Came up with the pattern and sewed the dress all within today. It has been a long day, but from beginning to end, I just needed to trust the process and I think it turned out great... especially considering how tiny this doll is - the waist is probably half the size of a regular barbie's.
Not because customising the doll was particularly difficult, but the fucking dress!! I went through months of procrastination while trying to avoid it. In the end, I managed to make the pattern AND complete the dress within a single day, thus completing the doll. She still needs a necklace, but other than that, I am pretty happy with her.
She is originally a mermaid odile, but to get the proper height difference with the Creature (pic 3) I swapped her Mattel's Cho Chang doll body. That body is TINY, which made the dress all the more difficult to construct.
Back in january, I made a custom doll of the Creature. Now, Elizabeth joins my collection. (I had finished the doll months ago, but procrastinated on making the dress. I spent the whole day today on it).
That plastic hair and terrible face didn't give justice to the head sculpt.
Got the doll second-hand, knew I had to give it a new life.
I saw a snake-pattern shirt at a second-hand store, which gave me the idea. I used the shirt and made a pattern based on the shirt's size, then sewed it up and used some thick pipe cleaners on the inside to make it poseable. Finished it off with the eyes.
Give me any and all constructive feedback you might have, or just how you felt about this. It is mostly for fun and I am probably never aiming to be a published author, but I've been working on this since I was 12. I actually finished the first draft for the entire TRILOGY draft at that age, at around 280k words in total. I did a full second draft at 14, and now at 20, my interest for this has peaked again - but I have no clue if it is any good.
How is the prose? Is the "hook" good? Are Lawrence's reactions to both the emperor's death and finding the book believable? How do you feel about the characters, setting? Anything you wish was included, anything you'd cut? Pacing?
I know there's a lot packed in a single chapter, with the revelation of the emperor's death and Lawrence finding the book, but those two events need to happen nearly back-to-back. Originally, it was book-first, then the news of the death, but in those iterations, the beginning of the chapter was quite boring. Thoughts?
I couldn't post anywhere back then, but thought it might be appreciated even now.
First is fully digital, second one is traditional colouring pencils with digital on top.
This is actually from the same original art piece as the previous guy.
Back in 2020, I drew a shot from each PINOF. It's been a while, but back then, due to my circumstances, I couldn't show anyone. When finding these again today, I thought it'd be nice to show them off.
I also have some more fanart from them, maybe I'll post that separately.
Based on their appearances in the Untamed.

I think everyone is recognisable, that's great. Huaisang definitely is the worst based on likeness, but I just couldn't get him right after countless tries. Some others also don't look that good, but I think others look pretty accurate, and the clothes I sewed for each make them look better.
I worked on this simultaneously with the bigger painting I posted yesterday. My favourite mastermind.
And progress pics! Try spotting the difference between the last two. Lmao.
20cm×20cm, Acrylic on canvas.
Both of whom died far too soon...
Or, more dolls to my collection! Qing was already included in Ning's post, but I still worked on her a bit after that. As for Yanli, I have been working on her for as long as Qing, but I haven't posted about her in this subreddit.
