I usually trust Blinkit and Swiggy; even if their cards are not in excellent condition but atleast I get what I order.

Well, my trust is broken and I’m unsure if I’d be buying again from this app.

This is a quintessential example of how to make packaging that collectors would absolutely love and adore.

I have been a Scooby Doo fan since childhood and I have been a toy collector for a couple of years. I've had the Mystery Machine by Jada released a couple of years ago. I also have the Batman series by Jada. Almost every time, the packaging goes in the bin.

But this completely changed the way I display my collection. The packaging is so good that I remember the packaging as much as I love the product inside. Brownie points to the packaging team that decided, let's keep all these figurines inside a Mystery Machine box and make it look like a diorama.

Here's what makes it unique. They didn't use a backdrop or acrylic case, but the basic cardboard itself to turn this into a diorama.

I picked it up during my visit to Thailand last year.

Mint Mark: The tiny "R" just above the year indicates the coin was struck at the Rome mint.

Since it was from the purple app, there were minor creases, but I am going to uncard them anyway 🤷‍♂️

Curious what McDonald's is selling with Happy Meals in your country right now. I'm a fellow toy collector who loves McDonald's, but the Happy Meals here in India usually don't come with toys, just books. This has been the case for a few years now.

I've seen the US just picked up BT21, and Japan's partway through a Cinnamoroll drop. Clearly there's a lot going on elsewhere. What's on your local menu right now? Country, toy, and a photo if you've got one.

PS: This one's the Happy Meal toy I got (Stranger Things: Tales From '85) during my Vietnam trip in April.

Before 2020, Hot Wheels were just... available.

Back then, I used to casually stroll into random toy stores, just to see what was on the pegs. There were no aggressive scalper policies, no "+1 rules" (having to buy a fantasy casting to buy a real one), and no waiting outside stores at 8 AM.

These photos are from a peg hunt on 5 December 2019. My friend was running late, so I wandered into the store nearby. Right there on the front pegs: a Nissan 300ZX, an '84 Audi Sport Quattro, and a Mercedes A-Class.

I already had what I needed, so I photographed them and left them on the peg — for the next collector, or the next kid. I almost never bought extras unless it was something I really really really wanted.

I've never looked at this hobby as a financial portfolio. It's a long-term investment in my own happiness ❤️

And I'm grateful my friends have always been understanding about it. I know a collector who lost a friendship over an argument about whether adults should be collecting toys at all.

I'm a very visual person. When friends texted "where are you?" or "how was your day?", I'd reply with a photo of exactly what I was doing instead of typing it out. Which means I have plenty more of these old peg-hunt photos sitting in my library — tell me in the comments if you want to see them.

Back then it felt like mostly kids who wanted to play with cars, and hobbyists who wanted the thrill of the hunt.

Does anyone else miss when it felt this relaxed?

Pulled this out of the collection today and it’s still one of my absolute favourites. Because it represents Bruce Wayne’s car from The Dark Knight Rises without being a literal Batmobile, it hits such a sweet spot for both Batman fans and supercar purists.

The metal-flake silver paint on this 2020 release (GJR43) just look incredible in hand.

I have both a carded and an un-carded one 😄
