Vegan Chłodnik with smoky tofu

Not a good photo but it was sooo delicious and refreshing. It's essentially a cold beet soup so I wasn't expecting much but 10/10

Seeker doesn't work on mobile data?

So I just downloaded the app, gave file access to share my music library and got to download about 4 songs from an album before it stopped, and when I search for something there's no search results. Wondering if it's because I'm using mobile data. On network settings, it says 'closed port' when I check status, I'm not sure what that means.

I've broken up with streaming services. Can you recommend me a device please?

My budget is under £100ish. I don't care about appearance, just want to be able to organise my music into playlists. Was looking at the HiBy R1 but there's hit and miss reviews. Also considered getting an old compact Sony phone to use as a music player, or a Sony NW-A35/45 walkman

My kindle won't show custom screensavers anymore

I did a jailbreak using winterbreak, then I used kindleforge to disable adds, the sleep screen setting then began showing in koreader. It worked for like two days. I think it messed up when connecting to wifi. I've tried rebooting, and reinstalling the ads toggle thing

Ahhhh this is so exciting. Now just need to get the hang of using koreader, then import and organise my 300+ ebooks

Is Readest or BookFusion better as a replacement ereader on my phone to sync with koreader on kindle with plug in

Bit overwhelmed with getting the hang of koreader. I have 300+ books scattered between my tablet and two phones which would sync seamlessly in moonreader, even if not stored on each device but want to start using my old kindle...

What is the easiest way to get my books from moonreader/phone/tablet onto my Kindle (I hear I can download books directly on kindle with bookfusion plugin, or should I just try to figure calibre out)?

And what's the best plugin to sync everything and save highlights between devices (bookfusion versus readest, which will still allow access to prior highlights if i cancel subscription)?

Also would love if anyone could suggest a good general guide, or tutorial for koreader customisation on kindle

How can I get all my books from an ereader app (moonreader) onto my now jailbroken Kindle?

I gave up on using my kindle years ago till hearing about jailbreaking and koreader. In those years I mostly thrifted physical books, and used moonreader which syncs my reading progress and annotations between devices.

How can I get all my accumulated ebooks onto my Kindle in the most straightforward way possible?

And is there some way to get all the reading progress, notes and highlights on there too? (I think they're embedded into the books within the app).

Also, is it possible to download koreader on other devices so it syncs between them, so I can use it the way i was using moonreader?

thinking of adopting a bengal who's partial sighted and missing an eye. Never had a bengal before

I'm quite nervous, although I'm very experienced and comfortable with cats, never adopted from a shelter before, never been around bengals, or partially sighted cats. This 1yr old boy also doesn't get along with other cats, though they say he's okay with dogs. Which sounds ideal because I wanted to adopt a dog in the near future too. I'm just concerned reading about bengals being super high energy because I live in a one bedroom flat and the ceilings aren't that high for cat climbing stuff

Where can I find necklaces like this? (enroute quality is awful)

I loveeee gemstone, slightly old worldly/baroque style pieces.

I'm on a budget so it would have to be gold plated, sterling silver or steel, but enroute feels too low quality because it's brass underneath, even the silver ones are plated and it wears off soooo quickly.

(Ideally UK based)

Is under 2 hour battery life with light usage normal for 76% capacity on P1 gen 4

I bought this refurbished and the battery life is absolutely horrendous. I've checked out graphics settings, if gpu is being unnecessarily used, updates, etc. and there's no anomalies. I've been using it at 50-70% brightness.

I'm not sure if I should try anything else, return it, or maybe ask for a partial refund to replace the battery (if the physical battery is the culprit).

The full specs are Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 i7 11850 1.5TB SSD 32GB RTX A2000 16" 4K UHD Win 11.

The Wailing

I can't remember watching a film and having my expectations diverted as many times as this. Usually I'm able to predict stuff pretty early on. This one had me second guessing my own instincts and empathising with everyone.. a rollercoaster of emotions.

