I’m a young combat veteran with mental and physical service connected disabilities. Initially I was rated 90% when I got out in 2020, and things stayed that way. I felt a lot of gratitude being rated that high. But I also felt fear and trepidation for some reason. I’d heard stories about how ratings could be temporary, or how re-examinations could be requested out of nowhere and can be stressful.
But after multiple diagnoses and 2 surgeries over the last two years (stemmed from service connected issues) I submitted new claims early this year. My new claims were honored, and I’m officially 100% P&T disabled.
To those who are also 100% P&T, how do you manage your monthly benefit? Do you guys continue to work, or do you choose to live on your disability earnings, and sort of take things easy? The cost of living in the U.S. is insane right now. Sometimes I wonder how anybody is making it, because the price of everything is so high, and continues to climb. I’m grateful for this monthly financial benefit, as well as free access to healthcare and dental care.
I think I just want to feel free. I realized I’ve been through a lot (like we all have). A lot of surgeries. A lot of mental strife. It’s been a wild last few years. There’s part of me that wants to simplify life, live quietly, and maybe never be stressed out with standard work again.
Another part of me wants to go back to school with my GI Bill benefits, study art and delve into my passions, and save my monthly disability benefit payments for a cool life after college graduation.
To those who are 100% P&T, what financial advice would you offer newcomers? What advice generally would you give to those new to this rating and what it offers?
I’m very curious about her vocal technique and how she’s maintained her vocal health, strength, agility, and tone through the years. I’m so interested to know how she’s protected her voice, especially coming from stage and Broadway, where endurance and strength is so paramount. What do we know about her vocal coach(es)?
I’m so curious about her vocal technique, and how it’s likely changed, matured, or stayed the same throughout the years. What do we know about her vocal coach(es)?

These dinner plates sold out completely on the CB2 website over the past month, right before I was able to complete my dinner set. Does anyone know where I might be able to find 2 Corvo White And Black Patterned Dinner Plates By Ackerman, now that they’re apparently completely sold out on C&B online?
I’ve apologized to those I’ve harmed. They told me to please stop apologizing. That I was forgiven.
In a strange turn of events, they later brought up my past mistakes and used them against me. That was a lot to internalize and re-work through and apologize.
In all the energy I spent apologizing to them, I think I lost something in me. I stopped focusing on me.
I have a hard time processing everything. And I have a hard time forgiving others, as well as myself. Sometimes I worry I’m too far gone. Too far gone for this world.
How do you forgive yourself? And how do you move forward and forgive others, too?
Sounds crazy to ask this, but how do you hold them? I hold my one doxie and wonder sometimes what I’ll do when I get the second one.
When you walk them, so you have two leashes, or did you buy one of those double extendable leashes to walk them together?
How do your two (or more) dachshunds get along?
Adding a photo of my sweet girl.
Did anyone feel bad for the guy? I feel like a lot of the fandom just really hates him, and this feeling is valid. But the older I get, the more I find myself feeling really sorry for Rick when he’s being bullied.
I wish the adults in this situation had protected Rick, as well as his fellow classmates, by denying Rick’s re-enrollment to Degrassi for some time. I think his re-acceptance into the school was a disaster waiting to happen.
I believe in accountability and the power of therapy, and I appreciate Rick trying to apologize to people like Paige and others who were directly affected by his harmful behavior. I admire him for attempting to get professional help. These are big steps in taking responsibility for one’s actions, and there are adults out here in the world who don’t even do this. But sometimes, other people aren’t ready to see or speak to you. Sometimes, the people you’ve hurt aren’t ready to forgive. So I wish Rick had been encouraged to keep a distance, and protected more by his parents at such a raw and vulnerable time.
But what do you guys think?
Like seriously. What was this about?
