Hi everyone! I've just released the demo for XENOFLEKT, a roguelite space shooter with parry mechanics. You can parry enemy bullets by dashing into them: it heals your ship and converts bullets into devastating counter-attacks.

Plug-in Satellites between one wave and the other to adapt mid-run with modules that redefine your dashes and deflects, improve your movement and your weapons, strengthen your defense, or unlock unique gameplay perks.

The demo features the first sector of the game, various ships, weapons and satellites, and should feature a good amount of gameplay!

Steam Deck support - native Linux build or Windows through Proton?

Hi everyone, I'm working on a game in Godot 4.x, and as you know, it supports native Linux exports. I already have controller support in place, so I plan on having Steam Deck verification at release.

However, I've already tested my game build on Deck by running the windows .exe through Proton 9, and it runs and controls flawlessly already with the Windows build. So, I was wondering if the Linux native build is needed for Deck verification, or the Proton compatibility is the way to go.

For who already did it: do you need the Linux native build to get Steam Deck verification, or is the compatibility through Windows enough? How does it work on the Steamworks end? Thanks!

GPUParticles2D and web builds freezes

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a demo web build for a game made in Godot 4.6.x.

However, in the past, I've made a web game for a Game Jam in Godot 4.3, and I remember it used to have heavy freezes / seconds-long stucks whenever a GPUParticles2D node was rendered the first time on screen.

In that case, I quickly crash landed a fix by converting all GPUParticles2D into CPUParticles2D, but I can't really do that now (too deep into development).

I just wanted to ask if this is still an issue (Godot 4.6+) and, in that case, if there are mitigation strategies and best-practices.

Hi! I've just launched the Steam Page for my upcoming roguelite space shooter: XENOFLEKT.

XENOFLEKT is a roguelite space arena shooter where every successful deflected shot heals your ship and converts enemy projectiles into a lethal counter-attack: high risk parries, high reward.

In the Hangar, it will be possible to unlock persistent shipsweapons and pluggable satellites with void shards gained during runs.
