Max Payne 1 PC | RTX4060 | Patched

Max Payne 1 PC | RTX4060 | Patched

What do you guys think of the updates for the Steam version of Max Payne people are making? I was having a hell of a time trying to get the original to run on my newer system with a RTX4060. So patching was the only solution for me. The higher resolution and upscaled textures look good. It doesn't really change any of the gameplay as far as I can tell. I'll probably test out the RTX mod next but for now here is the normal patch I used.

My Childhood Pizza Hut in Ontario, Canada

I have good memories eating here, back in the day and I wanted to archive it. So I figured I'd indulge in my nostalgia and get a nice stuffed crust pizza. The owner is a good guy and I hope it's there for 30 more years, enjoy.

Duke Nukem Does the Internet PDF (1997) Internet Archive

I have been trying to find this book for years! I looked everywhere for it... I should have known it would end up on the Internet Archive :) Duke Nukem Does the Internet is about Duke Nukem himself, telling you how to use the Internet and how to play Duke Nukem 3D (circa 1997).

PC Gamer July 1996 (The Ultimate Gaming Machine)

I recently bought a physical copy of PC Gamer from July 1996 that I have been trying to find for years. I've been to retro gaming conventions, book stores, even looking at online auctions but nothing. Then one night it popped up on eBay! I love this issue because it encapsulates almost everything I love about PC gaming history in general. There is an article about the future importance of video cards and reviews of classics like Duke Nukem 3D.

I posted a pic on YouTube pictures but I don't know how long that feature will last because no one uses it so I figured I should post it on reddit where it would be more appreciated. You can also get it yourself it you want, enjoy!

IKEA Laiva Bookcase Assembly Time-Lapse (Physical media isn't dead yet!)

One of my favorite items from Ikea is the Laiva Bookcase, I have 5 of them around the house. I have a feeling I'll be getting more in the future. The first one I got was over 5 years ago and it's still going strong. Who else has one of these and what is your experience with them?

Quake 2: 1997 vs 2026 RTX

When you feel like playing Quake 2 do you automatically go for the Original, Source-port like Yamagi, Remaster or RTX? With or without Steam? Any edge cases like an old gaming console, Android or Raspberry Pi?

They all have their own pros and cons. The Original Quake 2 is best for running it on an older system and the nostalgia of back in the day. Source-ports are great for compatibility, mods and newer systems. The remaster is a fresh look and is also good for newer systems. The RTX ray tracing update is amazing if you have a fast video card and want to make it look as realistic as possible.

What do you think, do you like the new stuff or do they always change the style too much? Also, what do you like now. Plus, if you could look into the future and see all these ports back in 1997, what would have wowed you the most?

Also, what's the next thing in source-ports you think will get popular? I think augmented reality.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance | Tanker Playthrough (PS2, 2003) By NUKEM6

More then 20 years ago I played Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and loved it. Then forgot about it. Now I went back to it with Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and I love it all over again. The sad part is that our real world is getting ever closer to the fictional world of MGS2...

NES Games in 3D

Makes you wonder how NES games will be played in the future. Before, there was no reason to play NES games with a VR headset but now i can see why this would be fun. I like this method of recreating these games in 3D space because it doesn't change the original gameplay.

R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 | Brightest Nite | Resolution Upscaled HD

Ridge Racer Type 4 was such an amazing game. The style, the music, the vibe of it all. So why did the 5th game suck so bad? Also, any pointers on the final stage of R4 to win? It seems that drifting isn't enough to get first place?

Duke Nukem 3D | eDuke32 + VOXEL (E3L9 Stadium PlayThrough)

Man, do I love the VOXEL mod. It makes DN3D actually look 3D lol! I feel like this adds to the game without taking anything away. Kind of like in Doom, where I'd rather play a source-port that adds the ability to jump and includes full mouse-look, if you know what I mean. The VOXEL mod is a modern upgrade that still feels like the old game, 10/10.

VHS Broadcast Archive from the 90's and early 2000's

A little while ago, I digitized and uploaded my VHS tape. It's from the 90's and early 2000's with shows like The Anti-Gravity Room, Game Spot TV, News, Commercials, and YTV Canada. Mostly stuff about video games and comic books. Back in the day, I used to hate commercials but now I value them more then some of the shows lol.

I digitized it using a USB Dazzle capture card with a S-Video cable coming from a RCA VCR/DVD combo player I got off of FaceBook market place. The original VCR I recorded all these shows with when I was a kid, was a JVC VCR from 1985.

Time has not been kind to the video quality and you have to turn up the sound but that adds a little charm to it. I'm so glad i was able to save this before it fades away. It was a nice little surprise after living my life and forgetting all about it. It was like reaching back in time and saving a little chuck of my childhood. Anyway, enjoy the next 6 hours, just sit back and relax.

Kramer was born in the BACKROOMS!

Some people say that Seinfeld Season 3 Episode 6 'The Parking Garage' was a like the backrooms. This was made with MS Paint and GIMP by the way, no slop.
