Would Nie Huaisang approve?

Nie Huaisang is one of my favourite characters in MDZS, and since I already made tassels of WWX and LWJ, this was the logical next step.

The aesthetics are mostly borrowed from the untamed, since the colour harmony there in beautiful. Huaisang's bird and fan are custom beads, sculpted and painted by me. The tassel itself is also dyed black at the tip, to represent an ink brush.

I think the hardest thing with this was painting the landscape on the fan at this scale (twice). It's tiny!

Same doll

I did some "plastic surgery" to slim down the chin and the lower lip in addition to the face-up! And the face-up itself isn't yet finished, and the hair needs a touch-up. Still, I think it already looks great.

Tassels of danmei couples! Can you recognise them all?

And which is your favourite one?

I have had a lot of fun making these! Some are a lot better than others, some are pretty vague whereas others have some specific details of the couple, and custom beads made by me. Can you spot all the "easter eggs" in these?

Xiyao joins my MDZS doll collection

The Lans really can't help themselves.

All the dolls are customised by me and the clothes and accessories are handmade. The likeness is limited by my skills, though I think I've done a relatively good job. They are all based on their Untamed versions, since those fit the best with realistic face molds (the dolls from left to right; BTS V, modified BTS Jungkook, BTS Jungkook, BTS RM). Though I have considered making each of them their donghua outfit as an alternative.

Someone told me to do this after seeing my earlier post with banana-Jiggy, so here we are.

The hair needs styling, of course, but the face! I didn't really like the original sculpt, but the dimple convinced me, and I think it turned out pretty neatly. I might still tweak it a bit, but for now, it is great.

Or, well, I might still tweak it a bit, and he is in desperate need of hair, but I love how huge the difference is already. I don't really like the original sculpt, but the dimple convinced me to pick him for this project.

I am honestly in love with how it looks! I can't believe I made it from start to finish! I absolutely adore how it and the tassel turned out, it's just-

As for the sound it makes, let's not talk about that...

Mostly everything is handmade. The dizi itself is carved out from real bamboo, then painted. I sculpted the lotus bead from air dry clay, carved & painted the bead below it from a plain white bead. I also made the red tassel myself, which was a really interesting process, but I loved it!

This is just my rant about a fic rec. Sometimes I feel like, well, people don't ever actually rec the stuff anyone is looking for.

Just recently, I was looking at fic request posts for a specific **m/m pairing** and the OP kindly asked if they could have **soft** fics with a **HAPPY ENDING.** Since one of the men dies in canon after doing unspeakable things, the OP asked for a **fix-it** where he doesn't, and which is more sympathetic to his acts.

Well, guess what the most upvoted rec was? This 200k+ **f/m** (one of the men with an original female character) **misery** fest. Basically, the story is depressing as fuck, with the "evil" male character dying just as in canon, and the other guy being forced into a loveless arranged marriage with this random woman and just yearning for the other guy for the entire story despite being firced to have sex with the woman too. The other guy is only seen through flashbacks, and the ending is sad as fuck, with the MC lamenting he would never get to be happy with his true love, and that he could never love the woman.

And the person reccing this never mentioned any of _that._ Since the fandom has canonical reincarnation, and the fic was tagged with the m/m pairing BEFORE the "minor f/m" pairing, I trusted the commenter with regards to there being a fix-it / happy ending, as none of the other tags were too enlightening. But after about 50k+ words of watching the other guy just be sad and depressed, when he actually started being forced to date the woman, I had to look through the entire story to see if it was going to get better. **Nope.**

So yeah, I wasted my time on THAT. I wanted a nice fix-it with a happy ending, not 200k+ words of the MC being depressed and forced into a heterosexual relationship, even to a point of being forced to have "heirs" - in other words, force himself to have sex with the woman.

And after a bit, I went to check back on this fic-rec post. There were many people praising this fic in response to it being recced, and I guess it has some sort of holy status in the fandom where it can't be criticised? Saying it is incredible and that everyone should try it out. But when the OP, who had asked for the m/m with a happy ending, pointed out that the rec was NOT what they had wanted, they got downvoted for it.

Ugh.
