I'm terrified of flossing, the idea of string going into my gums icks me to no end, yet it's caused me some issues related to bad breath and gum bleeding.
Are water picks/flossers a good alternative? What brand do you guys recommend?
I've been working hard on improving my teeth and gum health after years of improper hygiene. This is from brushing teeth 2x a day with Charcoal toothpaste and mouthwash, sometimes flossing. Flossing scares me.
Sometimes my teeth bleed but not a real amount, like less than a drop and then it stops after a few seconds. Is this a sign of disease?
I also see how one of my teeth are yellowy. Cavities!? Dead tooth!?
Nothing in my mouth hurts. It is overcrowded and I'm working on getting my wisdom teeth removed to hopefully begin to solve that.
Found this going through my car. Smells just like the juice when you bite into an apple, plus that clean sanitizer smell. I absolutely love it and I wish they still sold this scent! Is country apple a good substitute?
I know I have crowded teeth, thank my wisdom teeth + genetics for that. However I'm wondering if I have gum recession.
My gums do bleed if I forget to brush my teeth for 2+ days, but I've been getting much better at properly cleaning my teeth. I don't have bad breath or tooth aches. Ever. Occasional cankers thanks to my diet and my overcrowded teeth.
Hopefully I can get into a proper dentist soon, it's just taking a while due to availability in my area.
When I say alt, I mean they participate in sub-cultures like punk, emo, scene, etc or have interests like Anime, Kpop, so on.
How do you feel about your child having these interests and how do you connect with your kid? I was a weird tween, being into anime, emo sub-cultures, and roblox during 2019-2022 and it would consume my entire personality. I struggled sharing these intersts with my parents since they never tried learning about me, even with my new interests I still struggle to connect with my parents.

I'm not a parent and I've been on the internet for a huge chunk of my life. However I feel like a lot of parents aren't very "smart" when it comes to the online space and what actually puts them and their children in danger. So what tips, big or small, would you give to a parent who has a child who uses the internet or whose child is showing interest in having an online presence?
My 2 year old dog had a pamprin scare back in early July. We followed the vets orders, got her immediate treatment, and shes fine. However tylenol can disrupt blood flow in dogs, leading to cold limbs and so on.
I never really pay attention to how warm or cold my dog feels but after going through another rabbit hole of dog health searches, I'm trying to figure out if my room is just cold or if she doesn't have enough blood flow.
She isn't lethargic, shaking, or anything like that. I feel her paws and they aren't freezing cold, maybe just lightly cooled? Depends on if she's been outside or not in the last hour. Her back is cool but not cold. Her belly, head, neck, and thighs feel warm. My room tends to be one of the coldest in the house thanks to being right above our AC system and basement. The rest of the house tends to lean on the warmer side, but I struggle getting her to stay still due to our other dogs riling her up. If there's a good way to measure my dogs temperature, such as a thermometer recommendation or rule of thumb, I'd love to know.
I'm sorry if this post sounds weird or stupid but I've been ultra worried about my dogs wellbeing. I'm checking her gums and eyes everyday waiting for a color change and almost worried myself sick when she slept through a whole night.
My Firestick was working fine earlier today before it froze into a loading cycle. I restarted the tv several times, cleared the cache on the apps, and even restarted my internet. It's not loading youtube or any other apps anymore and keeps saying it either A: can't connect to servers or B: can't connect to wifi even though it IS connected. I'm not sure why this is happening.
Cleaning out my grandmothers closet and found this absolute gem. Looking at old listings, it originally had cleansers and creams. Only the towel survived the years. Would've came out in the late 80's/any time during the 90's. Very useful and pretty!
My dog is a female beagle-king charles cavalier mix. I'm wondering how I find the average weight she should be so I don't make her overweight or underweight. Do i simply take her 2 breed averages and get the median out of them both?
Currently she's ~27LB. She might be a medium-large beagle but I could be wrong. I'm watching her diet and will start taking her on daily walks when the weather in my area cools down.

