New iPad user

I just ordered a 2025 M3 IPad Air 11-inch, along with ESR Geo digital stylus, a case, and a paper-like screen protector. I’m about to be a freshmen in college with a major in elementary education and will likely use the iPad for handwritten notes and annotating pdfs, and probably occasionally watching movies or shows. Any tips or tricks for iPads? And good apps I should know about? I’ve seen a lot of people recommend Goodnotes for handwritten notes, is that the best or is there something else? I have an iPhone and MacBook and ideally want my notes to integrate into all of my devices without any extra steps if that’s possible.

Foxfire levels

Does anyone have a list of what levels Sophie is in at foxfire in each book? Most of the books happen in a vastly different time frame than the others so I officially have no clue what level she/her friends are in

Do I need to read CC?

I’ve tried to read CC like three times, and I cannot get myself to get past the first hundred pages without DNFing. Do I absolutely have to read it to understand the next ACOTAR books or will I be hopelessly confused? I’m OK with a little bit of confusion, as long as I can understand the plot. Please help!

Best tablet for college?

Hi! I’m about to be a freshman in college, majoring in elementary education, and with an undecided minor. I’m looking to get a tablet to use to hand write my notes and possibly annotate some PDFs. I already have a 13 inch MacBook Air and an iPhone, so ideally, I would like an iPad for the integration uses, but that’s not a necessity. Ideally, I would like to spend less than $600 for the tablet, stylus, and a case, but it’s OK if that goes a little bit over because I don’t know if it’s attainable. I do need the ability to write in color because it helps my brain process and remember the info. If it’s something like the remarkable pro that’s within $100 of an iPad/other full powered tablet option, I would probably get the full tablet just for the extra uses. If you think an iPad would be a good fit, which one should I get? If you know of another option that would be a better fit, which one? Thanks!

What do I need to know going in to pick my classes?

I know that I’m majoring in elementary education and I have a possible minor in mind, plus I want to do study abroad fall semester of my sophomore year. Do I need to know exactly what classes I need/want to take before I meet with my advisor? My meeting is next week, so I’d really appreciate some advice. I also don’t know where I would find the information if I’m supposed to know what I need. Thank you!

Is an iPad still worth it?

I’ve been considering getting an iPad Air 11-inch for college. I’m about to be a freshmen majoring in elementary education and I was considering getting an iPad for handwritten notes and so I don’t have to carry my laptop to every class. With the new prices, I don’t know if it’s still worth it. I can probably get the Apple Pencil Pro for free once they start the back to school sale, plus the student discount on the iPad itself. I just don’t know if it’s still worth the extra money or if I should just deal with it and use the laptop for everything. Any advice or suggestions?

Bodyguard genders?

Ok I don’t know if this is weird/random but I just realized that every goblin bodyguard is the opposite gender of who they protect. Sandor and Sophie, Grizel and Fitz, Lovise and Dex, Woltzer and Biana, Cadoc and Edaline, and Brielle (RIP) and Grady. I don’t know if this is done on purpose but if it was I can’t think of any reason why. It seems like it happened too many times to be a coincidence, especially since there aren’t any cases that I can think of that prove it wrong. Any ideas??

Book recs?

I’m getting really into reading again and I want to get into some romantasy! I’ve done all the SJM books and love them. Any recommendations? Preferably stand alones but a series is ok as long as it’s actually good and not just extra books for the sake of extra books. I like a lot of spice, not vanilla, and either straight or lesbian (honestly anything besides gay, nothing against gay people, I just don’t like it). A solid plot is ideal of course, but it’s just fun summer reads so it doesn’t have to be super amazing. Thanks!

Collective theories?

Massive spoiler warning!!!!

As far as I know, we know that Forkle(s)=Forkle, Magnate Leto, and Sir Astin, Granite=Tiergan, and Squall=Juline. When Forkle #1 dies in Lodestar, he says “I’ve lived five lives” (page 660 of the paperback) and we only know 3 so there must be 2 more. I’m not sure if he counts each twin as 1 identity so we might know 4, but I doubt that. I don’t think Squall has anything besides Juline because she’s already so busy with the triplets and probably would have admitted it when she was outed to Dex and Kesler. I wouldn’t be shocked if Tiergan had a third identity but I would have no clue who, if there is one. I think Blur might be Jensi’s brother because when he takes Keefe and Sophie to Ravagog in Nightfall and gets wet, Sophie thinks he looks vaguely familiar, which might be resemblance to Jensi. Plus, we don’t know many other Phasers and I definitely think there will be at least some kind of connection between each member of the Collective and Sophie/one of the current characters. I have no ideas for Wraith, mostly because we don’t know many Vanishers that aren’t a Vacker. Any theories on any of them?

