SSX Tricky - Is it the best snowboarding video game?

SSX Tricky - Is it the best snowboarding video game?

Who here remembers playing SSX Tricky? I played the hell out of this game growing up. I had this game on the PS2 (still own my childhood copy), but it also came out for the Xbox, GameCube and even the Game Boy Advance. It's the second game in the series and my personal favorite out of them all.

I remember faking being sick once, so that I could stay home from school and play it. What is your favorite memory surrounding SSX Tricky?

Who remembers Code Monkeys? It aired for two seasons on G4TV back in 2007-2008

Who here remembers this show? I remember watching it back on G4TV back when G4TV was a thing. I remember specifically watching it because I liked the pixel art style, and I remember it being kind of funny for the time.

For those who don't know, or remember, It's an adult animated comedy set in the 80s about two video game developers. It only lasted two seasons that aired in 2007 and 2008.

Are there any fans of this show here? Or any fans of G4TV?

Do you prefer to collect the original releases (black label) over the greatest hits releases? Or do you collect both?

When it comes to collecting PS1 games, do you mostly collect the original releases (black label) or, do you also buy the greatest hits versions? It doesn't really matter to me, I buy whichever version I can find. If I can find the black label release I will go for that usually, but otherwise it doesn't really matter which version I get.

Does anyone here collect both the original and GH versions? I don't know if it's true, but I heard some GH releases included fixes/updates. If so, for some games the GH version may be the better option.

Is E4L Worth It?

My dog's been having recurring digestive issues for about a year now. I've takenn him to the vet, and we've rules out anything serious. He just seems to have a sensitive system. Every few weeks, he gets loose stools. It lasts about a day usually, and then it's over again for a while.

I want to add a prebiotic/probiotic. I've been looking for something all-natural. does anyone know if E4L is worth it? It looks pretty good, no fillers or synthetics. But it also seems to be a fairly new brand, so iam not seeing a ton of info or reviews.

Best way to revive my Creative Zen Vision M? - Dead battery and bad screen

I am looking to revive my Creative Zen Vision M 30GB MP3 player. It was my first "good" mp3 player growing up, and I would like to get it back to working order. Currently it's dead. The battery will not take a charge, though I can connect it, as the button on the top blinks blue, but that's all it does. The screen will light up a little too.

When it was working though, the only other issue was the broken screen, or dying screen. At one point the screen just started to go white. I could still see what I was doing, but watching videos was pointless. The screen kinda looked like an old CRT tv with static.

What are some things I can do to revive it? I know I need to install a new battery, a new screen, and some other things. I kind of want to install a different kind of storage and replace the front panel as it's in rough shape. What kind of storage should I upgrade to? Any other suggestions or anything I should consider?

Also, how much do you think it could cost to upgrade it? Years back I was looking at screen replacements, but didn't want to risk opening it. I imagine parts are going to be more expensive these days.

Movies similar to The Raid (2011), with lots of action and good fight choreography. Looking for suggestions.

I am a big fan of the Raid movies and movies with non-stop action and good fight choreography. I originally saw The Raid without knowing much about it, but, it fast became one of my all time favorite movies. The Raid 2 is up there as well, but I always come back to the first.

What are some other movies you'd suggest that has good action and choreography like The Raid? I like a lot of what Jackie Chan has done, along with Donnie Yen. I also really like the John Wick movies. Anything where choreography is taken seriously.

I'm open to just about any suggestions.

What were your favorite prizes obtained from a cereal?

Growing up I loved getting the free stuff in cereal boxes, or any food that did it. I remember getting those Lion King color changing spoons, the Batmobile toy, and quite a few free PC demos and games. I want to say I got something Flintstone related, but forget what. I remember getting something themed around Rugrats too, but not sure if it's the same items in the image. Though they do look very familiar to me.

So, what were your favorite items that you got for free from a popular cereal brand, or any food product?

Set It Off (1996)

Who here has watched Set it Off (1996)? It's a crime drama about a group of women who decide to commit a string of bank robberies after a series of events that change their lives. It was directed by F Gary Gray and stars Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox, and Kimberly Elise.

It's one of those movies I watched a lot growing up, and I think it still holds up today. I'm kind of surprised that it's not more known. I'd go as far to say it's one of my favorite 90s movies. What did you think of it?

Who remembers Steven Seagal's Lightning Bolt Energy Drink?