My dog is a 2 year old 27lb Beagle-Cavalier mix. I'm worried about what I'm feeding her, as I've heard horror stories of dog food causing illness and cancers. I need something that'll keep my dog healthy and happy while not costing an insane amount.
I (17F) and my mom (37F) always had a semi-strained relationship. She always prioritized the wrong things in life, causing my other family members to pick up the slack to raise me. She has a habit of spending paychecks on cosmetic procedures instead of things I need such as doctors appointments, school supplies, so on. She even spent the ~$100K she got from a lawsuit on a new car instead of paying off my enrollment fees and taking me to a doctor for a health issue at the time. She gets several cosmetic procedures done since she grew up with low self-esteem and she has health conditions that makes it difficult to feel good in her own body. She can't dye her hair, tan, or exercise comfortably without pain.
Just a few weeks ago, we got into an argument that started over her mentioning a new tattoo. She currently has over 30 different tattoos all over her body and frankly, doesn't need more. The tattoo she wanted would've covered her entire back and would've cost over $1200 (based on the quote from the artist she messaged). I first tried to explain how she should set aside that money for something else as nobody would see that tattoo on a daily basis and she has a medical procedure to save up for in the future. She got defensive and explained that tattoos are how she expresses herself and that she can always save more money, course I got upset at that since she didn't listen to what I was trying to say. I ended up getting frustrated from the constant back-and-forth and ended up yelling at her and saying I wish she never got tattoos because it's like an addiction and I wish she'd go broke so she would get into her head that spending her money like this won't do her any good. In short.
She is now giving me the silent treatment. I feel bad since she has self-esteem issues and tattoos are one of the only ways she can express herself due to limitations from both her job and health. However I feel like she needs to save money and prioritize more important things than looks. Am I the Asshole for yelling at her like that?
Edit: I'm sorry if I didn't make my situation clear, we aren't broke per se. She makes a modest amount every year. However she never spends money to take care of my basic medical needs, education, so on. I didn't want to police her on how to express herself, but she always puts her money towards herself and not me, her child. I agree she should be allowed to get tattoos if thats what she wants, but that shouldn't be her main priority.
My 2 year old 26lb dogs gums look like this. We had a scare back in the beginning of July with her eating Pamrpin but we acted super fast, got her medications, and she's doing well. I read that pale gums can be caused by lack of oxygen in the blood stream, are her gums pale?

My mother has a problem with sharing personal information online. Shes not old by any means, still quite young. However I notice she shares things online that she shouldn't. She almost got herself doxxed.
She has a habit of posting revealing photos, posting where she is at the moment, getting into arguments, so on. This has put her and me in possible danger. How do I go about telling her to back off and start being aware of what she posts without bossing her around?
Her personality is very..strong to put it simply. She's very hyper and irrational. She has this idea that shes tough and unbreakable but then flares up when people tell her otherwise. She acts like every critique is a personal attack. I just don't want her getting hurt.
My dog, a 12 year old female mix, has been suffering these last 3 years. She has cancer and has several huge tumors. She's overweight due to the tumors despite us adjusting her diet and giving her exercise. She suffers from arthritis and can barely make it down our deck to use the bathroom.
I love her, a lot. It'll be the first time I get a dog put down and I don't know when to tell she's ready. I know that her quality of life is awful and we can't handle the vet bills if we do treat her cancer and remove all of her tumors. Should we wait it out? Go ahead and put her down to ease her pain? Please I need advice.
I love music, however a lot of basic mp3 players i find have awful audio quality. The one I'm using right now is fine, AGPTEK, but whats the best mp3 player when it comes to audio quality?
I use an AGPTEK MP3 player, always used the same cord to transfer files. Today when I tried to plug it in to add new music, it won't recognize the mp3 player. It just charges.
As i said, i never lost the original cord. I still tested other cords and none of them worked either. I updated and restarted my chromebook and it still isn't working. I tested out a regular usb drive and it works perfectly fine.
I also tested it on a different type of laptop and none of the cords made it recognize the mp3 player. I don't understand whats going on and why the cords aren't working all of a sudden. Everything was perfectly fine a couple days ago.
Does anyone know what I can do? Is my computer just glitching or is it a user-caused issue?
UPDATE: I found a cord that works! It's strange how the others just stopped working, maybe they're old and need to be thrown away.
Size , Weight, Performance, Battery life.
I want a DVD player inside the computer, along with the ability to hold a LOT of songs, since I use an MP3 Player and constantly download new songs. I want it to be "aesthetic" if thats the right word- basically no LED keyboard or unnecessary keys. I'm not looking for an ultra-pro gaming laptop, simply something I can use in bed or on a desk.