I love folk horror but wasnt expecting zombies?! Shamanism? Christianity? Creepy children? Folklore? Gorgeous visuals? A commentary on faith? Humour? This managed to cram it all in without it feeling utterly disjointed. It was definitely a slow burn teetering on boredom at the start, but that pacing really heightened the climax. Still, I can imagine many might find this film jarring because there was some purposefully choppy editing, but it was nowhere near arbitrary.

I loved the way it reminded me not to take things at face value

Edit: I'm still perplexed about the old man. I think he only appeared as the devil to feed into the young priests fear, and give form to the nature of evil in a way that is most visceral to him. Also still think the old man was a mere vessel for evil, rather than evil incarnate. Probably need to rewatch

Battery drain on refurb thinkpad P1 Gen 4 despite 97% battery health

So disappointed and hoping there's a simple solution. The laptop arrived today and everything is working, the battery cycle count is 207 and is at 97% health. But the rapid battery drain is crazy at 60% drain after an hour. The brightness was on between 60-75% while watching a ytube video, halfway through I even put energy saver on..

So far I've checked CPU, GPU usage, did updates, and everything is normal. I would appreciate some advice

Dell Precision 5570 versus Lenovo ThinkPad P1 gen 4

Both are 32gb ram, 1tb storage, i7, and excellent condition. Both 4k resolution.

The dell is £620. The lenovo is £560.

Which is better for longevity and durability?

thinking of getting a refurb precision 5570 but it seems like overkill for my needs

I really want to avoid consumer grade laptops because I hate tech waste, and don't want to have to replace it in the next few years. It seems that dell latitudes and lenova thinkpads would be ideal for that reason. They're also very affordable. BUT I also want to download and watch movies on it, so would appreciate a good screen. Mostly I'll be using it for writing, calibre, light editing, and storage. A workstation laptop i think compromises between those needs.

The dell precision has a great touchscreen, is 32gb ram, 1tb storage, excellent condition and costs £600 which is more than I've ever spent on tech. Will it last and be repairable in the coming years? I'm also concerned about overheating.

Any other suggestions welcome

Any advice on whether to buy an SSD or a refurbished laptop?

So technology is not my forte, and whenever I've bought something in the past, I end up regretting it. Like my current laptop which is mind numbingly slow. I've tried to clean it up but it's only 4gb ram. Would an SSD help? Or should I just replace it? It's like 5 years old now.

I want to spend as little as possible on something that is still functional. I'll mostly be using it for word processing, storage, applications like calibre, and zoom meetings. I tend to multi-task a lot, but no gaming.

I had my eye on this: Samsung i5-10210U/8GB Ram/512GB SSD.

Would 8GB be enough? I'm gravitating toward Samsung solely because I have a Samsung phone, and want Samsung note to sync with it, but I heard there's ways around that on Windows too.

All of my conflicting desires and ideals make me feel hopeless.

I'm not into bdsm, personally I'm uncomfortable that an acronym with sexual connotations shares a sentence with the word community. To me sex is a sacred and private matter. I guess you could call me a prude. However, there's also this other side to me that has always felt underwhelmed, unfulfilled and numb during intimacy. Possibly due to past trauma. But then I began to realise that crossing a line, pain, impact, or some kind of psychological impact, such as being spoken down to, or told what to do, switches something on and makes it feel enjoyable. Some years ago, I tried to explore it, but found that outside of emotional intimacy, and the reservation and restraint i expect from dating, it felt wrong and off-putting. Like it has to seem taboo, and not something contrived and central to the connection. A part of me also finds the prospect of a power dynamic, not just within sex but mundane facets of a relationship, highly appealing. And I imagine somewhat healing. I don't know what my deal is, or how to navigate any of this. How could I possibly find someone compatible, considering my aversion to bdsm?

(Sorry if this is a lttle incoherent, it's 3am).

Since phones limited SD slots, I stopped downloading music and began streaming but sick of it now

Does anyone have suggestions? I considered buying an mp3 player but they all seem clunky and unreliable unless very expensive and "vintage". Or maybe there's a way to squeeze in my library onto my phone by compressing the files
