HVAC/Furnace setup is questionable at best

I'm not sure what the right word would be (ethical? Irresponsible? The L-Word that I'm apparently not allowed to use?). I've talked to the office, shown them pictures, maintenance has been contacted with an emergency rating, but I have to ask- should I be talking to anyone else about this?

Aside from the crazily bending wood plank, the filter is the wrong size.

Should I be talking to someone outside the apartment complex about this? If so, who?

Why when you post a post saying you're disabled and can't do something do people immediately tell you you can and how easy it is and start explaining to you how to do it?

I made a post in r/espresso just with a pic of today's cappuccino explaining I can't do latte art, but I wanted to show off my foam dot.

A full half of the responses I got were people telling me I could do latte art, telling me it's so easy, or explaining the method of how to do a specific latte art like I'm dumb.

I've watched the videos, I've attempted the latte art to abominably fail. I'm fine with the tasty foam dot.

Then they started down voting me for explaining my disability so they could understand I cannot in fact do what they find so easy to do.

Ugh... Espresso is hard... But they will pry my coffee out of my cold dead hands

I can't do latte art

So enjoy the big dot.

And before you tell me anyone can do latte art... I'm disabled, and I specifically bought the BB+ because it does auto foam.

So big dot of foam it is.

Do the upper eschelon of capitalists understand that the lower classes need to have enough money to live, or it all comes crashing down?

Our society in the US runs on consumerism. People make money because other people have money and spend it in their business.

It seems to me that the oligarchs have forgotten this. They think the stock market is the economy.

And businesses are currently holding the stock market up by charging more for their goods and doing stock buybacks. Alongside not increasing wages and laying people off. There's an entire business model for buying up profitable businesses, stripping them down, then declaring bankruptcy.

This isn't sustainable. Once the lower classes stop having enough money to be consumers, no amount of price increases or layoffs are going to be enough to keep shareholders happy.

How often do you pull your shower screen and clean it? [Breville bambino plus]

How often do you pull your shower screen and clean it?

I just know I'm going to lose that screw.

James hoffman said once a week.

But in reality how often are people doing this?

And I got a breville bambino plus, so it'll force me to do descaling and backflushing every once in a while... It's just I'm not that handy when it comes to screwdrivers.

Coffee subscriptions... Are they worth it? [No budget]

Now that I've bought an espresso maker and my first online coffee beans, I am getting coffee subscription ads in my Facebook feed... Onyx, trade, and some others...

I personally like finding the right thing for me and then using that same thing forever. So being able to reorder beans is a must.

But I also sometimes like having a new flavor to try out. I've been getting advent calendars for my drip coffee for a couple years now.

Have you tried a coffee subscription? Did you get good coffee out of it? Was the frequency of delivery ok?

I don't think my taste is refined enough to justify the purchase I just made.

I bought a breville bambino plus and it was delivered this morning... Had my first flat white from it, using the pressurized portafilter and my drip coffee grounds from the store... Because the grinder and fresh beans haven't been delivered yet... And it was... Fine? Like it wasn't bad coffee...

Am I going to get my grinder in and the fresh beans and it's going to change my coffee life? Or do I just have the taste of a plebe and all the coffee is going to taste the same to me?

I really do like the automatic milk frother. That's a life upgrade.

How Amazon is fucking all the rest of our prices

Interesting video about price fixing that Amazon forces its sellers to do.

AEP is out of their dang mind

Just got a bill for $250 for the month of July... I used less electricity than last year and am supposed to pay literally double what last year's bill was.

I have no hope.

I'm on medication for bipolar mania that is leaving me depressed all the time.... Combined with PsA joint pain and fatigue and it leads to hopelessness... This is a progressive disease... I'm failing my fifth medication... My next step is infusions... But I don't see my doc again until fall...

I'm wrestling with the utter certainty that, because of disease progression, there will never be a better day than the one I'm having now... And the one I'm having now is pretty shit to begin with.

How do you deal with emotions like this?

Sitting here waiting for the AC man...

I scheduled a tune up a couple weeks back, picked today at noon... Nothing wrong with the unit, cooling fine even in this heat...

