I'm a 1L in a traditional full-time JD program wondering how unlikely and rare it is to be able to transfer to a remote/hybrid program after my first year (assuming I am at least in the top 1/3 of my class). My gut feeling is that it's probably not common but I would love to hear if others have different experiences

Hearing what others were able to get from our school in financial scholarship is making me so upset because I tried so hard to negotiate for even 5k more and hearing these guys who just got off the wait-list get twice as much as me in scholarship is crazy

Here me out on my new idea for those of us (people like me) who know they will never get a registry for marriage or children:

Having a registry for entering 1L would be sick as we prepare for the poorest years of our adult lives. Books, dorm miscellaneous. items, moving supplies, etc.

I don't have the audacity to ask for any of this or create my own registry without precedent but I want to spread this idea.

I (30F) am beginning a graduate program in August and moving to SF. It's the first time I haven't had a job in my entire adult life (I have usually had one full time job and a couple side gigs) so I am kind of stressed. Since it's a new city to me and I won't have a car, I'm wondering what is in demand.

• I have a lot of experience in nannying and pet sitting (or house sitting).
• I also frequent my local plasma donation spot to get a hundred or so bucks a week.
• I'm not oppose to cleaning houses, cooking, being a hostess or bartender, or call centers as long as it's a weekend only gig.

Let me know if any of these sound good or bad for the city or if you have any side hustles you'd like to suggest.

I am about to begin law school this fall and it will be the first time since high school that I attend a full time in person program or job.

I was able to qualify to live on campus which should be helpful in allowing me to get back to my safe zone quickly.

I am meeting with my disability counselor at the school soon to discuss reasonable accomodations. It's been so long since I was in school, I don't really know what will be helpful What are some you've used that were helpful for you?

I am a grad student moving into Nagle Hall this year.

I am pairing down all my stuff and planning to bring some duffle moving bags of clothes, bedding, toiletries, some storage containers for under the bed, and a air purifier or dehumidifier.

Sorry for the dumb question but: How do people move into the dorms? Where do you park the car that has your stuff (I am renting one for the day) as you lug it all in?

Sorry this is basic, I never lived in dorms during undergrad.

Also what do people do about no AC? Especially for those of us that are hot sleepers. Just a high power fan?

I am still riding high from the show this past evening. It was truly the most artistically fully-realized concert I have experienced. The audience had good energy too.

I have mostly stayed away from other concert vids so I could take it all in, in the moment. I wondered if others have observed her crying through multiple songs in the past. The people in my section were whispering it seems like something was up and I didn't have any comparison.

Just want to add: maybe she just wears her heart on her sleeve and had that spontaneous reaction living in the moment.

There are so many male doordashers who appear to be using their girlfriend's pic and name. There have been numerous instances where a doordasher messages me when they arrive instead of following the directions to drop off. Because their profiles appear to be women, I have opened my door to find men alone in their cars.

The final straw was a man messaging me for five minutes late at night, outside my home insisting I come to his vehicle for the food instead of entering the gate code. I told him to keep the food.

Since making the switch of my name to initials I have had almost no trouble.

I loved The Other Bennett Sister but found it maddening they released one half hour show per week (what is this, 2003?). They just hear of my distaste

I am starting law school this year with zero student debt from other degrees as I worked through undergrad. Like many I am overwhelmed, confused, and panicky about the changes to student loan caps beginning for loans originating after 7/1/26.

This is a really stupid question probably but I am just going to ask it:

Is there any way for me to take out student loans before 6/30/26?

I am even willing to enroll in some other summer program if that would make it possible.

Again, I do apologize for this question and my general audacity. I do understand the caps support not being overburdened with debt but I am looking at having exactly enough for tuition and dorms but zero for any other expense.

I know BL is doing OCI 1L fall for your 2L summer but what about the people who don't want to do BigLaw? What about smaller civil rights firms, union side labor firms, and boutique firms?

I have friends who have been able to get tuition help through the California DOR. I am being told the DOR no longer does that. Is anyone else who is an incoming 1L facing similar issues? Or is it working for you?

I am enrolling in Medi-Cal this summer after I quit my job and move to start graduate school in Northern California (I know I will definitely need to file the full-time student explemption).

If I enroll in Medi-Cal in NorCal and choose Anthem, can I continue to see my therapist by telehealth who is located in LA County?

Is it really bad that I am so over my colleagues? I realized earlier today that grad school is starting 2 weeks later than I thought meaning I could work another pay period and have one more check. But then my least favorite attorney did something very characteristically unpleasant and I thought "how much money is the irritatuon worth?"
