I just want to know if anyone here has created an alphabet or writing system for their native language if it doesn’t already have a written form
I’m from Syria, and I speak an Arabic dialect as well as my native tongue. I code-switch between them depending on the context. With my family, I speak my native language, but with others I try to use a more standard version so they can understand me
My dialect is very different, and it’s hard for me to write it using the Arabic writing system. For example, Arabic has only three vowels, but my language has many more. Arabic also has 28 consonants, while mine has more than that. These sounds can change meaning, so they really matter
Because of this, I created an alphabet for it. I just want to know if anyone else has been in a similar situation first because I’m curious, and second because I’d like to see how they approached it and compare it to mine
Edit: I realized my wording might make people think my native language isn’t related to Arabic. From what I know, it’s more like a daughter language or a variety of Arabic not a completely separate language from a different family language