Got a text yesterday "hey can we come at nine?" I text back "sure, that'll be fine." No answer.

I set my alarm so I know I'll be up. Nine comes around, no one here.... So I'm like ok, maybe they're running late....

Gets to about 1130 and I'm going hey, maybe they didn't get my response and are going to show up at noon..

2pm comes around and I text them "hey, anyone coming out today?" Get an answer at 230 "we'll be there by 430, things ran over."

Now I come to ask you fine people, is this normal? Did I just choose a bad day? Should I tell them to kick rocks? How would you deal with just the complete lack of communication of timing?

I got nothing done today, because I couldn't start anything, because I was expecting them to show up any minute.

I accidentally discovered a bonus to having to have a code

I had a driver only deliver one of two bags, which left me with just my drinks with all the food still at the restaurant... Got refunded for it... Only now I have to have a code, because big refund.

Well I have discovered a perk to the code. I'm disabled, but my house has steps to get in, my back door has a wheelchair ramp but my front door does not. So I put in my directions that they need to deliver to the back door... As I can't get up the front steps... Well now that they need a code, they can't just drop it at front door anyways and leave. They drop it at front door, realize they need a code, hit my ring doorbell, and I get to ask them to come to the backdoor. Which, because they need the code, they do.

There's no fence, and my driveway goes past my house to a detached garage, they can drive all the way up to the back side of my house, they just, don't. Completely ignore the drop off location request most times. Well now that's fixed.

Grubhub driver picked up bag two of two

They literally only delivered the drinks out of a fifty dollar order... And before you say tip better, I tipped $10 for a two mile trip.

Reported it to GrubHub and they say they've refunded me my whole order... But my experience is I'll never see that money again.

Drove to the store to reorder and there was bag one of two sitting behind the counter... Instead of paying double to reorder I just asked the associate if I could have my bag and they handed it over... Said they'd tried to tell the driver there were two bags but he just picked up one and left.

Cold food is better than no food. Or paying double for food.

Russian bots on my Facebook comment

So apparently Ukraine attacked an oil repository in Moscow with drones, and among the drone hits a surface to air missile also hit the oil deposits.

This article tried to swing it like a terror attack... When they are at war with each other. And the Russian bots got angry at me pointing that out.

I love this polymorph!

Sorry, didn't know I couldn't take a pic of my screen with my phone in this sub... Redid it.

In anticipation of the anu vs padomay crates I bought crowns during the last sale. Specifically to get the recall with the 25 pack

With eso plus and those crowns I was able to buy fifty crates. First 25 I got the order pet, second 25 I got the anu polymorph. I am in love! I glow!

The only problem is there is a matching mount for 1600 gems... I only have 364 gems after opening 50 crates... Meh, maybe next month... Pray for my bank account.

Oh and we gotta talk about the ridiculousness I had to do to get a screenshot from my computer to my phone... That link to PC asked for all sorts of permissions to my phone... I think I'm going to delete it and install it again every time I need it.

Do any of these online therapists actually have good therapists?

I have been using the VA for therapy and have now "graduated" out of it because the VA I go to says they aren't into doing continuous therapy... But I am continuously depressed... So I like going to continuous therapy...

I keep seeing ads for online therapy (talkiatry and better help.) I've heard bad reviews for better help, but was considering trying talkiatry.

I have medicare. Do these online psychs even take insurance, or am I out of pocket?

Or should I be looking for an in person psych?

Have any of you tried online psychs?

Autumn tales shawl

So I bought three plates of plotulopi from the woolly thistle last year. It's been sitting in my stash because I couldn't find the right project. Well, I finally decided I was going to use it and did a deep dive into ravelry and came up with the Autumn Tales Shawl by Hailey Smedley.

In practice the design is extremely similar to the Sophie scarf, just without icord. It increases faster and gets to shawl size though.

Plotulopi is wonderfully squishy in garter stitch. And it's only come apart once so far, attributed to user error.

Yeah, No and No, yeah

Living in the Midwest, there may be some confusion on what they mean... Yeah, no means No... No, yeah means yes...

Anybody else have a localization that would absolutely trip up a non local?