What clothes should I bring to college in Arkansas?

I’m about to be a freshmen at a college in Arkansas, about 45 miles north of Little Rock if that means anything. I need to know what types of clothes to bring for the first semester (August-December). I can always get new clothes at home over winter break but I’ve heard the weather can be all over the place so I’d like so advice on what kinds of clothes would be ideal to have.

The great gulon incident

Ok so I know it’s completely irrelevant to the plot but I think I’m gonna lose my mind if Shannon doesn’t tell us what the great gulon incident is in the next book. I’ve been reading this series since I was 10, I’ve quite literally waited eight years to find this out. Based on how much it’s mentioned in the books, I’m expecting something really spectacular. Do we know if she’s promised to explain it?

Best way to organize this dorm room?

There are two people per room, and each room has two beds, two desks, two dressers, and two closets. It’s a pretty standard set up, but the room itself is smaller than other colleges that I’ve seen. Each bed can loft about 3 feet off the ground, so any ideas for organization, set up, or storage would be appreciated. There are mounted bookshelves about 3 1/2 or 4 feet above the desks, with about 2 feet of space between the top of the bookshelf and the ceiling

School supplies?

I’m so sorry if this is the wrong community for this question, but I’m about to be a freshman in college majoring in elementary education. What school supplies should I bring for the types of projects and classes I would be expected to have? I have a laptop and I am considering getting an iPad.

What to bring to freshmen orientation?

My freshmen orientation weekend is next month and I have no idea what to bring! What types of clothes and how many, what to have/know to register for classes, etc. Everything I’ve found online hasn’t been helpful so I figured I’d ask here. It’s early July in Arkansas if that means anything!

Is this a good plan for a beginner 18F?

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are prescribed by my physical therapist so I mostly need advice on Tuesday and Thursday. Sunday and Saturday are rest days, Saturday is a potential make up day if I miss any.

Best hair removal cream?

I have pretty thick and dark leg and arm hair. I recently bought the Flamingo cream. It worked ok, but left a lot of hair behind and it required such a thick layer to do anything that my legs alone take half a bottle. I can’t afford to use a full bottle on one use. Any suggestions for an affordable option that won’t use as much product?

Back to school sale

I’m considering buying an iPad Air 11 inch for my freshman year of college. I know I would get the Apple Pencil Pro with it, but many people have told me that I can get the pencil for free if I buy during the back to school sale because I can get the student discount. Does anyone have any information on how/when to do it, and if it’s true? I’m sorry if this is a simple question, but I can’t find anything online.

Remarkable vs iPad

I’m about to start college as a freshmen elementary education major. I was considering getting an iPad for handwritten notes, but my dad suggested looking at a remarkable. If I get one I would definitely get the pro for the color screen. I already have a phone and laptop. Do yall think an iPad or remarkable pro would be better?

Best iPad for college?

I’m thinking about getting an iPad for college because I really benefit from handwritten notes, and those are way easier to organize online than in a notebook. I have a 13 inch MacBook Air already. Which iPad would be best for me? I’m an elementary education major with an undecided minor. Budget isn’t super restrictive but obviously cheaper is better

AITA for not warning my friend about my conditioner?

My friend was spending the night at my house and asked if she could take a shower. I said of course, and told her to use the purple and white bottles. The purple bottles are Aussie brand, very bright purple, clearly labeled shampoo and conditioner. The white bottle is a big white Native brand bottle of body wash. There is also a bright orange bottle that clearly says “color conditioning mask” on it. I have my hair dyed copper, so I use this to help maintain the color. My friend has very dark hair, so it probably wouldn’t do much to her, except for her blonde highlights, which it would die orange. She came out of the bathroom 20 minutes later, crying, and saying I was a terrible friend because she used the stuff in the orange bottle and now her highlights are bright orange. Several days later, she sent me a Venmo request for the cost of her hair appointment that she got to color correct her highlights back to blonde. Maybe I’m being dramatic, but I think that is insane because I told her to use the purple and white bottles. When I pointed this out, she said that it’s my fault anyways because I didn’t warn her that the orange bottle was colored stuff. For context, when you lather that on your hands, it is very clearly bright orange. Also, she used A LOT of the product. I easily had 2 to 3 uses left, and the bottle is now empty. That’s a $25 conditioner that I can’t afford to keep replacing. I declined her Venmo request, and I’m not talking to her anymore. I’m still wondering if I’m in the wrong because we’ve been best friends for several years, and maybe I should’ve warned her. AITA?
