Is it possible to experience hyperacusis to just certain tones / frequencies?

My partner has a very sharp "s" sound that is high pitched and lately I've been hearing it VERY loud compared to usual. And instead of other noise making it better it's like other noise makes it worse (almost like other noise makes my ears "turn up the gain" to be able to hear my partner over the other noise.

Is this hyperacusis or something else?
Was thinking misophonia but that wouldn't explain why it's so much louder than it used to be.

With oil prices thru the roof, we're likely to see a lot more wood burning in higher- populated areas this year, compared to usual. And people who haven't burned wood before.

If you choose to burn wood, especially if you have neighbors close to your house, remember that burning it improperly/letting it smolder instead of keeping a hot fire/ burning wet wood makes a lot of smoke outside which inevitably gets into your neighbors houses (and yours). It's not good to breathe, even if you like the smell. For folks with asthma / COPD/ older folks / small children it's even worse. And don't be that person who burns chemically treated wood / particleboard/ junk etc for obvious reasons.

Let's all not freeze this upcoming winter, while also not harming yourself and others.

I got the Saatva Classic in Luxury Firm about a month ago. It's been a bad experience for me. I slept on a BeautyRest firm with a pillow top for 12 years prior. Based on my weight (180 pounds) it should be the right one for me per their specs, but from day 1 it's felt too firm. And also like the middle of the bed is pushing my lower back upward creating a feeling like I'm bending backwards. Even though I'm an average size, I have a larger than normal rear end from doing a lot of squats and need to sink in more to be supported vs pushed up. I wake up in pain almost every day and have started having lower back issues during the day too.

My question -
I'm thinking about trying the plush version with their exchange program. I know they're going to try to throw a foam topper at me before they do an exchange. Is the topper a good idea or should I just go with the full exchange? Have people who switched from luxury firm to plush been happy with the switch?

I have the 12K U, purchased this past summer so after the recall was 'fixed'. I have it angled down with the drain plugs removed entirely. I run it on fan for a few minutes when I'm done cooling. I've only been using it for several months.

And I have an absolute shit-ton of mold.

Not a little bit. A ton. There are big white fuzzy spores stuck to the metal grating where the air comes out of back into the room - which is crazy because that grating is tiny and spaced out so most of that mold went right into the room. The blower wheel is absolutely covered in it, too.

This POS is going back to Costco asap.

I know all ACs create mold eventually but nothing does it as quickly or efficiently as the Midda U - even after the recall.

A year ago my Fibroscan showed a CAP of 275 and a kPa of 4.8.

This year my Fibroscan shows a CAP of 375 and a kPa of 4.9.

I haven't drank any alcohol AT ALL for the last year. None.

Im not in as good of shape now as last year but my weight is within 10 pounds of last year. I'm not obese.

Can gaining 10 pounds really make your CAP score go up that much? I'm an average weight person. I'm not obese and I don't have a high BMI.

Does abstaining from alcohol really do a whole bunch of nothing? I have nonalcoholic fatty liver but I figured giving up the alcohol entirely would at least help?

I've had BFS for over 20 years so not much surprises me anymore, but for the past few days my thigh has been rhythmically "buzzing" over and over in 2-3 second intervals. It doesn't have the "randomness" of twitching, it's over and over at the same cadence, and feels like a silent cell phone vibrating.

Is this likely BFS related?

I cannot get SupportAssist to check for driver updates. It never works. It's hard to uninstall. It never reinstalls. It's a POS.

But is there any other option for scanning your system for updated drivers etc? I feel like I used to be able to do it online, but now the button just prompts me to download SupportAssist, so I'm stuck in a loop.

If so, please, please change the driver's seat to be 10-way instead of 8 way, at least in the highest trims like Lariat.

It's criminal that a $40K+ Lariat Maverick doesn't have a seat bottom tilt adjustment, beyond the slight tilt change when you raise and lower the seat. Even at all the way up high, the seat bottom is tilted back.

I've owned cars since the late 80s with seat bottom tilt adjustments.

Do better Ford. It's literally the only reason I'm not buying a Maverick (yet).

I just hooked up a new tank to my grill and when I get really close to the regulator with the tank valve open, I can smell a slight propane smell that seems like it's from the regulator. Not a lot of smell though, slight.

I tried the soapy bubble test on the regulator, all the connections, the hose etc., no bubbles. But I can still smell a little propane if I get close.

Is this normal operation for the regulator? Or do I likely have a leak and / or bad regulator? Thanks

I'll start by saying I've had BFS for over 20 years so I'm not new to it or worried about the bad stuff.

But I got my TDap booster a couple days ago and since then the twitching has gone from an occasional hotspot before with many days twitch-free, to body-wide non-stop hotspots now. Both foot arches/ankles, left hip area, right quad, left pointer finger, both forearms...all at the same time. Hard to sleep.

It's also interesting that the last flu/COVID vaccine I got resulted in 6 months of nonstop eyelid twitching to where I was considering Botox.

I really hope this gets better and I haven't shot myself in the foot...pun intended..

I have brand new BF Goodrich Advantage Controls. Mounted five days ago.

Every morning when I take the car out, it's super bumpy and then smooths out after a few miles. No problems with inflation. It doesn't get cold overnight.

Is it normal for new tires to be flat-spotting like that? Or would it indicate something wrong with one of the tires?

2016 Chrysler 300

I'm having freshly powdercoated wheels mounted today but it's raining like crazy since yesterday. My car has been outside with the wheels off, on jacks, so my wheel hubs are wet. The guys doing the mounting today said that doesn't really matter. I'm not so sure.

Does it matter if they don't dry the wheel hubs off?

How effective is dentistry for fixing speech issues - specifically a high pitched shrill whistling S sound? Is cosmetic dentistry needed for that?
