So I’ve been rewatching From and found a line in one of the latest episodes that relates to something I've seen discussed a lot in spiritual circles: a lot of people focus solely on the rituals and don't concern themselves with the intention/focus/participation elements. While the quote in the show wasn't about love magic, it made me think of the blockage removal ritual that I do when I feel stuck in my love life. This can be to meet a compatible partner, improve the communication in a relationship, or to clear out old emotional baggage. I can use this ritual for all these things.

A lot of people believe 'road opener' or 'blockage removal' work involves digging up and removing every single obstruction. A lot of people want to know who or what is causing the obstruction, and what energy is intruding, and where the blockage is. In my experience, this way of thinking is a bit exhausting.

This is a good analogy: trying to clear a road by removing every single stone.

Instead, I just clear the road.

I don't ask the ritual to find every obstruction. I ask it to remove everything that doesn't serve my highest good and to create movement where things have been stuck.

This explains why I think a lot of people misunderstand love-focused spiritual work. The goal isn't to bring about a particular outcome in all cases. A lot of the time, the goal is to bring about a change in the situation.

I use a combination of candle work, magic, and elements of Indian folk traditions, Tantra, and bhakti in my practice. Some of the correspondences I work with are:

Red sandalwood (Rakta Chandan) – traditionally associated with attraction, devotion, and sacred offerings.

• Nagkesar – often used in ritual work connected to prosperity, harmony, and blessings.

• Kamal Gatta (lotus seeds) – representing spiritual unfolding and emotional growth.

• Rose petals – a classic symbol of love, compassion, and emotional healing.

• Saffron – associated with purity, sacred intention, and elevated consciousness.

• Cardamom – traditionally linked with sweetness and harmonious communication.

• Vetiver root (Khus) – used in many traditions for grounding and stabilizing energy.

• Jasmine flowers – connected with affection, beauty, and emotional openness.

In a blockage removal ritual, I do not labor for hours trying to name every dysfunction in my life. I focus on the quality I want to develop: openness, clarity, healthy communication, self-worth, receptivity to love without fear. Ironically some of the greatest blockages I've experienced have not come from outside forces. They were old assumptions, attachment to outcomes, fear of rejection and resistance to releasing things that had already ended. That's why the line from From stuck in my mind. It's not the objects that give a ritual its power. Two people can use the same candle, the same herbs, the same words, and have very different experiences.
The difference often lies in presence, intention, consistency, and belief.
Whether you view rituals as psychology, spirituality, energy work, or just a meditation practice, I believe it's helpful to have dedicated ways to de-clutter emotionally and re-connect to what you want.
Also this blockage removal thingy is mainly used by me most of the times so it’s customised to my needs. Also at some times I do add particular intentions too if I purely see that , it’s the only blockage like using amethyst for clarity in emotions if my sp is being stubborn.
