I've always wondered

I remember a story of some Ukrainian girl doing her high school exchange somewhere in the US, and she didn't have a great experience she said. Her social skills were fine, but she found it hard to find her place among the Americans

But also among college students, you often have two groups: 1) the internationals, 2) the locals/Americans.

Do you remember occasions where you experienced difficulty and perhaps realized it wasn't worth it (or just gave up on it from the start) when interacting with an international?

So from what I know, clear files have a specific use which nowadays is only used by Japanese. However, here its designated use is already deemed outdated

There's a lot of bromide/clear file merch though, and it's "frustrating" because shops keep handing them out after every purchase.

What do you do with them?

So my son is excited about metros (or public transport in general, but mainly metros). He especially likes the metros in Tokyo and the cool sounds it makes. Specifically the Chūō-Sōbu Line, because we'd take that every day

Now, I remember there being a metro toy that plays sounds like metro station tunes and next stop is so-and-so.

So I live in Eastern Europe. There's no Asian community here. I'm also a loner, so the odds of me finding like minded people wanting to play mahjong is ridiculously small.

Ik woon al een decennium in Litouwen (ik ben jong). Daarvoor zou ik mijn Nederlands als matig beschrijven (het is ietsjes minder dan dit wanneer ik de taal spreek).

Na een decennium maak ik mij zorgen dat mijn Nederlands niet meer op niveau zit (lager dan voor de emigratie). Ik heb nu een prima corporate baantje met een bovengemiddeld salaris, maar toch verlang ik om ooit naar NL (Leeuwarden?) te verhuizen.

Ik heb nu een corporate klantenservice kantoorbaantje voor de Nederlandse markt, dus het is niet dat ik het hier nooit spreek, maar het is alsnog niet super vaak.

Hoe lastig is het voor iemand met matige taalvaardigheden om een soortgelijk baantje te vinden in Nederland? Het liefst wel in corporate, natuurlijk.
