Would a second bachelor's in art be a waste of money?

So I had a windfall... I've always thought about going back to school. I'm still a novice at drawing and I'm early 40s if it matters.

It'd be 12 courses (36 credits)... like $25k-30k.

I'm not doing this for career, more as a hobby activity (although I do aspire to eventually sell or get in a museum) :)

I know online courses are far cheaper (I'm working on one by Proko as we speak). I guess it's just funner to be with other students (although I'll be older). Also would get feedback from instructors. Also easier to stick with something if it's school. Lots of benefit to being in school.

Another option is continuing ed for adults but I think I'm more of a serious student.

Not sure if I should do this or aim for a master's (already have bachelors)

Thanks

Go on sabbatical?

One of my hobbies is really picking up (art) and I want to see how far I can go with it.

What types of things should you run? What's going through your head.

I just want to make sure I check all the checkboxes. Like how planned out should this be?

40 if that matters. Going back to work will not be a problem because I work as a deli slicer.

EDIT:

not sure why I work its complicated. I end up saving the majority of the income I get from the PT job.

Minimum amount of hours/days to work?

As far as I can tell, work is going good. No problems with management, I am good at my job and get a long with my coworkers. (this is deli)

Thing is, I'd like to drastically take down my hours. I am focusing on school.

Does stop and shop have people that work 1-2 days a week? How about hours?

Do cashiers sit in California?

Do cashiers sit in California now?

What art-related activities can you do when you're tired?

I work as a deli slicer working nights at a grocery store. I have a good chunk of free time at the beginning of the day but I find that my concentration runs out of steam within a few hours.

I'm doing Proko's drawing fundamentals course. I also do pen control exercises.

Is there other things I can do?

Do cashiers at Walmart in California sit down?

A couple years ago there was a big lawsuit where Walmart agreed to provide seating to any employee that requested it.

I was just wondering if cashiers in California sit down (which they should!). Here in Boston pretty much every cashier stands up unless its a small business or at ALDI.

How long of a stay to still be eligible for rehire?

I want to quit so I can focus on school. I'm pretty sure I'm doing a good job. How long of a stay is needed so I'd still be eligible for rehire? I like the job, just gotta focus on school.

EDIT: I've only been there two months. I'm worried if I quit now it'll look bad. Should I stay til 6 months?

How the hell do you do art for 8 hours a day?

Today I researched pen control exercises and did a bunch . I was planning on doing 5 pages each of the three exercises but had to leave halfway through because of exhaustion.

I used a timer to track how long I did it. I stopped it when I went to bathroom or got another drink.Just an hour! I was planning on doing a video course later but might not.

Another thread a lot of people were doing art 6-8 hours a day. I’m taking art more seriously now and want to know how to do this.

New mortgage servicer can't find my mortgager?

So I got a letter in the mail from my old mortgage servicer that they are no longer doing my mortgage. It's changing to a new one Aug 1.

It's already Aug 5. The ACH withdrawal didn't go through. I gave the new servicer a call and they can't find the mortgage. The customer service rep said to wait til Monday.

Unfortunately this is a commercial mortgage so I don't get a 60 day grace period.

Has this happend to anyone before? Any advice?

EDIT: Loan number came through. Solved.

What's it like to transfer to a tourist location for the summer?

I work at a stop and shop and was thinking it would be cool to work in Martha's Vineyard for the summer. What's it like?

What do you think of working in a variety of industries?

Say instead of working a single job for a decade or more, work in a job and switch after a year or so.

There are a number of industries I was thinking of trying:

hotel
prep cook
movie theatre
uber driver
TSA
lawncare

I'm thinking trying new things would bring perspective and keep things fresh.

I remember in my old financial processing job (where although the work was easy, there was little thinking involved and everyday seemed the same) when my old boss left she said 5 years just flew by.

Does this make sense to anyone or do I not have my head screwed on straight. Should I just try to find a cushy job and focus on hobbies?

EDIT: I know these don't pay well. Technically I could be full FI if I wanted to. I just have to have a part time job to cover some lifestyle creep. It's also lowered my SWR from 4% to 3.5%/

"What do you do?" - "I'm an artist"

I've met people who said they were writers but for income worked in a restaurant.

Do you say you're an artist when someone asks what you do?

At what level of achievement or how many years of work did it take to give you the confidence to start telling people that?

What are people's responses?

Why is it bad to be forthright with women in regards to your standard of living?

I've posted here in the past and people here say you should let your actions speak for you and let over time let a women discover how well your standard of living is. Like don't tell how much you make, let her watch how you live your life (things you do).

But the thing is, with most jobs out there you can google how much they make.

I'm self employed and own a rental property and I just wanna tell them outright I don't travel much and I drive a car from 2008, I live with roommates, I live frugally on the first date.

Is that the wrong move?

Drawing from reference in a cafe

Let’s say I’m drawing from reference a movie poster.

I’m doing it in a cafe.

Is it worth going through the trouble of printing it out?

Or do you guys just have it on your laptop or iPad?
