Pullups: How to get better?

Feel like I’m messing something up, can’t put a finger down on what it is. Stuck on this number for a month, and form isn’t the best. How to improve?

21M first-job in CA, USA. Seeking Investment Strategy Review

Hey all, I’m 21, and I graduated from college in May. I started my first job in San Francisco, California last month where I’m getting paid a base salary of $120,000. My post-tax take-home income is around $84,000.

My biggest expense right now is rent ($3000/month). I get 3 meals a day in the office, so I’m only paying for food/groceries on the weekends. All in, my estimated spend on “needs” is around $3500/month. I have no outstanding debt/other monetary commitments.

Right now, my investment strategy (in order of priority) is as follows:

  1. Invest 10% of my pre-tax salary every month in a traditional 401k.
  2. - That’s $1000/month or $12,000/year
  3. - My employer provides a 3% match
  4. - So, all in $15,600 in 401k
  5. Invest 20% of my pre-tax salary every month in SGOV (Individual Brokerage Account on Schwab)
  6. - That’s $2000/month or $24,000/year
  7. - I will keep investing in SGOV until I have an emergency fund of $24,000 or more (so until the end of this year).
  8. - I chose SGOV over a HYSA because of CA state tax benefits.
  9. Invest the remainder in index funds (currently all in VOO on Schwab)
  10. - Around $500/month or $6000/ year

My question is, is this a good enough/near-optimal plan for someone like me? I have also looked into Roth: both the 401k and the IRA, but I’m not sure what to replace/how to incorporate them in my current investment strategy.

I should also mention that I’m not a US citizen, and there is a 50-50 chance I end up leaving the US sometime in the future. Although I am, for sure, staying here for at least 5 years.

Appreciate all the help, and happy to answer any follow-ups!! Thanks y’all!

What BF% is this?

5’8 | 135lbs | Been working out for 11 months now.

What body % (specific or range) is this? In the first 2 pics, I’m fasted, no pump, took a pic first thing after waking up.

Next set of pictures are post-pump with pretty good lighting.

Should I cut more before bulking back up? Thanks!

Hotel Breakfast Calories

How many calories is this breakfast you guys? Both pastries are the size of my middle finger in length, and my index finger in breadth.

The first one has spinach and a little bit of white meat inside. The second one has semi-solid chocolate interior. Decent amount of glaze on both. Leaves residue on my fingers.

First time doing Cable Flys

Hello all, I have been lifting <1 year, and am suffering with a chest that’s unwilling to grow. I have overdeveloped shoulders to the point that I can OHP more than I can bench. My chest looks small, flat, and I never feel it working.

After having struggled with the pec deck fly machine (I tried every fix possible, retraction, height, grips, you name it, but could not feel my chest), I have decided to switch over to cable flys. This is my first time doing these, how do they look, and how do I grow this stubborn muscle!? My program includes 2 other chest movements: an incline smith machine press (30 deg angle) and chest-focused weighted dips.

Thanks you!

Newbie Lifter: Lat Pulldown Form Check

Got a lot of constructive feedback on my last post (https://www.reddit.com/r/formcheck/s/Ln2MUu6taS).

Many of you recommended switching to a slightly wider grip. I’m mainly struggling with back width, my back thickness, especially upper back thickness, is quite decent. But width is severely lacking. Is this good form/grip/exercise for getting my lats wider? Has the form improved at all from the last vid?

I can share the rest of my program too if that helps.

Thank you!

I Calculated Kratos's TRUE Deadlift Max And It's INSANE

Hi all, was really curious about this question since we keep debating Kratos' numbers. Would love to hear your thoughts on this video. Took a lot of effort and research to make, but glad to hear and improve on anything I got wrong/missed!

Have a blessed day!

Need Feedback on my Thumbnail

Hi, I am a gaming channel that primarily does God of War-related videos. I typically do shorts, but tapping into long-form content now.

Came up with this interesting idea for a video, but I'm not sure the thumbnail's doing its job. Given the title, does the thumbnail stir any intrigue in you, or is it too generic/slop-like? If you are into GoW stuff, you are very welcome to watch the video and offer me feedback too.

Heaviest thing Kratos has Lifted

Only thing I can think of is the Temple of Tyr (estimated 1.7mil tons), is there anything heavier?

Potential Viral Short?

Hello all, I am a very, very new creator (less than a week old channel). I have posted about 5 shorts so far and this one has gotten 15k views in the last 3-4 days. VVSA is steadily increasing, and retention has been constant around 90% for a 48-second short (data in screenshots). A lot of you are experts in data analysis, looking at this so far, can we expect this short to go the distance?

Thank you very much and good luck with your YouTube journeys <3

Disclaimer: This is absolutely not a flex post, I am very happy with progress so far, but I am making a post to understand numbers better. Please, please do not remove this post.

New weapons/abilities in GoW: Laufey

What new weapons/artifacts/abilities might we see/you want to see in Laufey? Both according to the mythology and game-lore?

Quick disclaimer: I’m collecting input from GoW fans for a new YT video I’m working on. So please know that your input will be very helpful to me:) I will be crediting this sub as a whole in the video description. @Mods I hope this is okay?

Thank you!

Hammer curls on preacher curl machine?

If I do my hammer curls on the preacher bench holding the highlighted handles, does it target the same muscles that a dumbbell hammer curl or rope cable hammer curl does? I’m trying to bias my brachialis and brachioradialis.
