Glimmerglass 1 vs 1/4
Which is better for installing and forgetting? Always used just a UV Filter but I want to switch things up a bit. Don't want to think about it and want to always have it installed. Will the GG 1 be too much?

Today the lottery for AL opened for sep 1 hikes. I selected Sep 9 till 11 but for some reasons the lottery always switches to sep 8 - sep 10.
Can anyone tell me what I do wrong?
I do the Norwegian 4x4 protocol once or twice per week and whoop struggles a lot.
I was wearing
- whoop mg on bicep
- garmin fenix 8 with HRM 800 chest strap
As you can see the intervals are 4 min long and I have a lot of dips with whoops. I often had 180 bpm (according to my cest strap) while whoops had me at like 150
Both have the zones set the same so Z4 starts at 164. with garmin I had total of 14 min and 10 sec in Zone 4-5 and whoop only 8 min. This really sucks because then whoop is going after me to increase my Zone 4-5 work for healthspan.
Why just why can’t we connect the whoop to a chest strap? It would make everything so much easier.
Did a post yesterday but had a few mistakes so I deleted it.
Basically I went to my doctor and he did an ultrasound but only found about 5mm fat on my nipples. Now some say ultrasound is not reliable. He carefully checked and even pinched and couldn't find something.
I have puffy nipples since like 15-16 (maybe longer but hard to tell on old pics in cloths). My father, brother and uncle have the same "problem".
Now I'm at 18-20% body fat I still hope it may get better when I cut down to 12-15%. I just want that it's not visible when wearing a shirt and the sun is shining directly at me.
I have an appointment with a gyno surgeon in late september. Don't really want a surgery but this gives me time to cut down and decide after my vacation. I love doing sports and could not imagine to have to pause that for a couple of weeks. Also I know there will be a lot of discussion with my parents, gf etc (yes I have to decide that but for them (or for everyone) it's not really noticeable) and also like paying 4-7k seems much. Had one surgery when I was like 12 and it was the worst couple of weeks of my life.
Now my question. When you can't really trust ultrasound how does a doctor know it's actually gyno? it's 5mm of fat/gland. Even when it's 50:50 if i reduce it like 2-3 mm it would probably not be a big deal.
I have puffy nipples and my only issue is that it pokes through my shirt which bothers me.
Now I have an appointment with a gyno doc in October but today I went to my normal doctor for stuff and I asked him to do an ultrasound on my chest. He said he only found muscle and about 5 mm of fat but no tissue.
He also said that because my brother, father and uncle have the same issue he thinks that’s just pseudo gyno. Currently sitting at 18-20% body fat and plan to cut to 12-14%. I also don’t feel anything when I pinch my nipples
Probably have pseudo gyno as my doctor couldn’t find/feel a gland however I have puff nipples in warm weather.
It’s not much but you can see it through my shirt. My girlfriend finds that I’m way overreacting and it doesn’t look bad and says I’m stupid for even considering operation.
I‘m around 19-20% BF and planning to go down to 12-14% to see if that helps a bit. Every time I see a mirror I’m checking if my nipples are visible which kinda frustrates me.
Don’t need 360 view when I’m inside my car and have the x5 mounted to my windshield
We have a good sale atm and can get the H13 for 295€ vs the M1P for 699 €.
In current footage I prefer the H13 but I don't know if GoPro will adjusts things in the future. I would like to do timelapse with the GoPro (like Thunderstorms, inside my car or maybe even at night of the Milky way) (I have an upcoming road trip in september where I will be at several NP's like Zion etc) For everything else I have a insta360 x5 which is basically my road biking / travel cam
Was wondering if the 1 inch sensor would be way better for that.
Are you happy that you made the switch?
Is it possible to edit single lense raw pics from the x5 on my iPad? I ask because I tried it on my Mac and I first have to load it into the insta360 desktop app otherwise I have this fish eye lense look and then I can import the photo into Lightroom.
When I open the insta360 app on my iPad it looks like it just imports the JPG version but not the raw one
I know the mission 1 released yesterday but not really sold on it. Watched couple of videos and most of the time I preferred the H13 image. I don’t really want to edit my videos so I thought the H13 will be better especially as the M1P looks way bigger than the H13
Is it just me or does the straight of camera footages of the Hero 13 looks better than the M1P ones?
I may be a bit biased as I've been wearing a whoop since 2022 so keep that in mind.
The band itself feels really light and comfortable. In the morning i'm quite happy to remove the whoop and put it on the bicep for my workouts but with the Air I don't need to do it.
But a few things that bother me.
- I'm used to the whoop style and therefore I don't really like the band design. It's personal preference but it looks cheap imo (well it's 99€ i get it)
- the app is horrible compared to whoop. I may get downvoted for that but as an iPhone user it looks so like android which again makes sense as it's google but I don't like it. Whoop looks really cool
- the app doesn't have a stress feature. This is especially useful on whoop as i can see if I get sick or something else does stress me. Also when it's quite high in the evening I know I have trouble to fall asleep
- the auto detection is so off for me. First I use a fenix 8 for all my workouts. After the workout whoop automatically imports start and end time of my workout so I don't have to rely on auto detection (whoop especially struggles with weight training) but the Air doesn't import that.
It also struggles with detecting weight training but that's to be expected. However I did a 75 min bike ride yesterday (138 avg bpm according to my chest strap) and even after 5h google didn't detect a workout. I then manually logged it (it's also stupid that you can set the start time but no end time , just duration) but I get no HR chart and I don't know my avg bpm to compare accuracy. Also did 15 min of rowing and it didn't detect it.
- For some reasons my RHR is like 10 bpm higher than whoop and garmin
- same applies for HRV. Air says 33 ms while whoop and garmin are around 50
As I train in the morning and most of the time in the evening as well (morning gym, evening cardio) whoop will probably fit me better. 14 days of battery is also a huge win. I hope google will improve on some stuff, my subscription will run till november so enough time to catch up.
For the avarage guy this seems to be a good device. A lot of my friends asked me about the whoop but I told them mostly it isn't worth for them (they don't train as much). The fitbit makes so much sense for them.
Did my morning strength training today with my Fenix 8 (+ Chest strap), Whoop on Bicep and Air on my wrist.
Chest strap: Avg106 bpm , max 144 bpm
Whoop: Avg 98 bpm, max 142 bpm
Air: Avg 110, max 139 bpm
My main issues with the Air:
It didn't detect the whole workout. My workout was from 5:52 am to 6:52 am. Air detected from 6:23 to 6:52 am. While whoop is the same it pulls start and end time from my fenix 8. So as long as I start and end my workout on my fenix 8 whoop uses this info. Doesnt work on the fitbit air
And the Main issue is: I got 0 cardio load while lifting. It's the same as whoop before they introduced strength trainer. Whoop gives at least credit for doing strength. Air did not.
After my strength workout I did 7 min rowing and the Air didn't detect it. I manually logged it but now I only get the HR Zone Chart but I can't see the HR graph + what my HR was.
While the Air is really comfortable I'm not really happy with it right now compared to whoop.
NOTE: I just wrote Air as whoop blocks post with the brand name in it.
First impression:
Fitbit air is so damn light. Never had issues with whoop but this is in another league. Band is also comfortable but I prefer the superknit.
App is ok - I’m used to whoop so will see how it goes. When you setup Gemini asks you about your goals