Do you remember when Steven Seagal released his own energy drink back in the mid 2000s or so? I remember picking up a couple cans of it at a local walmart back in the day. No idea how he got it in walmart of all places, but he did. There was only ever two flavors released, those being Cherry Charge and Asian Experience. There was supposed to be a root beer flavored drink too, but I don't think it ever released, or the walmart I went to never had it. He also sold them on his site and amazon from what I can remember.

I was able to find the last image by using the wayback machine on his site.

Who here actually drank it? I remember it tasting pretty awful, but I was never a fan of energy drinks to begin with. What'd you think of it? I drank both flavors, and I'd probably say Cherry Charge is the more bearable one of the two.

What are your thoughts on Einhander? Who here remembers it?

Einhander was one of the first games I got with my PS1 growing up. I still own the same copy I had growing up. It's definitely a favorite of mine. But, it's also a game I haven't beat yet as it's pretty difficult. I always come back to it, but I rarely come close to beating it. Maybe one of these days I'll finally do it.

Who here has actually completed it? Did it take you a while? What are your favorite memories about Einhander?

Who remembers making/coding their own MySpace profile? What did you like adding to it?

I remember when MySpace blew up in popularity. My friends and I were constantly on it as social media was very new to us. Something I liked about MySpace, was that you could edit your profile layout through HTML. I remember editing the HTML and changing the look and layout of my profile quite often. I of course had to use guides online, but it still felt cool to kind of come up with your own design. I think I even changed the menu buttons, background images, etc. But it's been so long, I don't remember the process so much.

What kind of layout designs did you guys go with for your MySpace back in the day? Did you edit your whole profile? Or did you use a custom layout made by someone else? I remember there were a lot of sites that gave you access to custom made layouts. I think I used some of those and edited the HTML to change it further.

Also, what cool things did you add to your profile with HTML?

Visually stunning movies worth getting in 4K

What are some of the most visually stunning movies worth owning on 4K? I just started collecting 4k movies this year and I have a small collection so far. The most visually stunning movies I currently own is Blade Runner, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and The Shining. I also want to get some classic anime movies like Akira and Perfect Blue on 4K. As I imagine those look beautiful on 4K.

I also really wish there was a US release for The Fall (2006). I see they released it elsewhere on 4K, but not in the US from what I see.

What are some other visually stunning movies worth picking up?

What are the best pro wrestling games on the PS2? What are your favorites?

What would you consider to be the best pro wrestling game on the PS2? And what would be your personal favorites?

I personally believe it's Here Comes the Pain. My all time favorite wrestling game. But, there's also many other SD games, from Just Bring It up to the SD Vs Raw series. I tried my hand at the Fire Pro games as well, but was never great at mastering the controls.

Def Jam Vendetta and Fight For New York are also classics in my book. I didn't play much of WWE All Stars though, but I remember having fun with it.

True Grit (2010) - A great western remake by the Coen Brothers

I truly believe True Grit is one of the best western remakes. I actually watched it before watching the original with John Wayne. I liked both, but might like the newer one more. Does anyone else here prefer the remake to the original? Or is the original the superior movie?

The cool thing is, both movies are on tubi right now. I'd recommend watching both.

What shows do you want to see get a physical release?

What shows do you want to see get a physical release? Maybe it's a show that was only available for streaming? or a show that just never got a physical release?

I'm still waiting for Adult Swim to release a DVD/bluray set of Joe Pera Talks with you. I'd also like to see the show Dave get a physical release. Some others I'd also want to see a physical release for Reservation Dogs, Detroiters, I think you should Leave, and a bunch more. What about you? I know there's probably a lot I'm missing. Especially these days with most shows skipping on physical releases.

Small pickups from last week

I've been picking through my local dollar general for DVDs and blurays whenever I stop in. They don't have much, but I've found a few goodies here and there. This past week I found these two. I'm guessing the Penn & Teller is part of a set. It says the complete second season, but shows vol 2, so I'm going to have to find the other volumes at some point to complete it.

I saw Bitch years ago, but don't remember a whole lot about it. I'm looking forward to giving it a rewatch though.

Have you guys watched either? I've seen some of Penn & Teller growing up, but it was maybe a couple episodes and a couple clips online.

Best home sauna pod?

I'm looking for the best home sauna pod. I'd be using it indoors, mostly to speed up recovery after workouts. But also it'd be nice to have for immunity. From what I can see, a lot of them don't heat up past 125 degrees F. Does anyone know of any that heat up more? Also, at this point, looking for dry or steam, not infrared. Hoping to stay under $1,000 on the price. It'd be great if there is a strong warranty as well. I had a home sauna pod a few years ago that didn't last long. Thanks for your suggestions.
