Yesterday I posted art of vitiligo on one of my characters, and deleted it out of embarassment

Is this any better? Apologies for the awkwardness yesterday, I did some more study and tried it again. Is this any better? Promise I won't take it down this time

Superhero representation of autism/tourettes

This has been kinda tic(hardee har)king me off as of late so I thought I'd talk about it here

I'm autistic and have Tourettes'. I'm developing a comic series featuring superheroes of my own creation, where representation of certain marginlised groups has been a focus of mine, and I don't mean just ethnicity or sexuality wise. Those are welcome, but I'm focused on folk with visual burn scarring, and conditions like vitiligo. Of course, it's not their central personality, which is what brings me to my point.

I've been brainstorming potential ways to represent Tourettes' in a character, and I found myself looking for inspiration...only to be met by zingers like "Twitcha" and "T-Man & Hyperstrike". The art seems to be pretty good, and that's not what I'm focused on.

Seriously. A superhero with Tourettes' is named "Twitcha"? Are you serious? That's like if Professor X became paralysed and took on the name Professor Cripplegs.

T-Man & Hyperstrike is better but also not really. T(ourettes')-Man and Hyper(haha ADHD)-Strike? It's agregiously on the nose.

My main point boils down to the fact that there are little to no notable characters with these characteristics/disabilities because when it does happen, it becomes their identity. It's an extension of "your disability is a superability" which is a sentiment I absolutely loathe.

Hopefully not all of this has been deranged ramblings and that it resonated with someone who thinks this is sort of odd, regardless of well intentions from the creators. Thank you

I'm a comic book artist and I'm experimenting with a character I plan to portray as someone with vitiligo, how is this?

I think vitiligo is gorgeous and thought to try applying it to a planned character for a book I'm making.

I understand there are some sharp edges in some patches and I plan on smoothening them out a bit. Obviously, it wouldn't be her entire personality, but does this look okay to you? And would anyone be offended by a crude portrayal of it?

Thank you.

Hello! Severe apologies for the 6-month wait...issue #9 turned out to be 38 pages! Unfortunately it can't all be posted here due to Reddit's image limit, so if you'd like to read the rest, you can do so for free on the comic's Webtoon page!

Batman/Dexter will run for one more issue, which takes place ten years after issue #9's ending! I'm excited to begin work on it, and I'm especially excited to hear what you all think! Thank you all for your patience :]

Pinterest is great for inspo but holy fucking shit, it works like an armless guy. Like shit.

First off, ads. They're fucking everywhere. I get ads for completely unrelated things trying to get me to buy some shit off AliExpress. And they're on every 2 to 3 results.

Secondly, THE SHARE POPUP TAB. Any fucking time I save a pin to one of my boards or download an image it brings up a tab of people to share it with, so when I'm scrolling, all of a sudden I've just sent Steven Universe fanart to some fucking dude.

Thirdly, the auto-refresh. I could be JUST OPENING THE FUCKING APP, having just saved an image, or are just scrolling, the app decides to refresh. Fucking perfect.

And last but not least video downloads. Or lack thereof. Why are they just not downloadable? What fucking sense is that?

I want every single developer that so much as wrote a line of code for thos godforsaken app to boil in a vat of acid.

FIX. YOUR SHIT.
